Synopsis

Two men who meet in a psychiatric institution couldn’t possibly find happiness together—could they? The world seemed to be telling disgraced former child star and singer Cameron Fox that he would never be happy again. A drunken car accident gets him sentenced to a work-release at Riverbend Behavioral Health Facility. Reclusive, traumatized writer Jonah Radley has an entire graveyard of skeletons in his closet. Jonah regularly hospitalizes himself for psychotic episodes caused by a horrific childhood trauma, his biggest secret—one he refuses to speak about in therapy. Jonah and Cameron form a bond inside the hospital, forged in mutual pain and hope for a better life. Once they leave the hospital, they must decide if they are brave enough to explore the intricacies of living with mental illness—and find a new normal together.

Excerpt

Jonah was feeling particularly lucid that day. He hadn’t seen any dead relatives, nothing had burned, and he actually felt like he was inside his own body, for once. He knew it wouldn’t last. It was a constant feeling of dancing on the edge of the cliff, just waiting for the one misstep that would send him plummeting into the void again. He sat in the rocking chair, the one that had become known as ‘Jonah’s chair,’ and watched Harry the groundskeeper shovel snow off the patio next to the picture window. The scoliotic old man bent to sprinkle handfuls of rock salt over the pavers before moving on farther into the courtyard. As usual, Jonah lost himself in the warmth of the blanket of sunlight, so much so that he was startled when he sensed a presence behind him. It was just a change in the air, a shift of the molecules, and then a new scent—sharp and heady, a mixture of cedar smoke and Old Spice. Jonah had smelled it before, yesterday. He didn’t need to see to know that the sparkly new probie was standing behind him. And just like that, just picturing the man in his mind with his weird, shaggy blond hair, dark blue eyes, and boyish features, Jonah remembered. He’d been much younger then, the boy on the TV that his mother had sat him in front of when she couldn’t deal with his damning silence anymore. That boy, his sweet face, and even sweeter voice, had saved Jonah more times than he could count, just kept him hanging on for one more day. Staring unblinking out the window, Jonah breathed deep of that fragrance and addressed the spectral memory of Kyle Chase. “I know you,” he whispered. The air stilled as the movement behind him ceased, as if the other man had turned to stone. “I loved you once.” Footsteps. Soft, padding, staccato beats of leather against linoleum, until Jonah was face to face with his boyhood crush. Well, more like face to chest, since Jonah was seated and Kyle was looming over him. He wasn’t Kyle, of course, not really. Though Jonah strained, digging through layers of memory, he couldn’t extract the boy—man’s real name. “Excuse me?” Not-Kyle asked, bushy eyebrows raised toward his hairline. Jonah tried for a rueful smile, and he could practically hear his skin cracking with the effort. “Sorry, probie. It’s well known around here that I don’t make any sense. What I meant was ‘I used to watch your show.’” “Oh. I, uh… really?” Jonah half coughed, half grunted, because it was as close as he ever got to a laugh. “That surprises you?” “Yes—No! I just sometimes forget that the people who used to watch my show are all grown-up now. Most of the time, I still feel like a kid, so it kind of catches me off guard.” He ran a hand through that mop of messy hair—bleached blond like he was still playing a Cali surfer boy on TV—then squatted down so that he was on Jonah’s level. “I think you’d be the first one to call me a grown-up. I’ve been called a lot of things, but never that. Besides, I’m not as old as I look.” “Yeah? How old?” “Twenty-three.” “Oh. Wow.” “Yeah, I know. That’s what hard living and insanity will do to you,” Jonah explained without a hint of malice. “Oh, no. I’m sorry, that came out wrong… You don’t look bad. It’s the opposite, really. You look… yeah, anyway, you’re right, you do just look older than twenty-three. Not in a bad way.” “Easy there. It’s really okay. I’m pretty hard to insult. Most of the things you could think of to say about me would be true anyway.” Jonah wiped his sweaty palms on his sweatpants and reached on out to him. “Jonah Radley.” “Cameron Fox.” Cameron took his hand, shook it, lingered just a second longer than was proper. “I have to admit, I was wrangling for an introduction because I couldn’t remember your real name. I figure you probably wouldn’t want me calling you Kyle.” Cameron’s laugh was soft, cozy, like a splash of honey in some warm Earl Grey. “No, I guess not. It’s nice to meet you, Jonah Radley. Radley, that’s an unusual name.” “Indeed it is. Not as unusual as you’d think, but yes… I did have to deal with the well-read students in school calling me ‘Boo’ all the time. But this is rural Appalachia, so it wasn’t always a problem if you get my drift.” Jonah could see it took Cameron a moment to get the reference, but when he did, he chuckled again. “So what made you decide to join the wonderful world of psychiatric care?” Jonah asked. Something flashed in Cameron’s eyes, a cloud, a moment of indecision, before he answered. “I got arrested.” “Ah, you’re one of Rohan’s boys.” Jonah kept his voice neutral, careful not to seem like he was judging, because people in glass houses and all that… “A probie in every sense of the word.” Cameron lowered his head, studied the ugly, weathered linoleum. “Unfortunately.” “Hey, we all have pasts. At least you have a future.” That blond head snapped up, and Cameron gaped at him. “So do you, Jonah.” Jonah shook his head sadly, then caught sight of a pair of dark, yawning eye sockets peering through the window. One of the dead girls, of course, just when he was starting to feel human again. He didn’t make eye contact when he spoke to Cameron. “You should go now,” he whispered. “Jonah…” “Go!” Jonah shouted it, his voice tinged with desperation. He never cared before, but he didn’t want this man to see him disappear, to see him float. His eyes welled up, something that hadn’t ever happened at Riverbend before, and he felt ashamed. “Please.” “Probie!” Rohan’s rich tenor rang out across the buzzing air, slicing the tension between them. Cameron tensed, and his feet seemed to obey Rohan before the rest of him caught up. He cast one more sad, sidelong look at Jonah before he was led away. Once he was alone, Jonah began to shake. Shivering violently though he was burning up inside, Jonah felt tears sear flaming rivulets down his cheeks. He dug the heels of his hands into his eye sockets until they ached, and eventually the tears stopped. Then there was nothing left but smoke.

