Madness Ends Blog Tour

Monster Dating
I’ve suddenly been thrust back into the dating pool after many years, and I’ve come to one thought: maybe the entire male species are monsters. In the spirit of Halloween, I decided to explore the thought of being in a relationship with a literal monster.
Let’s start with a Vampire. One drawback of dating a vampire would be a very limited amount of outdoor activities in the daytime. There would be no picnics in the park, mid-day swims, or much of anything before nightfall. It would wreak havoc on my sleeping schedule. I’m all for a little late-night fun, but by around midnight the only thing I’m interested in is my dreams. On the plus side, you’d always look very tanned next to a vampire. Plus, they are known to be very good kissers, and there’s nothing wrong with being bitten once in a while.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, a werewolf would always have to be in by midnight, in order to keep others out of harm’s way.  There is nothing that can ruin a night more, than your date biting someone else’s head off. It would also get you thrown out of a bar pretty quickly. After being in full werewolf mode, imagine picking up all the hair that was shed. A little hair on the chest is one thing, on the back is another, but everywhere is just too much to handle!
As for dating the Creature from the Black Lagoon…you could never wear t-shirts. Especially white ones.  The first time you hugged, you’d be entering wet t-shirt contests everywhere.
For some women size is important. Let me rephrase that, some women prefer tall men. In that case, Frankenstein’s monster would be a good match. You would never need a step-stool again, but physically that is about all he’d would be good for. He’s very methodical in his movements, with little agility, and he would definitely test your patience since he’d always be lagging far behind. You would never get anywhere on time, but with those bolts on his head, things would certainly be electric.
Imagine the stares you’d receive when out with a monster, at least in comparison the woman would always look good. Next to a monster, it could be a bad hair day or wearing jeans that accentuates the wrong curves, and it wouldn’t matter. Next to a monster almost anyone would look like a supermodel. People would pretty much leave you alone, and the best part is, they would be a monster in bed!

Blurb for Madness Ends:
How can she face the danger when she can’t hear it coming?
Kaiya Hanazawa lost her hearing as a child and her family cocooned her in protection. As an adult, she was saved from a human trafficking ring, and her grandfather put her behind walls so high they became her prison. Now she’s free and ready to prove that she isn’t as innocent as she looks.
Gordon ‘Gabby’ Dixon doesn’t say a word—until he meets Kaiya. His knowledge of sign language helps bridge the attraction between them, but he’d never have Kaiya without his best friend Boone Tempest there to keep Gabby’s nightmares at bay.
Kaiya travels with Boone and Gabby to uncover a mystery left by the Men of Hell’s previous club accountant. Little do the three of them realize that a man bent on revenge is following them. At night, passion flares between the threesome, but just before they’re able to reach for the happily ever after, a hailstorm of violence threatens to sweep them away.
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of anal sex and violence.
Publisher’s Note: This book is linked to the Red Wolves Motorcycle Club series and is a sequel to Mad Delights.
General Release Date: 10th November 2015
Excerpt from Madness Ends:
“I lost my hearing at age ten,” she wrote on her notepad.  “My parents and I went to Asia on vacation.  I contracted bacterial meningitis and the doctors there treated me with ototoxic drugs.  The combination left me deaf.”
Both men frowned but they didn’t look at her with pity.  She liked that.  So many times people changed when they learned about what happened.  They suddenly thought she was a poor thing instead of a woman who had gone on to receive her college degree in accounting.  Gabby and Boone simply looked at her as if they were discovering one more fact, which is how she wanted this date to proceed.  She wanted to know everything about these two big men.
The food arrived, and all thought of talking ended as she dug into her meal.  The cheeseburger was messy but good, the French fries greasy yet tasty and the chocolate shake was simply divine.  One of the best meals she’d ever eaten.
Boone touched her arm and when she turned to face him, he grinned.  “For a tiny thing you sure can put away the food.”
She grabbed her pen and paper.  “I’m not tiny.  I’m five foot ten.  Very tall for a woman.”
“Yeah, but you weigh what?  A hundred pounds soaking wet?”
The lines around his eyes crinkled delightfully so she knew he was simply teasing her.  She decided to be a little naughty.  Quickly, she wrote out a reply and as she showed it to him, she laid her hand on his upper thigh.
“If you’re worried I won’t be able to take your cock, don’t.”
She read his lips.  “Fuck me.”
She nodded, letting him know that yes, she wanted to very much.

