Will has no interest in women. He thinks them all animals to
be trained, beaten. It doesn't take him long to discover his preference for
men, but time and error reveal how wrong view toward women is. Before long, he

Here is an excerpt from Slave:
“William.” Sophia’s voice, as it always did, resounded with
authority. “I cannot do what you ask.”
“Why not?” he asked, disappointed. He had spent nights in
their beds, but he’d also spent evenings with his head in their laps, listening
to them talk of their lives, their pets or clients. He’d learned when and how
each had become a vampire. He knew what it entailed, what to expect. He didn’t
expect Sophia to be so reluctant.
“I saved you from death at that monster’s hand so you could
have a life. Not so you could become one of the walking dead.” She turned away,
her skirt swirling. Like the others, she had been to a party tonight and was
still dressed for it. Will approached slowly and began unbuttoning the back of
the dress. “I saved you to have a wife and children. I had hoped you would help
other slaves. I never wanted this.”
She stood in place and Will gently caressed the skin of her
back as he exposed it. He kissed the back of her neck beneath her elaborately
styled hair. Despite his desire for stronger, broader shoulders, for a man’s
cropped hair, he continued to lay kisses and caresses on her milky, white skin.
His thick, dark fingers looked so strange against it. Like a parody of the
memory of thin, white fingers on black.
“I would live, forever. Please, consider it.” He breathed
into her ear, wrapping his hands around her waist and pulling her back against
him. His erection had risen despite finding a woman where he wanted a man. He
had found a soul that pleased him. “I love Nicholas, and Terrance, and Lynn. I
want to be with them, with you.”
Sophia sighed. “You have changed so much.” She pulled
herself from his grasp to turn and face him, cupping his cheek in a gloved
hand. “You wouldn’t meet my eye before. You wouldn’t have this for me.” Her
other hand brushed at his belt.
“No. I feel...like so much more, Sophia.” She started a
little at the sound of her name. It was the first time he’d used it. “I know so
much more, from books and from life. I know the worth of a woman, and it is
infinite, just like mine.”
She smiled. “Much more than a dollar.”
