The Duke's Christmas Abductions

Thanks so much for having the lovely Raven and me on your blog today. You know, we often talked about writing a book together, but that’s as far as it went. Then our reader group The RavdorChicks started nagging us—in the nicest possible way of course—that they would love us to write a story together.

So, after much frantic skype messaging, where we brainstormed ideas, and one very sleepless night from me, when the start of a workable story actually came to me, the idea was born.

What followed was a fun filled four days with Raven in Scotland, where we put our heads down, fuelled by wine, chocolate, and Gin&Tonics, and our fingers flew.

We had so much fun writing this story I can say this won’t be our last collaboration.  We hope readers will like The Dukes’ Christmas Abductions as much as we loved writing this story.

Much love from both of us!

Stay naughty now, folks.

Excerpt (18+):

Daniel paused mid swatting the delectable arse in front of him to rub, what must be a considerable ache by now, away. His quarry had stopped screaming for this Vicky, at last, and unless his senses were completely off, she was starting to enjoy his attention. Certainly her breaths were coming in short gasps, and instead of struggling, she was raising her bottom into every carefully placed swat of his hand.
The evening was definitely looking up. As was his cock, which was in danger of splitting his evening breeches.
There was one way to find out for sure. Daniel slipped his fingers under the hideous undergarments, and smirked at the all over body shiver his girl gave. Satisfied with not only her reaction but also by the wet, hair-free cunt he found, he let his digits linger.
“Oh, god.”
Her breathless moan spurred him on, and he grinned when he found her hidden pearl. She shivered again when he circled the tight nub, and Daniel set up lazy circles, designed to drive any woman wild. This chit proved no exception. The air grew heavy with the musk of aroused woman, and Daniel inhaled deeply, before he stopped the movement.
A strangled groan escaped his girl, and he tapped her arse again, when she tried to rub her cunt on his fingers.
“Oh, no, you don’t. I want the truth, starting with your name, and maybe then I’ll let you find release. Only on my say so, though, are we clear here, girl?”
“Fuck, yes … ow.”
Her arse cheeks wobbled most satisfactorily, when he yanked that odd fabric down to her knees, and delivered a few more swats to her delectable arse. The woman had a derriere made for fucking, hips to grab onto while he sunk his cock into her body and claimed what was his. That thought made his head come up. His? He had no business having proprietary thoughts toward a servant like that.
“Fuck, we most certainly will, but not without you telling me who you are, so…” He delivered another open handed swat across both of her arse cheeks this time, and her answering deep throated moan made him go so hard it was a wonder he hadn’t spilled in his breeches yet.
“Clara, Sir. My name is Clara.”
Daniel slid his fingers through her sodden slit, and flicked her nub once, causing her to give another one of those cock hardening moans.
“Very nice, but the correct address would be my lord, chit, would it not?”
A strangled groan was his response this time, and when he withdrew his fingers again, she slumped.
“Sorry, My Lord.
The girl, Clara, he mentally amended, had fire, that was for sure, if the intonation she gave his title was anything to go by. A certain amount of boldness was something Daniel certainly appreciated in his bed partners. If Clara was a lady’s maid, she was wasted in that position. As his mistress, however…  His mood improved dramatically as that thought took hold.
It was Christmas, time to be charitable and all that went with such bounty, and what could be better than elevating this lovely creature from her status of mere servant to his mistress.
Mind thus made up, it was time to taste her nectar and to see if what he was suspecting would be true. That Clara and he would mesh perfectly in the bedroom, and he could let his darker desires shine through.
He indulged himself by sliding several digits through her wet cunt, lubricating them with her juices, before he slipped one finger into her tight channel, and brought his thumb to press against the puckered hole, guarding that entrance.
Clara stiffened slightly, but she didn’t voice any protest, and when he started to thrust the finger in her cunt slowly in and out of her, she gasped. Her hips rose in involuntary jerks, which told him how close she already was to exploding under his ministrations. Her untutored responses made him want to hurry this along, but Daniel was never an inconsiderate lover. He would give her several releases before he claimed his own.
“Good girl, and who do you work for?”
Clara moaned and writhed against him, her internal muscles fluttering around his fingers in rippling moves, which signaled her impending orgasm as clearly as the rosy flush spreading across her skin. So beautifully responsive. She jerked when he tapped her nub, and then withdrew his hand.
“Faversham Estate. Oh god, please, My Lord … I.” The rest of her pretty little plea was lost in a screech as he swung her off his lap and onto his bed.  Her breasts bounced most satisfactorily, and her lovely almond shaped green eyes widened further when he crawled onto the bed with her, and straddled her midriff. Daniel grasped her arms and brought them high above her head. The action made her breasts rise up in silent offering, and Daniel smirked.
“Hmm, that would mean you work for me. How delightful. Whatever position you hold here, I much prefer you in this one, unable to move and at my mercy. I’m going to tie your wrists together and tether you to one of the posts, sweet Clara. Is that acceptable to you?”