About Beth D. Carter:
I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate high rollers. I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.

I’ve been pretty fortunate in life to experience some amazing things. I’ve lived in France, traveled throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I am a mom to an amazing little boy. I’m surrounded by friends and family. And although I love holding a book in my hand, I absolutely adore my ereader, which I’ve named Ruby. I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on the web.

Good Manors Blog Tour

Sheep? You must be baaaaaarmy.

When one is writing erotica one doesn't expect to be looking up lambing and complications with birthing sheep really. Well I didn’t but as part of Good Manors that's just what I ended up doing...thank God for google!
Xander is trying different ways of making money and has decided investing in rare breeds is the way to go. Harriet is his first Castlemilk Moorit and she's expecting. It was really interesting looking up the lambing process, I'm glad I'm not squeamish though. Might have been interesting to witness an actual birth but it was far less messy looking at a few online articles. Not sure what Mr Blisse would make of that as research.
"Just off to deliver a lamb, love, it's for my novel. See you later. Yep, I'll remember to wipe my boots!"
He’s put up with all sorts in the name of research but I’m pretty certain he has limits and that might just be one of them.
Good Manors sprung some interesting surprises on me in fact, secret passageways were found that I had to check the validity of and I had to research roofing beams for one particularly hot rope scene. Not to mention Georgian libraries, bathrooms and dining furniture along with stables and out buildings and farm shops. Never a dull moment writing a Blisse novel.
Certainly kept me on my toes, anyway.
What's the strangest thing you've had to look up in the course of your work or for a hobby?

Blurb for Good Manors:
Mallard Hall plays host to games of submission and Dominance for one unique couple, but do the secrets of the past threaten the new bonds being forged?
India Grace, a respected journalist, is assigned to the estate for a behind the scenes look at how it runs. It is the last place in the world she wants to be. Back when she was young and naïve she took a photo of old Lord Mallard, which led to her success and his downfall. She carries the guilt with her to the location and it’s constantly in the back of her mind when she meets the hall’s latest owner, Xander Patrick.
Xander’s father died when he was only thirteen, and he doesn’t hold many good memories of him. He helped his mum build Mallard Hall back up, and since her death struggles to keep it going single-handedly. The last thing he needs is a meddling journalist poking into estate business, especially when the meager profits are mysteriously disappearing.
The two try to keep their distance but find themselves drawn together in many unexpected ways. A meal leads to an investigation of secret passageways and from that India and Xander explore their attraction, using different rooms of the hall for their kinky games.
In the end India’s secret will have to come out, but will it bring the couple closer together or tear them apart?

