by Amber Lin

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Shelly Laurent escapes her life as a high-class escort, but against her better judgment she takes the scared young Ella with her. In retaliation, her pimp and his dirty cops frame them both for murder. On the run, Shelly turns to the one man who could be her salvation: Detective Luke Cameron. She doesn’t know if she can trust him or if he’s just a mirage, but she needs his help to free them all.
With a heart forged in fire and irreverence born of necessity, Shelly fights Ella’s demons—and faces her own. She throws light on the shadows of Chicago’s underworld, challenging everything she knew and the man she’s come to love. Together, a prostitute and a cop fight for truth stronger than secrets, hope deeper than deception, and a bond more enduring than betrayal.
Excerpt Two: (Erotic Content)
I opened my mouth another degree, and he took full advantage, sweeping his tongue against mine. His hand touched the back of my neck in a mirror image of my gesture, except instead of a caress, he tilted my head back, deepened the kiss. He put me at a disadvantage. Yes, I want that too.
His other hand fumbled briefly at my jeans before slipping them down to my thighs. I felt helpless, blinded by the dark, pinned to the wall by his body and my own clothing. Even my hearing was altered, flooded by my harsh breaths and his. Any number of men had held full control over my body before now, but this was Luke, and how quickly he had done it, how easily he had rendered me willing and my consent irrelevant. I moaned my approval.
 “You’re doing it again,” he muttered.
“Doing what?”
“What you think I want.”
“How do you know it’s not what I want too?”
He paused. “Is it?”
I didn’t know. A soft, almost inaudible sob escaped.
“Shit.”
He pulled away, and I was sure it was over. Just like in his apartment, he didn’t want me anymore. But in seconds he returned, fierce, pulling at my clothes, tugging them down and away.
“Tell me to stop.” Harsh. Guttural.
“No, no.” Against the wall, I spread my arms like some sort of sacrifice, letting his hands and his curses crash over me. “Don’t stop.”
His hands parted my thighs. “You’re going to come for me, unless you stop me.”
I’ll make him want me. Both of us so determined. He would fuck me, and I would come, and then where would we be? Right here. No future, just sex. Broad fingers opened me for his tongue, pumped inside. I pushed back, halfway there.
I discovered that he swore during sex. I clenched every time, and God help me, he noticed, using it to bring me closer. “So fucking wet,” he muttered. “This can’t be fake. You didn’t lube yourself up before coming to see me, did you?”
That gave me pause, but then his finger reached a spot inside me, and I cried out.
“Shh.” He stood up, though his fingers stayed inside me, pressing right there, pushing and pulsing and oh Jesus right there. His hand covered my mouth, muffling my cries and catching a pool of tears on my cheeks.
“Let go, let go,” he muttered against my ear, and I didn’t understand. I had come, what more did he want? He explained with his hands, massaging my clit through the aftershocks until suddenly lights burst behind my eyes, and I came weakly against his palm.
Any time I read something by Amber Lin, I know it is going to gouge out my heart and stomp it. Flat. Oh yes, her books are to the core of every emotion possible, and this one hits the bottom on the very first page. Filled with dark imagery that fills the life of a woman on the edge, we meet Shelley. She is trying like hell to break out of a life she despises and goes to great lengths and personal risk to rescue under age girls that have fallen into the lifestyle of a paid by the hour escort.
One of the things that you notice right away is the depth of character and emotion we see from Shelley. She really, really hates what she has had to do to make a living. When we experience what it is like to try and apply for a job in the 'real world' it hits home in a big way.
As this story develops, the stakes only get deeper and the feeling of walking the wire gets more intense. Not for the feint of heart, this book goes right for the underbelly that you don't see much of in erotic writing. The ugly side. The sleazy guys that prey on underage girls and treat them like objects to lust after and treat like a punching bag. Kudos to Amber Lin for crafting a story that shows you the dirt and keeps you reading to find the inner story that shines through.
Catching Meara Tour
Catching Meara
by Christine Young
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Meara Thorton was a feisty, world class computer hacker—cornered by the FBI and shockingly given the chance to be their newly acquired technical analyst.  Brilliant and intuitive, yet aching with the loss of everyone she has cared about, her restless heart led her to discover a love she fought and a world she didn't know could possibly exist.