Taken Identity

Thank  you so much for inviting me onto your blog, to show you a little of Taken Identity.
Taken Identity was so much fun to write. Yes, I know, I say that all the time, but I enjoy writing, and love adding humour to my stories.
However I also like to try to do a bit if 'what if' in my stories.
This what if is…
What if someone turns up on your doorstep looking for someone one with the same name.
Okay, not too much of a coincidence I guess especially if you're John or Joan Smith. But with the same description, and same job?
Then it gets a wee bit worrying.
So what would you do?
 The blurb says it all…

I was more than happy when my muse informed me that this story was set in my neck of the woods. It's one thing I try to do with everything I write. Set them somewhere I know and love.
Here's a wee tease…
Jules swiftly logged off her laptop and closed it down. Swivelling to pick up her bag from the floor caused her skirt to ride up her long legs, and her blouse to tighten around her breasts. She shovelled all her diaries into her bag and stood up. “I’m ready.”
“So am I,” he said.
Oh, yes, she could see that and realized just how ready he was. Just a pity he couldn’t show her. Although, she didn’t need to look far to discover for herself a rough idea—fitted trousers were not the best thing for hiding an erection, especially not one with the strength of his.
Jules found her eyes drifting downwards. She had to recheck. Being Jules, she just had to comment. “Wow, aren’t you just? Is all that for me?”
“Well, there’s no one else here who can arouse me like you seem to. Without trying.”
She cocked her head to one side. “Do not put thoughts into my head, Gray. Or I will try. Hard.”
Gray stared at her, surveyed her. His eyes were bright, and she shivered. As he looked at her breasts, she felt her nipples tighten beneath the thin material of her top and knew he could see this evidence as easily as she felt it.
“By all means, try,” he said cordially, in invitation. “But beware the consequences. Try as hard as you like. Make me hard. Christ, make me come, if you want. Because, I want. To come, hard, with you, in you, on you—your choice, Jules. How and when. But know this. You try anything, and I’ll try back, and succeed. I don’t give up my dominance unless I chose to. On this occasion I don’t think that’s at all likely.”