Excerpt from Good Manors:
“Do you know what you’re doing?” he asked once I had my arm inside his very expensive sheep.
“Bit late to ask that now, but yes, I trained to be a vet for a while.” I smiled over at him then cocked my head to the side. “Ah, there’s the problem, little ones got its elbows locked and mum can’t push it any further down.”
Scrunching up my face, I concentrated on manipulating the lamb backwards a bit until the legs extended straight.
“Right.” I pulled my hand free. “She should be able to do the rest herself.”
“How did you know what to do?” Xander asked as Harriet once more shivered and shook with a contraction.”
“Veterinary school, like I said. Mum wanted me to be a doctor, I couldn’t stomach it so we compromised and trained to be a vet. It wasn’t my calling, though, and after two years I changed my degree to journalism and the rest is history.”
“So you’ve done this before? I mean, practically.” Xander carefully watched Harriet, petting her nose tenderly.
“No, I only ever read about it.” I looked up from washing my arms in the soapy water, my face held in solemn lines.
His face dropped, and I laughed. “Of course I’ve done it before, spent time with a country vet in the spring. I brought many animals into the world, including a few sheep.”
“Good, sorry, I’m a bit all over the place. Harriet means so much to me, to the hall, I didn’t know what to do. I’ve read up, I talked to the vet but I just froze.” He sighed. The poor man was seriously frazzled.
“It’s okay.” I ran my hand down his arm. “It’s difficult to know when to intervene and you can do more harm than good if you don’t know what you’re doing. Hey, look, the nose is appearing.”
I’m sure the relief showed through my voice. I was confident that the birth was finally going the way it should.
“Oh yeah.” Xander’s face lit up. “Look at that!”
“Won’t be long now. Look, already the legs are following through!”
“It’s amazing,” he gasped.
“A miracle,” I sighed as the little life burst forth from the relieved ewe. She immediately set to looking after her offspring, licking its face to remove the mucus. Soon the little thing was bleating happily.
“Harriet’s a brilliant mum.” I smiled. “She’s a natural.”

Taken Identity

Thank  you so much for inviting me onto your blog, to show you a little of Taken Identity.
Taken Identity was so much fun to write. Yes, I know, I say that all the time, but I enjoy writing, and love adding humour to my stories.
However I also like to try to do a bit if 'what if' in my stories.
This what if is…
What if someone turns up on your doorstep looking for someone one with the same name.
Okay, not too much of a coincidence I guess especially if you're John or Joan Smith. But with the same description, and same job?
Then it gets a wee bit worrying.
So what would you do?
 The blurb says it all…

I was more than happy when my muse informed me that this story was set in my neck of the woods. It's one thing I try to do with everything I write. Set them somewhere I know and love.
Here's a wee tease…
Jules swiftly logged off her laptop and closed it down. Swivelling to pick up her bag from the floor caused her skirt to ride up her long legs, and her blouse to tighten around her breasts. She shovelled all her diaries into her bag and stood up. “I’m ready.”
“So am I,” he said.
Oh, yes, she could see that and realized just how ready he was. Just a pity he couldn’t show her. Although, she didn’t need to look far to discover for herself a rough idea—fitted trousers were not the best thing for hiding an erection, especially not one with the strength of his.
Jules found her eyes drifting downwards. She had to recheck. Being Jules, she just had to comment. “Wow, aren’t you just? Is all that for me?”
“Well, there’s no one else here who can arouse me like you seem to. Without trying.”
She cocked her head to one side. “Do not put thoughts into my head, Gray. Or I will try. Hard.”
Gray stared at her, surveyed her. His eyes were bright, and she shivered. As he looked at her breasts, she felt her nipples tighten beneath the thin material of her top and knew he could see this evidence as easily as she felt it.
“By all means, try,” he said cordially, in invitation. “But beware the consequences. Try as hard as you like. Make me hard. Christ, make me come, if you want. Because, I want. To come, hard, with you, in you, on you—your choice, Jules. How and when. But know this. You try anything, and I’ll try back, and succeed. I don’t give up my dominance unless I chose to. On this occasion I don’t think that’s at all likely.”