A Short Interview with J.K. Hogan

n  Do you have any strange writing habits?
Not really, because my kids don’t give me the luxury of habits. I have to write when I can, however I can. The only thing that’s kind of a quirk is how I come up with ideas. I need a mundane activity to occupy my brain while my subconscious works out plot ideas, so usually driving or showering is where it happens.

n  Just as your books will inspire others, what books have inspired you?
Well reading Nora Roberts initially inspired me to start writing, back in my days of reading m/f sweet romance. But the series that really inspired my love of books was the Redwall series by the late, great Brian Jacques. As far as m/m, the first one I ever read was The Dickens With Love by Josh Lanyon, so you could say that’s the one that started it all.

n  What do you consider to be your best accomplishment (writing or life)?
Of course, first and foremost I would say my sons are my greatest accomplishment. In writing, I think just getting published to begin with and keeping it up. It’s harder than people who’ve never done it will ever know.

n  Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Sorry to say, I’ll probably be a bit of a soccer mom (mom of two boys here)…or whatever activity my kids do. I hope to still be going strong with writing and still making myself happy doing what I love.

n  If you had a super power, what would it be?
I’d have the power of invisibility. Can you imagine all of the stuff I could learn for my books if I could go anywhere without being seen?
Get your minds out of the gutter, I didn’t mean it like that!

Claiming the She Wolf: Review and Interview

Black Hills Wolves
Claiming the She-Wolf by Louisa Bacio
When her older brother leaves the Black Hills to go to college, Tala Graystone stays behind, determined to restore their dilapidated home into a B&B for the pack. As more people return to the area, the need for temporary housing increases. Now, if only she can find someone to help with the heavy lifting.
Yas Collins fled Los Lobos as a child with his mother. As he struggles with his wolf and overpowering shifts, a desire for nature and the forest strikes hard. Black Hills, South Dakota, beckons him. With a background in construction, he easily finds work at Tala’s dilapidated B&B, but not everyone in town greets him with open arms.
As the remodel gets underway, Tala and Yas fight their growing attraction. Yas doesn’t trust his wolf urges around beautiful B&B owner. The she-wolf, however, has other plans.

