The second edition is a revamp of the first HEART OF DEATH graphic novel utilizing a few current techniques to update and enhance the first thirty pages of BOOK ONE ACT ONE.

The HEART OF DEATH CHRONICLES is an erotic graphic novel series based on the Perspehone and Hades myth. In this adapation, Hades is replaced by Thanatos Hades, nick named Thanos and Persphone is a lovely Island Noblewoman of mixed breeding.

ART DIRECTION -- the novel's illustrations, panels and layouts employ a number of feels and is not traditional in scope. This mixed media format allows the viewer to enjoy a number of moods captured by the art. There is a blend of styles balanced throughout the book, each employed to give a different feel depending on what the scene conveyed.

STORYLINE:

Death-Thanos falls in love with the lovely maiden after spying her dancing among tombstones in an old graveyard. Persephone, it would seem, has a penchant for dabbling in macabre musings, art and past times.

Death Thanos is intriguied by his mortal beloved -- only one snag. Death cannot consort with the living or take a soul before their allotted time. He can't even touch her as to do so would rob her of life.

Not to be defeated, Thanos turns to nephew Morpheus for aid and concocts a spell that will allow him to be with the object of his affections.

Thing is--Persephone may be none too keen on being the apple of Death's eye in spite of her dark nature.

ACT ONE introduces details of the couple's initial meeting and focuses on the Persephone the character.

Book One Act Two

In this installment of HOD, a love struck Death-Thanos enlists the aid of the chaotic and malleable Morpheus to create a sleep related spell that will enable him to seduce his lady love. Morpheus promises to do so but for a rather steep price...

As the spell will take some time to craft, Mo-Mo gives Thanos dream wisps as a bit of a consolation prize. The Wisps allow Thanos to navigate Persephone dreams in order to stoke her ardor so to speak--but he cannot satisfy his own urges..

A freaked out Persephone seeks her friend Abigail's advice on the nightly dream visitations and is none too thrilled when her BFF tells her that what Persi is really fighting against is her own budding attraction to the deity.

Book One: Act Three

Persephone finds herself at odds with confusing feelings regarding her dream lover Death-Thanos, penduluming between love and hate. Thanos finally procures the long awaited seduction spell from Morpheus and can now lure Persephone into the underworld to have his way for her--and does. He also makes good on his promise to Morpheus by handing over the Queen of the Shades, Tabietha, who is one too pleased with the arrangement.

This series is artfully done and with erotic flair, loosely follows the myth of Persephone and Hades. 


What I Liked:


The artwork in this series reminded me of a very well done video game with some very naughty players. I have never really viewed an erotic graphic novel before, so this was a treat. The characters  followed the mythology with some twists and turns and had some very spicy interludes. The scenes are done with panels of story line interspersed throughout so you are getting a full story, and not just panels of art. 


What I Didn't:


Not a thing. This was imaginative and well done.


Overall:


If you are a fan of erotic art, you need to check out this series. The graphics resemble a video game with some serious playtime going on. The women are voluptuous and sensual, the guys hunky and well...a picture is worth a thousand words, right? And there are lots of them. Excellent work. This is a story you could easily fall into and wish there was a game so you could steer the characters around and have a choose your own erotic adventure.

1. How did you decide to write erotica graphic novels?

  Well, I was a line artist for quite some time, and attended Bauder Fashion college  for a short while before I decided writing was my true passion and left to pursue that muse in the form of screenplay writing.  I then considered marrying my love for both script  writing and illustration in the form of a graphic novel entitled LA PETITE MORT, the catalyst for HEART OF DEATH.  In 1996, I published the pen an dink work on a site called BLACK EGG and received quite a it of interest.  Even so,  I felt my line drawing style was quite limited and soon began to pursue other avenues to bring the HEART OF DEATH world to life.  My Husband turned me on to the idea of animation and CGI illustration.  It took me a few months of self study but I took to it like a duck to water and never looked back.

2. How long have you been a graphic artist? 

I’d say going on 3 years now and still learning and growing.  Excited about some new techniques I have picked up to improve the look and feel of future films and illustrations.

3. Do you have any advice for artists who are interested in erotic art? 

Find other artists in the underground erotic art community.  They are always very helpful to newbies and don’t mind showing you the ropes.

4. What is your favorite sexy artist, other than yourself of course! 

Olivia and Erte – their style and expression is mind blowing.  They are the measure I attempt to reach.

5. What other things are you working on right now? 

I am working on HEART OF DEATH BOOK 2 BEYOND REDEMPTION where Persephone gets over her shell shock and decides to fight Death-Thanos in spite of her love for him.  Her confused and bemused friend Abigail decided to help her in spite of  her own conflicting feelings of love.  Of Course Thanos is going to have none of it, and Uses Morpheus considerable talents and skill to defeat Persi at every turn.

6. What are some of your hobbies outside of your graphic novel work? 

I used to be in a Party Band and I still enjoy music so singing is a hobby of mine—also enjoy watching and collecting limited edition hentai.

7. What is your weirdest habit as a writer and artist? 

  I dunno if it is a habit per se but I do have hard time working if my desk is too clean.  I almost get a block of sorts.  It has to be a bit cluttered.  I suppose it is the opposite of OCD in a way.  My mind is often a chaotic mix of visuals and words—so maybe the manifestation of chaos helps me straighten things out to a more linear pattern?  Ack, who knows.  I just love it all anywayz.