Jace McKenna was an enigma, a loner, impossibly handsome, sincere and committed. The Apache shapeshifter blood running through his veins burned hotter than the blistering Sierra Madre sun. Jace knew the moment he caught Meara's scent she was his for eternity.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt:
"I can't--sleep. I can't close my eyes."
"Why ever not?"
"I'm afraid that cat will show up again. Any suggestions? Any besides keep all the doors and windows closed?" Like a drill sergeant, she marched through his open front door.
She didn't hear footsteps behind her, but she did hear the door close. He was always as silent as cat stalking a mouse. She didn't sense his presence until his hands were on her and he was spinning her around. Surprised, she cried out. The spinning sensations caused her to stumble. She fell down to the floor and he followed.
She was beneath him and he was sprawled over her, taut, tense, his chest naked and the muscles rippling. She wanted to trace the rosettes on his body. They were everywhere and she'd never noticed how many he had. His eyes seemed to blaze, searing, into her. "Meara," he began. "Dear god, Meara." Then he fell silent. He groaned as his fingers moved into her hair...and he was kissing her...really kissing her.
Not as he had kissed her earlier. Not lightly, but with hunger, raw and animalistic. Openmouthed, his lips moved upon hers, wet, hot, enticing a response from her. His tongue swept her mouth, thrust inside and demanded she respond equally. Then he drew away, kissing her face, the tip of her nose, her closed eyelids. His tongue rimmed her lips before slipping inside her mouth again, so deeply the inferno raced throughout her body. She needed to touch him if only to reassure herself this too was not a dream.
She wanted to feel the warmth of his body and explore the contours that were all male animal, sleek and hard. And in turn she felt an overwhelming urge, the fire, and the desperation to have him at any cost.
His lips rose above hers just a fraction of an inch. She touched them delicately with her tongue, encircling them, nipping lightly. He held still to her gentle assault then swept his arms around her. Once again their mouth melded and the tasting and sweeping and hunger were shared. When they broke apart again, his hold on her eased, but the tension in him seemed greater, explosive. His breath fanning her cheeks, he whispered. "Meara, I'm sorry. I understand it's too soon. It's just..."
Beneath him she lay still, wondering what on earth was happening to her. It wasn't too soon. Yet maybe he had the right of it. Perhaps he didn't want her in that way. She had teased and taunted him, shown up at his door and practically begged for the kiss--for sex. Still she wondered how he could just walk away. It seemed to him the kiss was a mistake, but she'd live with the mistake and cherish the moment.
He was on his feet, one hand holding tight to his towel, the other reaching down to her, helping her to stand. She gazed at him, her fingers still entwined with his, her lips swollen and soft and wet from the kiss.
"Jace," she whispered his name. He didn't speak, and his eyes focused with hers. "I'm not what you want. I know I'm not the kind of girl..." Her voice trailed away miserably. She barely knew him, and she had imposed herself after long days at work. But she wondered if his desire was great enough, if she could seduce him.
"Meara, hush, you are exactly the kind of girl I would want." His voice was a low growl, his words fraught with tension, his eyes blazing.
Paradise Hops Super Book Blast and Review
Paradise Hops
By
Liz Crowe
BLURB:
A brutal attack left Lori Brockton convinced she was damaged goods. By the time she emerges from hiding two years later, ready to run her family's famous brewery, she's determined to be independent--never rely on anyone ever again. Nearly a year of working in every corner of Brockton Brewing Company, from warehouse to pub, front office to kitchen, teaches her all she needs to know about the business.