*****

Judging by the look on his face, he was waiting for a smart comeback. For the life of her, she didn’t have one. There was nothing she could think of to say. Instead, she walked to the door. “Shall we?”
Gray pondered. “Oh, we shall Never fear. But for now, let’s head to your home.”
Jules choked on a splutter.
“Do you know, Jules, although this sexually charged repartee is enjoyable, the hard-on I have to suffer—and suffer is the word—bloody well is not. I hope you’re feeling as horny and frustrated as I am. I want nothing more than to strip you, hold you down and fuck the living daylights out of you. Then tan your arse until it’s as red as your hair. So now you know.” His voice was hoarse.
“Ah. Okay. Um. Oh, good. Thank you, I think.”
“Take it from me, once I sort this whole sodding mess out, find out about my is-she-or-isn’t-she wife—who I hasten to add is responsible for all the negatives in my life at the moment—I won’t let you from under me for a week.” He stopped, and she watched, fascinated as a wolfish grin spread over his face. “Except to put you over me, in me, around me…”
He shrugged. “Until that time comes, until I sort this unrepeatable bleep of a woman out, I guess I will be worshiping at the shrine of Pam and her five sisters. That is a journey I’ve rarely undertaken these last few years.”
Jules looked at him blankly before bursting out laughing. “Pam and her…? Oh my God, what an expression. I love it.”
Gray’s face was almost the colour of her hair. “Trust me when I say I don’t. Having to use her, I mean. Hell, it’s not something I’ve had the need or desire for since I was a scrubby schoolboy. Not until you came on the scene.”
Typical man, blame her for—well, Jules, she thought, actually, it is a compliment. What she was going to do about it, she wasn’t sure yet. Yes, she might fancy the pants off him, but there was way too much baggage being carried about to even contemplate what she was contemplating. Wasn’t there?
As he followed her to the door, holding it open to allow her to precede him, Jules felt his eyes fixed steadily on her rear.
“Stop ogling,” she snapped. Grief, had her moods ever been so mercurial before?
“Careful, pet.” His voice was level, but his determination rang out loud and clear. “You’ve had a lot of leeway, and if you want us to go back to being virtual strangers with no electricity and tension between us, now’s the time to say so. Otherwise, I’ll ogle if I so choose. It gives me something positive, something good to look at and think about. It is a perfect rear view and perfect front view, as well, if I’m honest.”
Shit, talk about embarrassment.
“Yes, sorry, Sir.” Where on earth had that come from?
“Not yet, pet, but soon, I hope.” He must have guessed she was self-conscious about her slip, because he changed the subject with aplomb.
“What about dinner? Shall we eat now, or can we call for something later?”
She laughed aloud at that. “Typical townie statement that, Gray. Who d’you think will deliver to us out in the sticks? There’s no conveniently situated take-away. However, if you’re happy with home cooking, there’s no problem.”
Gray stared at her, looking as if he could hardly believe his ears.
“Replay what you said. Home…cooking. Oh, yeah, sadly, I did mishear. You said cooking. Cooking. With a C.”
Huh? Oh, that was it. She was going to have to go to meditation or hypnosis or something to learn how to control this awful blush. The raised eyebrow, the quirk of his lips, his pointed look down his body to a very, “Hey, look, I’m here. Don’t forget me,” part of his anatomy, made her giggle. He was not such a stuffed shirt after all.
“Anyway,” he continued. “If you are sure you don’t mind, I’d love some home cooking. I eat just about everything.”
“Tripe and onions?”
“Er, almost anything, Jules. Don’t think that covers tripe.”
She was aware of how he held himself rigid, presumably to stop the involuntary shudder that had started, and she noticed his erection had completely subsided. Now she knew what she had to do if he became too aroused. Mention tripe.

Fortune: Arcanium Book 1 Blog Tour and Giveaway

I’m not a BDSM writer, at least not in the sense of contracts, safewords, clubs, and communication. It’s not that I don’t like these things—on the contrary, in the real world, they’re awesome. However, in the fictional world, I prefer to write less codified BDSM. Almost everything I write has those elements in a more organic, natural way, particularly my favorite—power disparity. For the Sanctuary series, it was anxious little Renee against the much more powerful and older werewolf Grant. For the Bloodbound serial, it was Julia against the much more powerful and older vampire.

In Fortune, it’s the fierce but small Maya against the much more powerful and older immortal jinni. Notice a trend? Never let it be said I don’t have a type.

But it’s not a shallow type fantasy. I’ve had a version of it for as long as I can remember, dating back to early readings of Dracula. The things that strike a chord deepest and darkest inside of us stick around for quite a while. Sometimes you end up writing to the tune of that chord for the rest of your life because that’s the niche where you’re most richly fulfilled.