Excerpt from Claiming the She-Wolf:

A growl from low in his throat threatened to escape. The rumble started in his chest, and he fought to keep it down.
She turned, looking down at him. “Did you say something?”
“Umm, no. Just clearing my throat.”
He needed to get his base instincts under control. Recent research showed that wolves in the wild killed in order to protect their domains and to get more space. He didn’t want to be ruled by his wolf. He’d grown up in the city, with humans, not out in the forest. His mom had tried to talk to him about shifting, but as a woman, she didn’t have the same experience.
He couldn’t go to a shifters anonymous group for help with his sexual urges. Maybe he needed to start his own support group. He snorted at the idea. At the top of the landing, Tala turned to the right, and he followed.
They entered what had to be the master bedroom suite. It was painted a vibrant lavender color, and the bed had a green floral comforter with an abundance of fluffy throw pillows. White dollies rested on the two nightstands, and a vase of wildflowers called for attention. The feminine room seemed in sharp contrast to his host. She didn’t look frilly.
“This will be your quarters.” Her lips pursed, and she blinked a few times.
The idea shocked him. “What? I’m sorry, but it looks like your room.”
“Well, it has been. But it’s the nicest room in the house, and as a guest, figure you should have it to be comfortable. I’ll move my things into another one.”
He waved his hands in front of him, as if shooing away something physically bad. “No way. No can do. Give me the second best, then. My first job can be fixing it up.”
She smiled. “Well, second best would be my brother’s room, and even though he’s on a trip right now, I don’t feel comfortable moving his stuff. So third best, and we work today to make it more, um, livable?”
Her choice of words made him pause. “Deal.”

Author Interview:

Why did you start writing erotic romance?
I grew up with both of my grandmothers reading romance. One of my first books was Danielle Steele. On the other side, my grandmother taught high school English for 30 years, retired and then poured through two Harlequins a day.
I don’t exactly see it as writing “erotic romance,” but more about love and real relationships. In most courtships, they do have sex!
Name three things on your desk right now.
Pixy Stix, a cowgirl bottle opener and the Beast bobblehead (from X-Men).
Heels, flats or nothing at all?
Thongs or anything open-toed. I hate being confined.
Favorite dessert?
Vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. Love Farrell’s since it has lactose-free.
Burger or sushi?
Hmmmm. Pasta? I’m a total carbs gal.
What do you enjoy most about writing for the Black Hills Wolves series?
The sense of community is amazing. I like being able to step into this alternate world with so many other talented authors.
Tell us something about your main character that people will find interesting.
Yas has problems controlling his Wolf urges. Those desires fight to control him.
What is next up for you on the writerly horizon?

I recently got the rights back to the first book I ever sold – Sex University: Physical Education, and a new publisher, Riverdale Avenue Press, will be releasing it, along with a new short and full-length, The Master Class. It’s amazing to reflect back upon the work I’ve done and have the chance to make it better.

Review:

I love the Black Hills Wolves series and this book is right up there with the rest of them. Great book and I enjoyed the interplay between Tala and Yas. Good characters, spicy sex scenes and all the goodness that comes from reading a Louisa Bacio book. You can't go wrong.

Spring Fever: A Romantic Writerly Interlude with Barbara Winkes

1. How did you start writing romance?
I like a big bold Hollywood type of happy ending. When I first started watching lesbian-themed movies, I didn’t find but a few in that category--and don’t get me wrong, it is important to show history and a damaging effect of misogyny and homophobia, therefore those darker stories are relevant…but I wanted stories with a hopeful outcome, the type where you can practically hear the power ballad being played with the credits at the end. I wanted to write that kind of story about love perservering and two people meant for each other.
2. Plotter or pantster?
A bit of both--leaning towards plotter more now, mostly for the story arc. I believe the characters reveal themselves in the process, and there needs to be some room for surprises.
3. What are three things you have on your writing desk?
A pen, a coffee cup, to do lists. This interview is on one of them! J
4. Favorite food?
Italian. I enjoy all kinds of food, and I try something new when I have the opportunity, but there’s nothing that says comfort like pasta and pizza. When it’s the weekend, a good glass of wine doesn’t hurt either--right?
5. Tell us a little about your new print book. What character in the book really spoke to you?
If I say I have a favorite, I’m afraid the other one is not going to be happy…Kidding. Spring Fever is the third in my romance series, and both Callie and Rebecca have learned important lessons about themselves and their relationship. They don’t give doubts so much room anymore, and that strenghtens their connection.
6. I write because …
I couldn’t imagine not to.
7. What is your favorite type of character to write about?
Women who define their own fate.
8. What is the sexiest scene you’ve ever written?
Depends on what exactly you’re asking…It can be incredibly sexy to just have two people look at each other, fantasize, and the temperature in the room goes up by a few degrees. Talking about that kind of sexy scene, a fictional couple of mine once got creative in the laundry room. That’s pretty sexy.
9. What advice would you give new authors in the romance field?
It’s a highly competitive field, but not all romance readers are the same. You have to stick to your vision, define and find your audience.
10. What is next on your writerly horizon?
After Spring Fever, there’ll be three more publications, under contract with Eternal Press: The Interpretation of Love and the Truth (a standalone romance), Amber Alert (a mystery) and Open Spaces (an erotic romance). Of course there’s Callie & Rebecca #4 which I will submit soon.
11. Favorite cookie?
If it has chocolate in it…