*****

Judging by the look on his face, he was waiting for a smart comeback. For the life of her, she didn’t have one. There was nothing she could think of to say. Instead, she walked to the door. “Shall we?”
Gray pondered. “Oh, we shall Never fear. But for now, let’s head to your home.”
Jules choked on a splutter.
“Do you know, Jules, although this sexually charged repartee is enjoyable, the hard-on I have to suffer—and suffer is the word—bloody well is not. I hope you’re feeling as horny and frustrated as I am. I want nothing more than to strip you, hold you down and fuck the living daylights out of you. Then tan your arse until it’s as red as your hair. So now you know.” His voice was hoarse.
“Ah. Okay. Um. Oh, good. Thank you, I think.”
“Take it from me, once I sort this whole sodding mess out, find out about my is-she-or-isn’t-she wife—who I hasten to add is responsible for all the negatives in my life at the moment—I won’t let you from under me for a week.” He stopped, and she watched, fascinated as a wolfish grin spread over his face. “Except to put you over me, in me, around me…”
He shrugged. “Until that time comes, until I sort this unrepeatable bleep of a woman out, I guess I will be worshiping at the shrine of Pam and her five sisters. That is a journey I’ve rarely undertaken these last few years.”
Jules looked at him blankly before bursting out laughing. “Pam and her…? Oh my God, what an expression. I love it.”
Gray’s face was almost the colour of her hair. “Trust me when I say I don’t. Having to use her, I mean. Hell, it’s not something I’ve had the need or desire for since I was a scrubby schoolboy. Not until you came on the scene.”
Typical man, blame her for—well, Jules, she thought, actually, it is a compliment. What she was going to do about it, she wasn’t sure yet. Yes, she might fancy the pants off him, but there was way too much baggage being carried about to even contemplate what she was contemplating. Wasn’t there?
As he followed her to the door, holding it open to allow her to precede him, Jules felt his eyes fixed steadily on her rear.
“Stop ogling,” she snapped. Grief, had her moods ever been so mercurial before?
“Careful, pet.” His voice was level, but his determination rang out loud and clear. “You’ve had a lot of leeway, and if you want us to go back to being virtual strangers with no electricity and tension between us, now’s the time to say so. Otherwise, I’ll ogle if I so choose. It gives me something positive, something good to look at and think about. It is a perfect rear view and perfect front view, as well, if I’m honest.”
Shit, talk about embarrassment.
“Yes, sorry, Sir.” Where on earth had that come from?
“Not yet, pet, but soon, I hope.” He must have guessed she was self-conscious about her slip, because he changed the subject with aplomb.
“What about dinner? Shall we eat now, or can we call for something later?”
She laughed aloud at that. “Typical townie statement that, Gray. Who d’you think will deliver to us out in the sticks? There’s no conveniently situated take-away. However, if you’re happy with home cooking, there’s no problem.”
Gray stared at her, looking as if he could hardly believe his ears.
“Replay what you said. Home…cooking. Oh, yeah, sadly, I did mishear. You said cooking. Cooking. With a C.”
Huh? Oh, that was it. She was going to have to go to meditation or hypnosis or something to learn how to control this awful blush. The raised eyebrow, the quirk of his lips, his pointed look down his body to a very, “Hey, look, I’m here. Don’t forget me,” part of his anatomy, made her giggle. He was not such a stuffed shirt after all.
“Anyway,” he continued. “If you are sure you don’t mind, I’d love some home cooking. I eat just about everything.”
“Tripe and onions?”
“Er, almost anything, Jules. Don’t think that covers tripe.”
She was aware of how he held himself rigid, presumably to stop the involuntary shudder that had started, and she noticed his erection had completely subsided. Now she knew what she had to do if he became too aroused. Mention tripe.

Breathless Monday: Dominated by the Earl

Happy Monday! Here we are for our next naughty interview with the amazing Raven McAllan. Domination. Earls in tight pants. Well...there you go.

1. How did you start writing erotic romance? I have no idea. I just wrote, and this was the result. I was as surprised as anyone, that my voice is as it is. The first book Wallflowers Don't Wilt was written as a dare by my crit group UCW.
2. Plotter or pantster? Definitely a pantster… sometimes… I now do plot as well. It depends on my mood, my muse's mood, and if I have chocolate.
3. What are three things you have on your writing desk? I don't have a writing desk. J I can (and do) write anywhere I can take my laptop. My desk at this moment is my knee, so I have a hippy skirt on it.
4. Favorite food? Anything gluten free these days, (as long as it's not cheese). Well okay let's say chocolate and champagne.
5. Tell us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to you? Dominated by the Earl, A Regency romance, is a rereleased version of A Matter of Faith. I totally got the title wrong the first time around. Faith is the daughter of my heroine, Leonora. Leonora and my hero Justin really have to work hard at a HEA, and I had such fun helping them. Faith made me giggle, and Nora was so determined she'd get a happy life for all of them. Justin is definitely a dominant man shivers in a good way and he was a joy to write about.
6. I write because ____... I'd go crazy if I didn't. All these characters in my head shouting, "me, me."
7. What is your favorite type of character to write about? Someone with a sense of humor.
8. What is the sexiest scene you ever wrote? I have no idea. I write and say, oh that's not really hot or sexy, and someone will say it is you know. Maybe you'd better ask anyone who reads my books that question.
9. What advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field? Research wink. That apart, remember, if you're uncomfortable writing something, it will show.
10. What is next on your writerly horizon? Well I keep saying I'm going to slow down, but I seem to have a must write list that just gets longer. I have several series to continue (Diomhair, Dommissimma, Miss Simpkins, The Wolfes of Kinfoyle—Jacob Wolfe is definitely an Alpha male) and a couple to start…One about a travel agency with a difference, and one about a Regency family. Then there's all the other one offs that sneak into the queue when I'm not looking.

Author bio

Well what can I say?