Then, she comes face-to-face with masculine perfection in a suit and her world is rocked in more ways than one. Garret Hunter is the new Brockton business manager who takes one look at the beautiful, sad young woman and his entire existence coalesces around winning her heart.
But standing between Garrett and what he believes is his true love, is a six-feet six-inch blond-haired bad boy brewer.
Eli Buchannan is a craft beer rock star, recently hired by Brockton to drag the company into the 21st century. He brings innovation and attitude plus a prima donna ladies man reputation.  But he's sworn off anything resembling commitment, personal or professional, after getting burned at his last job on both fronts.
Garret Hunter is “The Perfect Man” -- handsome, successful, stable, eager to settle down. Eli Buchannan... is not.  Compelling, smoking hot, creative and elusive, he represents everything Lori Brockton should avoid.  But just as she makes a difficult choice, a drastic life-changing shift occurs, and nothing is ever the same again.
Lori wrestled open the back brewery door, ears already ringing from the curses that echoed through the large, brightly lit room. The brewery boys, and three second brewers stood in a line, like they were in a marine barracks all looking as nervous as mice observed by a very hungry cat.
“And who the fuck,” boomed a voice, “might you be? No one told me there was a girl brewer in this place.”
As a reflex, Lori looked around, seeking out the girl who’d pissed off the faceless angry voice that must belong to Eli Buchanan their new master brewer. She’d been instrumental in convincing her father to hire the guy. He was a brewing celebrity, a genius, temperamental and prone to quit perfectly good breweries if the mood suited him. He was exactly what Brockton needed. They had to to get past their staid, complacent attitude in a rapidly changing craft beer environment.
“Yeah, I’m talking to you. The one who showed up fifteen minutes late for my morning staff meeting.” She flushed, frowning at the line of men, many of whom had worked for her father for years as they shuffled their feet and wouldn’t meet her eyes.  “Who the hell are you, and why are you on my brewery floor?”
She cleared her throat, squared her shoulders and channeled the anger building in her chest. “I’m Lori. Lori Brockton. This is the first day of my brewery rotation.” She hated how thin her voice sounded.
“Your brewery rotation eh?” She stepped back at the vision that emerged from between towering stainless steel fermentation vessels.  “What is this? Brewing Day Camp? I’m supposed to babysit the Brockton kids?” He glared at her, making her blink in the glare of his bright, steely blue gaze. Eli Buchanan was larger than life. At least six foot five, with long blonde hair held back by a small piece of leather. Clad in light blue jeans and a Brockton Brewing grey t-shirt, the span of his shoulders and definition of his torso forced an exhale from Lori’s lips. He kept quiet as her eyes took him in, from rubber boot clad feet to the light red hair covering his jaw. “Well? See anything you like?”
“Uh, no, I mean, it’s not camp. I mean, you are…I’m…” she stuttered, then stopped. The man stood stock still, glaring as if challenging her. She stood up straighter. “I’m here for the next six months to learn this part of the business. You know, so I can be your boss someday.” The man frowned at her. She frowned back.
Then he tilted his head back and laughed, stepped into her personal space and smacked her ass so hard she yelped. “I look forward to that day girl Brockton. Yes, I do.” A couple of the men started forward as if to protect her but she waved them back. This asshole had another thing coming if he thought she’d be intimidated by him. As much as she might have been at one point, something about him was as non-threatening as Garrett, but in a different way—a much more spine-tingling way.