About the author:

A psychologist/trauma counselor by training, Barbara Winkes left her native Germany to live with her wife in Québec City. Telling stories has always been her passion. She loves to write suspense and romance with female protagonists who try to solve the puzzle of their love life, a murder case, or sometimes, both.

~ Lesbian fiction with high drama and happy endings ~
Barbara's debut novel Autumn Leaves and the follow-up Winter Storm, published by Eternal Press, tell the love story between two women in a small town, where neighbors take an interest in the life of others. The thriller Secrets followed November 2013. Upcoming publications include Spring Fever, book #3 of Callie and Rebecca’s story, the standalone romance The Interpretation of Love and the Truth, the mystery Amber Alert and the erotic romance novella Open Spaces.

Timeless Night: A Visit with Torie James

If you could live forever, what would you choose to live for? I chose love...

A silent guardian, Alexander has walked the corridors of time in pursuit of an end to a haunting prophecy. Sabrina has lived a life surrounded by modern magic, unaware that the greatest and deadliest of powers reside within her own soul. If it only takes the light of love to ignite the stars, what of the decadent seduction of darkness? All roads don’t lead home and some myths only grow into legend.

Excerpt:

"Did you do that?"
"Do what? Screw up a perfectly good cake? Yes, yes I did."
He moved to her side. "No. I mean, did you make the fire go out?"
"What? I don’t know. No. Yes. Maybe. Why?" She slid her eyes up to his and he was taken aback by the venom in that gaze.
"What’s wrong with you?"
"You want the whole list or just the Cliff Notes?" She frowned back down at the pan and snorted in disgust at the blackened lump and shook her head. "Sorry about your oven. And pan. Cooking was never a strong point." She evaded answering his question.
"Then why did you start it?" He watched her agitated actions as she tried to dump out the "cake", shoving it down the garbage disposal with a wooden spoon. She was upset about something but for the life of him, he couldn’t figure out what.
"My Huntress, what’s wrong?"
"Stop that! Just stop that!" She threw the switch on the disposal, keeping her face from him.
"Stop what?" He was genuinely confused.
"That whole "my huntress" bit. I’m not yours." Killing the switch, she mindlessly cleaned up her mess, stepping around him, still not making eye contact then she switched topics. "What are you doing home already anyway? Thought you’d be out for hours or whatever. You know, hunting." The way she curled her lip on the last word wasn’t lost on him.
"Sabrina, it’s necessary I make sure there are no more loose rogues running through the city, I told you that. The last thing we need is an army sneaking up on us. We need to fo—"
"Focus. Yep. I know." She made to go around him again as she grabbed at some dusty measuring cups, but he snaked out a hand and pulled her closer.
"What is wrong with you? And don’t bother ly—"
She cut him off curtly. "Lying? Because you’ll know? Does that line work on all women or do you just save it for me?" Her angry, bright eyes met his again, her tone derisive as she forged on, not letting him answer. "Fine, want to know what’s wrong? You. You’re what’s wrong. You come blowing into my life looking like yummy wrapped up in delish, turn me into a vampire...excuse me...a guardian...my bad. Then you make me live in this freaking palace with you. One minute you’re either chastising me or you’re turning me on, and then pushing me away. And all the while, feeding me some mythical crap story about how I’m your dead wife and then leave me here, alone, while you go off and fang fuck God knows how many women and I have to..."
Alex was close to losing it, half torn between laughing at her obvious jealousy and growling with displeasure at how she wasn’t seeing the larger picture at all. He yanked her even closer.
Again, bad idea.
Her unfettered, sweetly rounded breasts crushed against his hard chest, causing her to squeak and him to moan, whispering low. "Are you truly being obtuse or do you just enjoy torturing me?"
"Torture you? Torture You? What about me? I go my whole damn life wondering when or if, I’ll ever know what it feels like to desire anything other than work and there you are. But you can’t stand touching me. I’m repulsive."