I'm growing old disgracefully and loving it.
Dh and I live on the edge of a Scottish forest, and rattle around in a house much too big for us.
Our kids have grown up and flown the nest, but roll back up when they want to take a deep breath and smell the daisies so to speak.
I write in my study, which overlooks the garden and the lane. I'm often seen procrastinating, by checking out the wild life, looking—only looking—at the ironing basket and assuring tourists that indeed, I'm not the bed and breakfast. That would mean cooking fried eggs without breaking the yolks, and disturbing the dust bunnies as they procreate under the beds. Not to be thought of.
Being able to do what I love, and knowing people get pleasure from my writing is fantastic. Long may it last.

Book excerpt-
It seemed no time at all before he was escorting her into his home. On one hand he could wish the journey had been longer, on the other his prick was so eager to be out of his pantaloons and in her, he knew he was in danger of behaving like an inexperienced schoolboy and spilling his seed. With his usual hardheaded determination, he quelled his eagerness and lifted her down from the horse. She made sure she slid down every inch of him, the twinkle in her eyes showing that innocent as she protested she was, she knew just what she was doing. So did he.
“Minx. I await with mounting desire to see your arse flushed to the same rosiness as your face. I have a strong feeling their color should be the same.” Justin noted with pleasure that her gasp wasn’t one of horror but one more of arousal. It bode well for what he had in mind.
Nora raised one eyebrow, and ran her hand through her hair. “This is a mess.” She fished in her pocket, pulled out some hair- pins and twisted her hair up into an untidy bun. Justin ignored the change of subject, and didn’t tell her, her hair would be back down again before too long. She’d find that out soon enough.
Justin was no saint, and when offerings such as Nora were forthcoming, he was in no mind to refuse them. Truth to tell, he had lusted after Leonora Bessingore for an age. His cock was in a permanent state of arousal when in her proximity. He had lost count of the number of times he’d fucked himself and imagined it was her hand on his prick.
Now, he had her almost where he wanted her. Nothing could have made him happier, and his body quivered with the thought of what was hopefully in store. If he had to go into the army, and it was he knew a given, then he’d know Nora before he did.
“Upstairs.” He put his hand to the small of her back and edged her upward. “First door on the left.”
As she got to the top of the stairs her steps faltered. “Justin, what if...” Her voice petered out.
“It’s too late for that, Nora.” He pulled off his riding cape and dropped it over the balustrade. “No what ifs are allowed. The servants are away. Your father thinks we have gone on a farewell picnic, and mine is uncaring and in town.” He chose not to mention her brother. “You’ve pushed me thus far, and therefore there’s no backing out. When I rest on a pallet in some godforsaken billet with the reek of gunpowder and death round me, I’ll think of you under me. Of my cock buried to the hilt inside your channel, and the sweet love mewls I feel sure you’ll make. You will not renege.” He pushed her inside the room. It took very little effort. She may plead uncertainty, but her actions belied that state of mind.
“Wait now.” He undid the buttons on her cloak as he spoke. “I need to see if your bath has been made ready before the servants left.”
“I have no intention of doing any such thing,” Nora said. Indignation rang through her voice. “Reneging or waiting. Hell, I’ve waited so long, I may well be atrophied. I’ll bathe after.” She threw the cloak he had given her onto a chair where it teetered on the spindly back before slipping down on to the carpet. She didn’t give it a second glance. “I want to be yours, Justin. To know what if feels like to have you inside me. To feel you swell and grow and spill over me.” Color swept up her neck and over her face in such a way that Justin was enchanted. He was sure her breasts and belly would share that same delicate hue.
“Never let it be said I disappointed a lady.” Justin ran his finger over one of her flushed cheeks, it was warm to his touch. “Take your gown off.”
She looked at him as if he had two heads. In his present state of uncomfortable arousal, he would not have been surprised. His body was on fire and the only way he knew to dowse the flames was inside her. It was both torture and ecstasy to hold back and show her only a little of his desires.
“Won’t you help me?” she asked in a soft voice. “Reach my ties for me?” She lifted her hair and bent her head to expose the elegant line of her neck, and the loosely tied ribbons that encircled it.
As Justin stared at her bowed head, her spine curved, and her arse rose in his direction. His cock threatened to stretch the knit of his pantaloons beyond all reasonable limits of such material. The pose she had adopted—unconsciously he assumed—pulled the flimsy material of her gown taut over the globes of her rear, and emphasized the tantalizing cleft that separated them.
“Lift your skirts, Nora, let me see what is coming to me.”
She turned her head. Her expression was one of puzzlement.
Good. Let me see how far I can push her in the best ways imaginable.
“My rear?”
He nodded, and her eyes widened. “But of course, my dear. To delve deep inside that secret passage, to feel my cock enclosed and held tight within will be one pinnacle of our time together.”