The following ten hours of back breaking work nearly made her throw in the towel. But after an hour scraping out the last of a twenty barrel’s worth of wet, heavy spent mash—the leftover grains from a batch of beer made on their smaller system, she felt sore as hell, but invigorated. The smells, sounds and sights of this place, the heartbeat of the entire operation, the reason all three hundred of her father’s employees came to work every day, this she loved.
“Brockton!” An angry voice behind her made her jump and turn. Wet, sticky malt grains dripped from her face where she’d accidently splashed some onto herself as she cleaned out the large vessel. She swiped at them, smearing even more of the mess across her cheeks. Without warning, Eli wiped her face with a clean white towel, his touch surprisingly tender, lingering longer than necessary. But his frown stayed stuck in place.  She stepped away from him even though her body reacted, compelling her to move closer.
“Some guy in a tie is looking for you,” he jerked a thumb over his shoulder but didn’t move. Lori had no experience with hypnosis, but she’d swear at that moment he’d done it to her. They locked eyes, then the sound of harder heeled shoes on the concrete floor forced her look past him. Garrett’s bright smile was familiar, yet strange in the highly charged environment.
“I’m actually here to see you, Eli.” Garrett stuck out a hand and the other man looked at it, glancing over to Lori then back over before gripping it without a smile. “Glad to have you on board.”
Eli took his hand back, and swiped at it with the towel he’d used on her face. If he noticed the rude gesture, Garrett didn’t indicate it in the slightest. Impressed, Lori moved a step closer to him and glared at the tall, blonde man.
Eli shot her an unfathomable look, but spoke to Garrett. “Sorry, but no suits in the brewery. Wouldn’t want to get you messy.” He walked away, waving over his shoulder. “Glad to be on board, boss, thanks.” The sarcasm dripped from his words like venom. Garrett turned to her, his handsome face calm, as if the odd exchange with the rude employee had never happened.
The Review:
There is only one word that adequately describes this book. Wow.
From page one, I was riveted by author Liz Crowe's flowing prose and characters that come to life within the space of her words. Lori and Garrett are unforgettable and blaze trails of combustible heat everywhere they go. Then enter Eli and everything goes thermonuclear.
This book was out of this world, page turning material. The love triangle, Lori's trauma and her recovery and learning to cope with unimaginable loss and change are so intense I couldn't sleep until I had finished the book. Real life romance is indeed a great way to describe this book. Life isn't neat. It doesn't fit nicely into a box check right or wrong. It falls somewhere in the middle. Lori, Garrett and Eli are caught in the maelstrom of  emotion and what a ride it is.
Beer. This book gave me a greater appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes in a brewery and I found myself wanting to know more. It is not just beer. It is an art and a craft. Kudos to Liz Crowe for making me want to know more about a subject that would have had my eyes glazing over if anybody else had written it. Lol.
The other thing about this book is the way it is written. The speech patterns are real. Emotions run high, both in the head and the heart and you feel every single reaction yourself. The agony of Lori's trauma, the pain of trying to heal, the possibility of a perfect love the moth to a flame of a desire that could destroy everything. It is so well done that I think I am going to have to read it again and pray very hard that Liz will hear me (or at least read this post so she knows I really, really want another book...)
I loved it. Hands down. Freaking amazing-am so glad I got to review this one! One of my favorite books from 2012.
Private Pirouette Virtual Tour and Review
Private Pirouette
by Lila Munro
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