If you’ve read the impressive reader advisory for Fortune, you’ll know that Fortune goes into some pretty dark places. From the very beginning, there’s intense chemistry between Maya and Bell, in part fueled by the aforementioned power disparity, not to mention the matter of captivity.

However, it isn’t until Maya combines the wish that brought her into the demonic circus Arcanium and her own desire for absolution after a wish gone terribly wrong that she—rather than Bell—instigates the Master/slave relationship. For punishment. In a deep-seated need for masochistic submission in order to handle and process what she’s unleashed with her wish. Bell, with all his power, doesn’t trigger the arrangement, but he sure as hell takes it by the reins and takes her over completely, in all the ways she does and doesn’t want. If she wants pain, she’s going to get it. If she doesn’t want to allow herself pleasure, he’ll compel it upon her. That’s what they agreed to, and Maya’s terrified she’ll develop a taste for it.

It’s delicious, it’s dark, it’s utterly delectable from the first hint of flirtation through the development of their unconventional relationship, and I can’t tell you how much I look forward to other people experiencing it with Bell and Maya as well.

If BDSM, or this particular brand of it, isn’t to your taste, don’t worry. This circus has a little something for everyone. Each story is about a different character, with different trials and tribulations, with different wishes and different curses keeping them there. You’re bound to find something that sparks your interest or curiosity.

Welcome to Arcanium.

Blurb for Fortune:

He’s the reason to be careful what you wish for.

After her jealous boyfriend makes an angry, careless wish, Maya DeLuca finds herself trapped in a traveling demonic circus and at the mercy of a devious jinni, Bell Madoc. She joins the other lost souls of Arcanium who suffer in perpetual purgatory under the weight of their wishes, all making the best of a cursed situation.

But Maya’s not even cursed because of her own wish, which means she still has three for Bell to grant.

He may be fond of her—the passion they share is as hellfire hot as it is wrong—but that doesn’t mean she’s safe from his endlessly inventive, wicked imagination. He might twist her wishes at his whim for his own pleasure. Or he might just give her what she wants…which could be even worse.

Excerpt from Fortune:

“If the Ringmaster’s whip makes you think you’re being treated fairly, Maya, I am sure we can come to some arrangement. However, if you go to the Ringmaster with your needs, I require that you limit the damage—the potion does wonders, but some scars run deeper than the healing can reach, and we already have enough scarring down there, don’t we? I will still heal you after your sessions with him, but I will permit them if you feel you need them. Ten lashes a week until you feel forgiven. Does that sound fair?”

“Not enough,” Maya muttered.

“That’s not what I asked. There are other ways to pay. I am offering you one method, but I will only allow so much.”

“Fine,” she said.

“The whisper through your mind is that you want your sessions Saturday evenings.”

A masochistic Mass—the phrase that broke through the fog.

“It would be more convenient during the week when we’re on the road or setting up, but I am sure the Ringmaster will not object. I keep the Ringmaster sated, but it’s important not to give him too much or else he’ll crave more. Do you understand?”

She nodded.

Bell laved over her folds, tracing up and down the labia before swiping through and tasting the wet entrance to her cunt.

Another involuntary reaction, another betrayal.

“What are you doing?” Maya asked, shifting to twist around, but in her position it was hard to move, and her muscles didn’t particularly want to after what she’d put them through.

“I should think that would be dreadfully obvious,” Bell replied, speaking into her inner thigh before returning to her cunt.

“I don’t want to feel—” Her moan cut her off as he slipped a hand underneath her and palmed her clit with broad, luxurious strokes.

“Oh, but you do,” Bell said. He kissed up her spine until he lay on top of her, his cock resting heavy and full against her ass. “You want to feel so much. I can help you. I can punish you, Maya. I desire to give you pleasure, and you will accept it. You will do as I tell you. You will obey my every wish, no matter how uncomfortable you become, because it will eventually give you the pleasure that I crave to offer.”

“That doesn’t sound like punishment,” Maya said.

“Give it time,” he said.