Miss Simpkin's School: Jane

Molly Simpkins' School for Seduction has helped many ladies of the ton to achieve their hearts desires, so helping Lady Jane Nicholby ought to be easy.
However, this young widow's deep, dark secret means she can never remarry for fear of the scandal it would cause. Widows are not supposed to be virgins, after all.
Fortunately, Molly knows just the person to help her change this state of affairs. Persuading Luke De Freitas to fall in with her plans, though, will require all of her considerable skill.

A spot of blackmail should do the trick quite nicely...

Excerpt:
Jane let Luke lead her from the sitting room into the bedchamber. The bed itself, an overlarge four poster, seemed to dominate the room and the intricate crisscross of silken ropes and ties were, to her mind, excessive. She liked simple plain lines. Not at all the fashion of the day, but then Jane had never been one to follow fashion. Luke caught her gaze.
"I find it exciting to bind my companion's hands and perhaps her body," he said in the same tone he might use to admit he enjoyed a glass of port or a day's riding to hounds. "Only if she's willing, of course." His look was speculative and Jane ignored the dampness between her thighs. The only times she'd ever experience that feeling was with the help of a specially crafted darning mushroom, that had never been near a sock or a hank of wool.
"Of course," she said in the same tone. "And are they?"
"Well, you tell me." Luke set one of the ropes swinging. "I'm not a mind reader, mores the pity."
"I intend to walk before I run, or swing," Jane said and turned into his arms.
Luke held her close, and she enjoyed the feeling of rightness. "Then a cuddle it is. Do you need—" He gestured to the door leading to the bathing chamber. "Everything is in there."
The heat of a blush prickled her skin. "Please? Oh, and my nightrail?"
"Not needed. There's a robe in there for you to wear until you come to bed. I'm going to use the bathing chamber across the hall, and meet you back here. I'm a modern man. I bathe and expect my guests to do so after a day's hunting. We smell, the dogs smell, and I have no intention of my house smelling as well. Cleanliness is next to godliness, and I need all the help I can get." He went out of the room whistling, and Jane chuckled as she made use of the facilities.
She eyed the robe that was indeed waiting for her. It was almost transparent. A robe for a lover. Had he really put it there with her in mind? She took a deep breath, wrapped it tightly around her body, and hurried into the bedchamber. To her relief, she was there before Luke and scrambled into bed, still wearing the robe. It might not afford much protection, but the illusion helped her.
Should she stretch out or sit up? Pull the covers up tight around her neck or strive for nonchalance and let them sit looser? Really it was so complicated.
The door opened and her mouth went dry as Luke reentered. Water droplets still clung to his hair, and he ran his hands through it in an effort to dry it. He was dressed in a banyan and as far as she could tell nothing else. The thin material clung to his damp body, and defined every muscle and sinew. It tented over his cock, which even as she stared pushed even more at the material.
Luke saw where she was looking and grinned. "My imagination on seeing you in my bed went into overdrive, and therefore so did my—er…" He gestured downward.
Jane gulped. Really it was way too late to act the prude. She rushed into speech before he could finish his words. "Your 'er' is pleased to see me?" she asked.
Luke gave a delighted shout of laughter. "Oh yes, even wrapped up like a mummy you entice and enchant."
"That's doing it a bit too brown, Luke," Jane said, although a thrill of excitement coursed through her at his words. "I'm an overweight, widowed virgin of thirty five, not a young deb."
"And I thank the lord for that." Luke pulled the banyan over his head as he stood, seeming unconcerned by his magnificent nudity, before he turned back the covers on one side of the bed. "Except you are not overweight, but a perfect handful for a man to hold and caress. Move over unless you want me to stretch out on top of you? I think that's missing a step, but I'm game if you are?" His light tone showed her he was kidding.
Or she thought he was. Jane slid further away from him until she hit the edge of the bed.
"Not that far, woman. I want to feel every inch of your beautiful curvy thank the lord non-deb body, not fresh air. I like something warm and womanly to hold on to. Come here." Luke tugged on the edge of her robe, and pulled her toward him. She met his body with a thump, and his cock waved its greeting. Jane gave a silly, breathy giggle as he began to walk his fingers over the cloth, bunching it up and away from her body as he did so.
His fingers stroked the side of her breast and she squirmed.
"Ticklish?" There was a wicked twinkle in his eyes.
"Yes, no... argh you..." Jane did her best to inch away, but Luke pinned her arms to her sides and before she understood what he was doing, slipped her gown down them, and somehow had her naked before she could blink.
"How on earth did you do that?" she asked, genuinely interested.
"Practice, and no. I'm not telling you who on. That part of my life is over. I've turned over a new leaf. I'm a reformed character."
"One who is about to deflower a virgin," Jane reminded him with a smile.
"Only one virgin, and then I'll stick to an experienced woman," Luke said.
His words hit her as surely as if he'd used a stick. So she wasn't what he wanted. Why did it matter so?
Because I want him to want me, only me. The regret she'd had when he offered her carte blanche and she'd refused came back multiplied. Luke's was the face she imagined, and the body she fantasized over when she pleasured herself. She tried to move away, but he rolled on top of her and pinned her between his legs. His staff rubbed her belly and she felt the wetness that leaked from it. No doubt her quim and channel were as damp.
"Tell me now, Jane; do I stop or do I make you into that experienced woman now? My experienced woman." His voice was strained. "I swear once I take you I won't let you go. You'll be mine however and whatever else happens. God, I've wanted you ever since I saw you at Nic's when we were at Cambridge and oh fuck, say yes, please say yes." He ground his cock into her belly and then lifted himself so it teased her cunt.
"Yes." She nipped the first bit of skin she could get to. His ear. It would have to do until she could nip, kiss, and touch the rest of him. He wants me; he wants me, not just anyone, but me. Jane lifted her legs and circled his waist. The movement inched his cock just inside her channel. His sweat-slicked torso rubbed her breasts, and the hairs on his chest tickled her. She tightened her legs, in the hope his cock would move even further into her, but he held back and lifted his head to stare at her. "Yes, and yes."
"Eh?" Luke looked as astounded as she'd felt at his words.
"Yes, for fuck's sake, fuck me. And now before I lose my courage."