Piper McGee can smell a set up a mile away. She can smell a Marine even further. Born to a dual-enlisted couple who divorced before she was old enough to remember a single family holiday together and proceeded to redefine the very definition of family through several marriages and even more step-siblings, Piper has made it her life’s promise to herself to never become involved with one of the few and the proud. They’re among the most irresponsible people she knows, leaving destruction in their wake and broken hearts paving the way to their next duty station. And in her opinion, Alec Douglas is just another example, until he pries her heart open along with other parts of her, making her question everything she's ever let herself believe about honor, courage, and commitment.

What does a man do with six month’s down time and no warm body to share his bed? For Sergeant Alec Douglas, contemplating that question led him to fall prey to his two best friend’s plan to find him that very thing. They know Alec has yet to stay with any one person for more than a few dates. They also know a tragedy from his past created the problem and while that haunts him, making it nearly impossible for Alec to trust his heart to anyone, they also know he’s a sucker for a challenge. Will the enticement of a few thousand dollars riding on him breaking his own rule be just the thing to disrupt his cycle? Taking their bet might be profitable, but is winning the money they’ve dangled under Alec’s nose worth losing himself to the girl they’ve picked out for him?

In his quest to get her to say yes to his crazy proposal, he tracks her all over town only to discover the beautiful, long-legged blond isn’t the studious book worm he mistook her for. In fact, she's one of Jacksonville’s finest in the form of Orchid, exotic dancer. Her rejection only spurs him to make sure her dancing days are over and she only performs her private pirouette for him, and only him, for the rest of their lives if he has his way.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Come on, long legs,” he urged again. “We’ve got to go.”
She rubbed her eyes and opened them.  The first streaks of sunlight were pushing the envelope of the horizon, the pitch black of dark being replaced by the first lavender signs of day. Then she heard something besides Alec’s voice.  It sounded muted at first before becoming much clearer.  Cadence calls? On a Saturday morning?
“Is that what I think it is?” she begged, pushing up on her elbows.  She discovered Alec was already standing, trying to get his pants on.
“Yes, it is. Marines. An entire company from the sounds of it.” He finally got his pants up and left them hanging open in lieu of dragging his shirt over his head. “Seems we weren’t alone last night. The MEU is offshore and now the ones that stayed ashore last night are awake.”
“Shit, if they see us, you’ll be in trouble.” Piper jumped up and began looking for her clothes, the whole while the baritone rumble getting closer and closer.
“Forget the clothes, long legs. Wrap up in the blanket.”
She looked down the beach and could now see the source of their wake up call coming. Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, she grabbed the blanket and wrapped it tightly around her body, watching as Alec grabbed her clothes, his boots, and what was left of the six pack. Before they completely got over the dunes, though, they were spotted in their getaway attempt.  A cacophony of cat calls, whistles, and barking followed them the rest of the way to the car.
The Review:
For a girl who would give anything to get away from a strip club, another drooling Marine is the last thing she wants to deal with.
Piper is ambitious and she has a one track mind: get her school paid for and get the hell out of dodge. The fact that she has to work as a stripper by night and go to school by day and somehow afford rent weighs heavy on her mind and she has little patience for Alec when he begins to sniff around. Only when his interesting proposal is revealed and the possibility of some extra cash to help her move on with her plans a little faster is thrust in front of her does she consider him. The rest is all fireworks.
This book was a page turner. Piper has her mind set on what she wants and nothing is going to stand in her way. Alec thinks she is cold, but she isn't. Just scarred of repeating the mistakes of her parents. The banter back and forth between the characters will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire ride.
The sex scenes are hot and the tension between the two characters radiates off the page. At first, I really didn't care for Melody-she seemed cold. But as I read on, I found myself understanding her feelings of frustration and anger toward her parents and how that related to her treatment of Alec. Growing up on a military base, I know how she feels about fly by night relationships. Once the story got going and you see the dynamic between the two characters unfold, things really move into something more than just lust.
One of the other things about this book that I liked was the idea of stripper by night and bookworm by day. How delicious!!!
 If you love a hot story with Marines, give this book a shot.
4/5
With this man, resistance isn’t allowed. For this woman, he’ll create a world of sensual delight and yearning like none she’s ever known.
Reader Advisory: Magique’s sensual journey includes some brief ménage and BDSM elements.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Chapter One Excerpt

On the other end of the room was a wet bar. And Magique.

Hunt stepped closer, unable to help himself.

Her back was to them. She made no move to turn around despite David’s nervous throat clearing.

Her hair was glossy and black with blue highlights, worn so long the ends dangled over her ass. From his vantage point, Hunt could see her right leg. She wore strappy gold heels, three inches high. He estimated her to be about five-seven or eight without them. Her dress, a simple sheath, was of an amazing gold material, slightly shiny and so snug she might as well have sprayed the damn thing on.

It wasn’t gauzy lingerie, but it did reveal her every curve.

Adrenaline pumped through Hunt, making it difficult for him to stand still. His mouth went dry.

Her figure leaned more toward a Victoria’s Secret model than the waiflike look of high couture. The dress’s left strap had fallen down, making her seem more accessible, oddly vulnerable. Light glanced off her bare shoulder and arm as she moved, lifting a glass, tipping a bottle. Her skin was an ivory shade, looking delicate and seductive as hell.

He pulled at his tie’s knot, needing to loosen it so he could breathe more easily. The air, so fresh a moment before, seemed suffocating now. His fingers ached. He’d been making fists. To control himself? Damn right.

He longed to cross the room and turn her around so she’d notice him, her expression saying she not only approved, she wanted him more than the others, her actions affirming her reckless desire.

