Playtime Is Over by Nadia Aidan

Playtime is over.

Brokenhearted, Sonya sheds everything that reminds her of her life with Joshua. In the process she discovers the depths of her true nature and awakens inner sexual yearnings she never knew she possessed, as well as a painful past she thought long buried.

Old hurts and dark secrets cloud Sonya’s and Joshua’s every interaction, threatening to tear them apart forever. But Joshua refuses to allow Sonya to walk away from him again. She has long held his heart, but now he willingly surrenders his body to her—a sexual Dominant submitting to his submissive. It’s something Joshua has never done for any woman, and never Sonya, but he’s determined to do anything to win Sonya’s love, no matter the cost.

This is the second book in the Red Velvet Rope series and I blew through it like butter.

What I Liked:

The POV from a switch was a new one for me and I really liked how the main character took her pain and moved it to a place where she could manifest her anger into a dominant sexual stance. Becoming a Domme was a wonderful twist for Sonya and she will teach Joshua a lesson he will not soon forget.

What I Didn't:

Not a thing.

Overall:

5/5

This second book in the series was even better than the first one. I loved it. A quick read, it had me captivated and I could not put it down for the life of me. The sexual tension between the two characters was amazing and I really felt for Sonja, who had been reduced to just a sex object and not a woman. This story brought all of that full circle when she becomes a Domme and makes Joshua see just what he was missing, by whip and by flogger. (I am getting goosebumps just thinking about it.) The cliff hanger ending was also great and I loved the characters from the first book being a part of this one too.

A great short summer read for fans of BDSM erotic romance.