Miss Simpkins' School. Where seduction's the game, and success is the aim. Let your classes commence.

Ex mistress to an Earl, who better than Molly Simpkins to show Flora how to ensure she gets what she needs from her marriage?

Flora's intended has an idea she doesn't agree with. Angus thinks she should be happy to live at their Scottish estate while he spends his time in London. It may be the way of the ton, but it isn't going to be Flora's way. This is her chance to show Angus what he'd miss if he leaves her alone. There's only one thing—she doesn't know how.

Luckily Miss Simpkins does.

Remember Remember, no not the 5th of November…your WIP is not the only thing in your life. (even thought it feel like it at times) And I've just realized to those of you across the pond you will now think I've lost the plot. But, November 5th is to celebrate a plot. The Gunpowder plot. When many, many, years ago (1605 to be exact) Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. (He failed in his dream we won't in ours.)
So to get back to the plot here. WIP and life. They have to mesh. For a while I lived slept, spent every waking minute writing, and it annoyed the hell out of my family. I had to get a happy medium. It's hard when your characters are bombarding you, not to listen and type away furiously. Writing is my hobby as well as my job. After all if they enjoy watching TV why shouldn't I write. Both are as anti-social as each other.
But two wrongs don't make a right, and I realized I was becoming a bore. No conversation, no interaction…a bore. Hmm. I sat and had a think. No laptop during the evening except in very special circumstances. I rejoined the interactive world of conversation.
It's hard, especially if there's things I have to do regarding my books. Although I often do read up on stuff if DH is watching something on the TV. You have to explain that this is a two way street. It's give and take on both sides. I try to set aside four hours every day to work. Sometimes it's more, sometimes less. I've learned not to beat myself up over it. If I set myself deadlines I stress. But again if I don't have a deadline, I procrastinate.
When we go on holiday, I write for an hour in the morning before anyone else is up, and I find long haul flights brilliant for adding to the wordage. (And gaining new readers). At home I start the minute the door closes on Dh going to work.
It hasn't been easy, tempering all this and getting a good work/non work ratio. I'm not sure if I've succeeded or not. I do get frustrated and annoyed at times, especially when I'm asked to do stuff during the day because, "you're at home with time on your hands". Or even worse, "you don't work so you can do x or y". (Not my husband) I've bitten my tongue several times.
Now if the characters are demanding my attention and I can't ignore them, I'll just say so, go into the study and sort them out. DH will appear with a glass of wine, and go back to his TV program.