He wanted to shake her, throttle some sense into the stubborn package that was Sabrina. "So, the concerns of a thousand years mean nothing to you? Or the fact that I’m trying desperately to figure out how we keep the past from repeating itself and all you’re concerned with is having sex?"
"Oh, way to trivialize my feelings. Thanks."
"They are trivial compared to everything else, yes. You think I’m not touching you because I find you revolting?" He pushed her back against the counter, a devil on his shoulder as he slowly ground his hips into her, letting her feel the steely bulge of his erection. "Does that feel like I’m disgusted by you?"
"Then why? Why won’t you...?" She bit off her own low growl, shoulders slumping in defeat even as her arms slid around his waist unconsciously, keeping them together. "Why won’t you make love to me?"
"Did you ever think for a moment in your lovely, outraged sense of dramatics that perhaps I don’t want to do anything that will harm you more than help?" He couldn’t be this close to her without his heart hitching painfully, his instincts keening as the sleeping beast struggled to take over. The fact remained it was becoming harder and harder to resist her, to resist the passion that was clearly there between them. It was much stronger this time around. Much.
"Alex." Her voice was husky, sincere. "I read your other journal. I know you think that making love will somehow make me more vulnerable. That you felt you had diminished Vivianne’s power somehow. But, I don’t think that’s it at all."
"You read that?" A low growl rumbled deep in his chest. "Break into my things, did you?"
"Recon work. That’s my story." She snaked a hand up his back to curl around his neck. "Alex. You didn’t do anything wrong. Neither did Vivianne. Why do you think it made her vulnerable?"
He set his face mulishly. "Merlyn once said that her power lay in her purity. She died the day after I made her mine." His haunted tone was thick. "Merlyn also said he thought she was invulnerable to mortal weapons and yet Mordred ran her through and pierced her heart. Tell me how that was not my fault? I’m not willing to risk you like that. Do you understand me? I won’t sit by and watch you die. Not again."
He lowered his head even as he spoke, unable to stop the scorching, needy kiss that had her clutching at his back and him lifting her slightly onto the counter. She wrapped her legs around him tightly, body arching under the contact. He was going up in flames, and knew she was melting into a puddle of need and arousal, he felt it for one hot moment.

1. How did you start writing erotic romance? I’d tried several genres before I returned to what I loved most which is erotic romance. Nothing immerses me more in fantasy or makes me feel more magical than the world of romance. That’s not to say I won’t attempt to tackle other genres at some point, but for now, if it ain’t broke, no need to fix it.

2. Plotter or pantster? Both! It’s a sickness from which I’m afraid there is no cure. I have the best of intentions at the beginning of each book but usually two to four pages in, all my meticulous planning sails right out the window and I’m pantsering it big time!

3. What are three things you have on your writing desk? My Harry Potter Wand, the framed copyright to Timeless Night and my big ol’ Owl decorated sippy cup.

4. Favorite food? Taco pie! My mum makes the best!

5. Tell us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to you? Timeless Night is the first book in my New Camelot series. I took all the worn out, done to death, tales of Camelot, Merlin, Arthur and Excalibur and refashioned them, retooled them. What if Excalibur hadn’t been a mystical, mythical sword? What if it was more? What if all that legendary power was actually embodied in a person? And what if decisions made a thousand years ago were still being played out today? Of all my characters in this book, I’d have to say the character who haunted me most was Alexander, the Knight formerly known as Lancelot. To love like that? To have that kind devotion and soul? To carry the burden he has since one rainy day in Wales...well, he and I had many heart to heart chats. I like to think I helped to heal him as much as Sabrina, my heroine, did.