Redemption of the Hypnotist: The Virtual Tour

REDEMPTION OF THE HYPNOTIST
By
Hypnotic Dreams

BLURB:

A demonstration of erotic hypnosis leads to two relationships, one inspiring and creative, the other abusive and destructive.
Darren Braid was a respected psychology professor until a student accused him of trying to hypnotize her into sexual slavery. The accusation was recanted, but the university dismissed him anyway. Feeling betrayed, Darren retreated into seclusion. But the FBI believes that his exceptional skill with hypnosis and his tainted personal history make him the perfect undercover agent to infiltrate a sex slavery ring.
Latoya Douglas works for the studio that’s fronting the slavery ring. She is a beautiful black woman and one of L.A.’s hottest rap producers. Latoya will do almost anything to support her artists. She decides to 'manage' Darren, and remake him into an evil mind-controlling genius. She becomes his lover and muse. She inspires and helps Darren produce a hypnosis program to make women eager for sex with her rappers, and she helps find women to test the program. After three years of solitude, Darren finds the relationship more inspiring and rewarding than anything he imagined. But he doesn’t know if he can trust her. Is she part of the slavery ring, or trying to find her missing sister?

Marisa Martinez is a hotheaded young FBI agent. She asks Darren to hypnotize her to act submissive and obedient so she can get close to the slavers. But the hypnotic programming works too well. Marisa is in danger of losing herself to the submissive role and becoming a mindless sex toy. Can Darren restore her mind before she’s actually sold into sexual slavery?

Latoya filled both glasses and handed one to Darren, letting her fingers linger over his. "Music? Would you like R&B or Jazz?"

"No rock 'n roll?" he teased.

"Nope, sorry," she laughed as she swayed over to her stereo.

Darren snapped his fingers, "Damn, nothing more romantic than Foreigner 4."

Latoya gave him a puzzled look and asked, "Urgent or Woman in Black?"

"Woman in Black, of course. But I'm surprised you know the album."

She started the music, a smooth jazz saxophone, and sauntered back towards him. "There are a lot of things you don't know about me." She stroked his face provocatively, rolled her body around, pressing her back against his chest and said, "I'm a very deep woman."

"And you'll go deeper," he chuckled.

Latoya paused briefly, her mind starting to slide into trance at the reference. But she recognized the sensation and shook it off.
She playfully slapped his cheek, "Naughty boy!" She pushed away, her butt pressing firmly against his loins. "Save that for later," strutting back to the kitchen area.

Darren followed her, enjoying the sight of her sensually swaying hips. She posed for him at the refrigerator; her stance highlighting her lovely figure. She opened the door and when she leaned in, she bent slowly at the hips, maintaining the sexy image. She straightened up holding a bag of baby carrots and a bunch of asparagus. "Just going to stand there gawking?" she playfully chided. "Or are you going to help a lady with the cooking?"

Darren backed up a little, unable to remember the last time he tried to prepare anything more fancy than a broiled steak. "I, ah, can't cook."

"You're kidding?"

Darren shrugged, "I live alone. I buy prepared meals or take-out."

"Every night? That's awful." She dumped the vegetables on the counter and pulled a large chopping knife from a drawer. "That's no way for anyone to live. Okay, wash your hands. Tonight you learn to cook."

Darren hesitated. She brandished the carving knife in his direction. "Tonight, lover," she said with a gleam in her eye," you learn to cook."

Darren set down the wine and threw up his hands. "Okay you got me. I never argue with a woman holding a sharp knife." Latoya set the knife down and laughed as he went to the sink.

What would you do if you could make anyone you wanted a hypnotized fuck bunny sex slave? Would you use your power for good or evil?

It is an interesting premise. Hypnotizing women to do anything you wanted. Kind of kinky, really. Darren has been fired from his job as a professor for allegedly doing just that. Can he use his power for good and help in a missing person's case?

The tone of this book was straightforward but with a very definite male POV. Women were treated like mindless dolls and sometimes that left me cold. The behind the scenes angle with the investigation was strong, however and helped to make up for my first initial impressions. The journey into the music industry and the slave ring was creative and it was interesting to see how the hypnosis worked on different people.

I have always wondered how a person could actually be taken somewhere in their mind and this book really illustrates the care that is taken by the hypnotherapist to accomplish whatever the goal is set. Very interesting. I am voting for the diet hypnosis and exercise motivation myself!

If you like stories that stretch your boundaries and are a fan of mind games, then this story might interest you.