We're getting there!

Excerpt Three:

Fraser had been told he was cold and heartless by many a person, but he knew it wasn't true. He had proper affection for anyone he bedded, and truth be told, abhorred the way men married and still went elsewhere other than their wife for satisfaction. It may be the way of the ton, but it wasn't his way. Once wed, he intended to be faithful to his wife, and she to him. So why, he mused as he washed and tugged a banyan over his head, had he spouted such rubbish to Flora? Just because her brother said she understood and accepted life was thus?

I'm an idiot. First for not telling her how I feel, and second for not showing her. Third for not explaining how I wanted our life to be, and fourth—he winced at one particular bruise inflicted in Jackson's Boxing Salon—fourth for not dodging that blow from Carruthers.

Fraser shook his head at his folly, and went back into the sitting room adjacent to his bedchamber. Newton, his valet, had left port and brandy on a side table next to the fire that still burned in the grate. He poured a modest amount of brandy into a snifter. He had a lot of thinking to do, and needed a clear head. Fraser slumped into a chair and rested his chin on his chest with his brandy glass held loosely between his fingers. How could he persuade Flora to be open and tell him how she felt, especially when he hadn't given her the same courtesy? It was a dilemma, and one he couldn’t fathom out how to solve. He closed his eyes the better to think.

It was an unexpected noise that woke him. Fraser could have sworn he'd not dropped off, but the clock on the mantle gave lie to that supposition. Over two hours had passed, and the coals in the grate barely glowed. He shivered, his bare feet were chilled, and the thin banyan was scarcely enough to warm the rest of him. At least he hadn't spilled his port. He took a hefty swallow and put the almost empty glass down, before he stood up and made sure the fire was safe. There was no point in rekindling it, and at this hour, no point in doing anything other than going to bed. He had an early morning appointment to ride in the park with Flora, and he had hoped to talk to her about putting the announcement of their marriage in the newspaper. Now he knew he couldn't do that before he'd explained what he really wanted, and seen if she agreed. If she didn't, then John, the succession, and the ton could go and hang. His mind made up, Fraser doused the lamp, and made his way to his bedchamber. The curtains were open as h
e preferred and there was enough moonlight to see by that a candle wasn't needed.

There was also enough moonlight to see his bed was occupied.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

Raven lives in Scotland, along with her husband and their two cats—their children having flown the nest—surrounded by beautiful scenery, which inspires a lot of the settings in her books.

She is used to sharing her life with the occasional deer, red squirrel, and lost tourist, to say nothing of the scourge of Scotland—the midge.

Her very understanding, and long-suffering DH, is used to his questions unanswered, the dust bunnies greeting him as he walks through the door, and rescuing burned offerings from the Aga. (And passing her a glass of wine as she types furiously.)

Why  Raven?  EASY!

The Raven is the harbinger of change. My Raven was around a lot after I sent Wallflowers Don't Wilt off to  Breathless Press. And then, I was offered a contract. Thanks Raven.

McAllan? EASY!

I live in Scotland. McAllan is a variation of the name of the BEST single malt in Scotland.
What else could I pick?

So O.K. It's a pen name, but one with deep meaning for me. I hope you enjoy reading Raven's books.

Miss Simpkins' School: Lydia

Miss Simpkins' School—where seduction's the game and success is the aim.

Why settle for less than everything? Lydia knows if she marries George it has to be everything for her. Can she persuade George to agree?
Lord George Stoke has very definite ideas of what he wants from his wife. Ideas that are usually reserved for a mistress. When he realizes Lydia doesn't want to be an ordinary wife, he makes plans to ensure she has a taste of his desires. But will she enjoy them or run? Little does he know that Lydia has very definite ideas of her own.

Will they mesh, or is their marriage doomed to be ordinary rather than spectacular? With the help of Miss Simpkins and her School for Seduction, they have one night to find out.