6. I write because ____...its unbearable to NOT write.

7. What is your favorite type of character to write about? Women with massive flaws. Imperfect and a bit loony in their ways, yet strong and independent.

8. What is the sexiest scene you ever wrote? Mmm! The first sex scene with Alex and Sabrina in Timeless Night. Dark, heated, a bit of the kink thrown in for their public display of affection. *winks*

9. What advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field? Don’t give up. Ever. It will be hard, you will want to quit and you will find yourself wondering if it’s ever going to be worth it. It is. Trust me.

10. What is next on your writerly horizon? Book 2 of New Camelot, Timeless Desire, will be available on March 21st, through the fab peeps at Breathless Press. I’m so excited! And I’ve submitted the beginning of what I hope turns out to be a new series called The Cloie Chronicles. That’s about the Greek Goddess of Fate, Clotho. Torn between two men who want her and the secret they all share. And...I’ve already begun working on Book 3 of New Camelot, Timeless Seduction.

Olivia Starke: The Interview

1. How did you get started writing lesbian erotica/romance?
Industry need, I guess, the F/F sub-genre is finally starting to get its toehold in the market. I love reading F/F, especially erotic romance and erotica. The steamy relationship between two or more women is thrilling, sometimes more so (at least for me) than what can be found in M/F romance. I love expressing this part of my sexuality, and I hope readers enjoy reading it just as much as much as I like writing it.

2. Tell us about the delicious characters in your new vampire novel.
Natasha is a TV news reporter in a relatively small town. She's career driven and stuck in a rut in a place that doesn't fully respect her skills or her gender, for that matter.  Determined to make her mark in journalism and move toward bigger and better things, she accepts an invitation to THE vampire ball of the year, the Vampire Masquerade, put on by she-vamps Aleese and Eaven.

Aleese has developed a crush on Natasha and Eaven loves indulging her wife, so they extend the invitation, with more wicked things in mind than Natasha is ready for.

Natasha is our eyes into this vampire sect, centering on two incredibly sultry she-vamps and their sumptuous world.

3. If I were your favorite cookie, what flavor would I be?
Oatmeal raisin. I don't know why lol I just like oatmeal raisin the best.

4. Heels or flats?
Both. Heels are so sexy and saved for special times. Flats for other times since I'm a klutz.

5. Tell us one thing about you that most people don't know.
I've been known to rock out in my car to White Snake.

6. Name three things on your desk right now.
Cell phone, dental floss, water bottle.

7. Plotter or pantster?
I used to be a hard core pantser, but now I'm a plotter.

8. What would you say to someone who has never read f/f before but is thinking about it?
READ IT! It's so much fun!

9. Do you write to music? If so-what?
No, because I can't focus. I LOVE my music, Godsmack, NIN, Rob Zombie to name a few, so that takes all my brain power when it's on.

10. What authors have influenced your work?
I get asked this again and again, but I don't think any particular author.

11. What's next in you writer's arsenal?I'm finishing up my first full length, a M/F contemporary erotic romance that I hope is contracted within the next couple of months :) After that I have several other projects, including a full length F/F I hope to finish by the end of the year.

Thanks so much for having me today, Erzabet!

Olivia Starke calls the Ozarks home. One of the most beautiful areas in the country, she loves hiking trails with her dogs, kayaking on the numerous waterways, and enjoying southern Missouri's fresh air and sunshine.

She's also 'Mom' to four dogs, a growing number of kitties that show up at her door, and four VERY spoiled horses that do little to earn their keep. Not that she'd ever hold that against them.

She's a HUGE fangirl of Doctor Who and to a lesser extent Supernatural, and has a pretty interesting love triangle (or square?) going on in her head between the Doctor and the Winchesters.