"So a cognomen." She tilted her head to one side. "Honey."
"Why?" It suited her. In the candlelight her hair was the color the honey made from bees that feasted on the moorland bushes near one of his estates.
"Because you and I know I can be sweet but not sickly?"
He bowed. "Then Honey it is. When I call you that I'm preparing to what I will call play. But it's not play as a child would indulge in. My play is hot, hard, and will push you to places you've never even dreamed of. Not yet though." He was gratified by the disappointment that suffused her face. "Honey," he used the term deliberately. "I assume you have yet to see a man's unclothed body, let alone experience love making in any form?"
"Sadly yes, but I'm more than ready to be shown, My Lord." Again the emphasis on his title. It seemed it was her way of conferring his authority over her. "I have heard to be fucked by an expert is everything a woman will want. I myself don't agree. I think I need other things as well." She blushed and put her hands to her cheeks. "I wish to be spanked and feel the sweet sting it brings."
His heart jumped and his skin tingled. Had she really said that? "Say it again. No don't look up. Untie your hair, and then put your hands in your lap."
He waited while she did as he asked and then she said distinctly, "I have heard it pleases you to spank your ladies. The though of this gives me strange feelings, good feelings, and I wish to experience it please."
"Then follow me. On your knees. Lift your skirt so it doesn't hinder you."
Was he pushing too hard too soon? She was untried, a virgin who knew naught in practice.
George walked to a slim door set in the paneling beside the fireplace and opened it. Very few people knew of this adjoining room's existence. Inside was a dominant's paradise. Conceived by certain gentlemen of a similar persuasion to him, and with their ladies input, it was designed as Molly put it, "As the perfect classroom."
Behind him he heard a gasp, a groan, and then an epithet, which he thought was "bloody skirts." He had to agree.
Lydia made her way toward him on hands and knees. She'd kilted the material around her waist, and to his delight her lower limbs flashed smooth and silky in the light. As she reached him she let her head fall forward and her hair streamed down to touch the floor.
"Ah, Honey, this is so perfect. Now let me help you up." He put his hands under her arms and helped her to her feet. "No, don't drop your skirts, let me feast my eyes on your quim as I intend to feast my mouth and my cock later." She bit her lip and moved her hand away from her waist. The downy blond muff now revealed shouted "shave me" to him. Later.

1. How did you start writing erotic romance?
By accident. I was talking to my crit group, and said Oh I think I'll write a historical romance about two women and a man. I had no idea where that came from. And they said, go on then we dare you. That was my first published book, Wallflowers Don't Wilt.

2. Plotter or pantster?
Pantster every time. I did try to plot once and ended up deleting 10k of the most stilted rubbish. I have a start and that's about it.

3. What are three things you have on your writing desk?
Well as I'm writing this on holiday in sunny Barbados, a glass of Fizz, my sunglasses case and sun cream.

4. Favorite food?
Chocolate. (Ah...a woman after my own heart.)

5. Tell us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to you?
Miss simpkins School is no ordinary school. It's where seduction's the game and success is the aim. She helps young ladies (and maybe gentlemen) to achieve what they want in life. Specifically partnerships and marriage. Why settle for less than everything? They way she goes about it is tailored to each person who asks for help. In this book, character wise, strangely enough it was George, the hero who really spoke to me. I'd thought the main interest would be Lydia, but George got under my skin in the best possible way. I love the way he works!

 6. I write because ____...
I have no option.

7. What is your favorite type of character to write about?
One with hidden depths. Usually even I don't know what they are at first, until he/she choses to open up and show me. It's like peeling away layers until they say, oh by the way…

8. What is the sexiest scene you ever wrote?
Evidently, horn sex. (Livvy's Devil Dom) Or so I've been told. However there's a scene in The Price to Pay, where Raig is riding a fair ground ride that got me all hot and bothered. In Regencies, I think they're all sexy because they often had to improvise.

9. What advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field?
Write as you can, not as you think you should. Never say, oh I can't write that because it's amazing how you do. It's hot, it's fun, and it's life. Oh and grow a thick skin.

10. What is next on your writerly horizon? The next book in this series, Miranda is well under way, and then I have a certain Dom shouting at me, and saying he's now prepared to talk once more. ( I have a feeling I was a bit disrespectful, so he shut up, and left me to stew.)