Red on the Moon: A Visit with Rhiannon Wellman

1. How did you start writing erotic romance?
By accident, i found a erotic story online and when I'd read all i could find I decided to have a go myself.
2. Plotter or pantster?
A little of both, I have a general idea of where I'm going with a story but I'm never sure how I'm going to get there.
3. What are three things you have on your writing desk?
Desk?  um well I have my laptop and my note pad that come with me everywhere. I don't actualy have a desk, but i always have a cold drink with me,my cat tends to follow me and I'm never without my phone.
4. Favorite food?
    Curry
5. Tell us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to you?
I've always liked shifter stories especially and I wanted to write one of my own. I love both my characters in this book for different reasons. Lucas and Toby will always have a special place in my heart. I can see myself writing another story with them in, they might even have a walk on in another story.
6. I write because ____...
Because I love to write, It's more a need to get the stories out of my head.
7. What is your favorite type of character to write about?
Like most girls I love my bad boys, a man with a bit of grit to him.
8. What is the sexiest scene you ever wrote?
I wrote a short story once that was basically a very long sex scene broken up by the need to eat and sleep. I included several kinks, toys, and logs of lovely detail.... I might even dig that out and see if i can brush it up a little.
9. What advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field?
Don't give up, you might get a few rejections, find out if there's anything particular they didn't like to give you something to work on.
10. What is next on your writerly horizon?
I have four stories on the go at the moment, I'm hoping to have one finished in the next few weeks, it's nearly done but i need to add a few things then read it over one last time.

Little does this ruthless killer know that the police officer tasked with catching him is a true werewolf. Possibly the most beautiful man he's ever seen. Together they will crack the case and find what each has always wanted, someone who's perfect for them.

Excerpt:

Making a snap decision Lucas followed Toby into their office and closed the door.
"Toby perhaps you should stay here and co-ordinate the operation with the Captain, or go to a different area," Lucas suggested hopefully.
Toby crossed his arms and glared at Lucas as if daring him to repeat himself. "How about you stay here and I'll go without you?" he suggested.
"You're not going out there without me," Lucas said angrily, crossing the room and getting into Toby's personal space.
Toby smirked. "So what makes you think I'll let you out there without me?"
"I, well, I... Damn it Toby," Lucas virtually shouted in exasperation. "Why won't you back down? What makes you so different?"
"Shut up and get out of my way. We have a case to solve. I won't ever back down when I'm not the one in the wrong and if you think I'm going to, then you're going to be sorely disappointed."
That was the moment; the exact second, that Lucas was sure, beyond reason, that Toby was intended to be his mate. He couldn't hold back the growl of arousal that escaped his lips moments before he brought them crashing down on Toby's.
Toby pulled back gasping. "We are not having sex in our office," he said firmly.
"Aww, but..." Lucas teased pushing Toby into his chair.
"Anyone could walk in," Toby panted.
Lucas could smell the arousal coursing through his partner. It was intoxicating.
"I'm not going to fuck you. But I need you too bad not to have you," Lucas walked over and locked the door before returning and dropping to his knees between Toby's legs.
"What exactly did you have in mind?"
"I want to see if you taste as good as you look," Lucas said, smirking at Toby's groan. "You best keep quiet. You don't want anyone coming to see what all the noise is about, do you?" Lucas undid Toby's trousers and encouraged him to lift up enough for him to pull them down to his knees.

Rhiannon has been making up stories as long as she can remember, admittedly they had less sex in back then. She never goes anywhere without a pen and notebook, and has often been known to stop mid conversation get a glazed look in her eye and need to write down a line, or even an entirely new plot line to add to her ever growing 'to do' pile.
Rhiannon's approach to writing, and life, is best described by the following conversation with her very understanding, and often bemused husband.
"You got bit by the plot bunny again didn't you?"
"Um maybe"
"Small bunny or big one?"
"It was a tiger in a cunning disguise."
When she's not writing she has a full time job and a family who she loves very much, she's very grateful for all the wonderful things in her life and hopes to keep writing for a long time. Working on her books is Rhiannon's escapism, she can lose herself in different worlds and situations, if for no other reason that’s the she will write for as long as she is able to hold a pen and paper and type on her ever present laptop.

So far Rhiannon has been published with Breathless Press three times, and plans to stay with them as long as she can feeling she's found a home with them and is quite happy to stay there in the company of like-minded people.
As Rhiannon likes to talk quite a lot she set up a page on face book where people can come and get information as it happens. She will respond to all messages sent to her, currently the page only has a little over 100 likes, but considering the short time she has had the page Rhiannon is thrilled with the response she's gotten.

She also has a blog, that’s updated as often as she can think of witty and interesting things to say, which is never as often as she'd like.
Rhiannon also has an account on Goodreads
