New Release: Blood of Angels by Amber Morgan @AmberMothling

Hello! Thank you for having me today and letting me share a teaser from my new release, BLOOD OF ANGELS. I loved writing about my Southern belle, Thea, and her fallen angel, Turiel. There's something so appealing about writing an angel as a romantic hero. I'm not sure what it is – maybe a sense of the taboo? Angels are supposed to be pure, spiritual beings, after all, not the kind to get down and dirty with us mere mortals. Is that why we love reading and writing about angels discovering love and sex? Or is there just something irresistible about a man with wings?

Well, sadly, Turiel has lost his wings, but I think if you asked him, he'd say it was worth it for what he finds with Thea... ;) I hope you love reading their story as much as I loved writing it!

Thea Clayton knows her life isn’t normal. But even she wasn’t prepared for an angel to fall through her roof.

Turiel gave up his place in Heaven to experience true sensations for the first time in his immortal life. He didn’t realize that meant pain as well as pleasure.

Thea isn’t the only person who knows Turiel has fallen. The blood of angels is a precious thing. And some people will do anything to steal it.

Buy it now!

Excerpt

Turiel reached down between his legs, stroking himself with slow, leisurely movements. His eyes fell shut, his shoulders relaxing, and she was reminded of nothing so much as a cat basking in the sun, warm and lazy. She watched his hand move, watched his shaft stiffen, and wondered if it was an invitation to her. Last night he'd seemed so broken, so lost, too much so for her to contemplate sex. A few hours' sleep shouldn't make that much difference. He still was what he was. A miracle, a masterpiece, a fallen angel...But he was somehow also a man.
She felt like driftwood on the seas, battered around by her conflicting emotions. He opened his eyes again, watching her watch him. A slow, shy smile spread across his face. "I trouble you."
It took her two attempts to answer, and when she did, her voice was throaty and trembling. "In a way."
"I don't want to upset you, Thea."
"I'm not upset." She was spellbound. He was no Louis Lee, that was for sure. She wanted to wrap her hands around his thick cock, wrap her lips around it, taste that silken, golden skin. She wanted it with a fierceness that was too much to handle and yes, it troubled her.
"I can leave," he said.
"You still don't have any clothes," she said.
"Does that trouble you? You seem preoccupied by it."
He was teasing her. There was a studied insouciance in his voice and she found herself smiling. "I am hopelessly preoccupied by your lack of clothes, absolutely."
He bit his lip and reached out for her. He took her hand in his and guided it to his waiting shaft. Thea gasped, breathless, as her fingers closed around him. Velvet and warm, he was, like a well-aged whiskey made flesh, and she closed her eyes as she stroked him, enthralled. She felt reckless, careening towards a cliff-edge with every touch. This was the madness that would take her, she
decided. Not alcohol or paranoia, but the searing touch of angel's flesh.
He closed his eyes, expression rapturous. "You will make me mad," he murmured.

She said nothing, growing bolder and firmer in her strokes, revelling in the knowledge that she was pleasing him. This work of art, this divine creature, who surely could have fallen anywhere in the world and had men and women flock to him, he was here with her, and it was her hand, her touch putting that shine in his face, stirring his body. It was a powerful knowledge and it lead down a dangerous path. What else could she do? What else did she dare do?
It might have been enough to stay like that forever, him kneeling in a tangle of bed sheets, Thea laying alongside him, her hand caressing his cock with an ever-increasing possessiveness. Turiel sighed and whispered in that fluid, alien language, and she had a sense of time crystallizing around them like sap into amber. They would stay perfect and preserved like this forever, and that might be enough...but he made her hungry and he wanted to feel, to touch, and there was so much more she could show him...

Excerpt

I turn the knob and step inside. Relaxed on the love seat by the bay window, she lifts her eyes to mine. Her legs are curled up under her, hair still up, book in hand and she’s now wearing a pair of sexy black-framed librarian glasses. I feel a stirring in my pants and the shock of it must register on my face because her forehead wrinkles as she asks, “Are you okay?” I’d love to tell her I’m great, but I don’t think she’d be quite as impressed by the beginnings of a hard-on as I am. This is the first time I’ve had any kind of action down there since the accident. The doctor told me not to worry about it, the function would eventually return, it’s mental more than physical, but I was afraid it never would. For a guy my age, no blood flow to the dick is a terrifying thought. I cross my hands down low, trying to discreetly cover up. She’d never understand. Who gets a boner the same day he buries someone close to him? “Yeah, I’m okay. I just wanted to come and say goodbye.” She lifts the glasses from her face and sets them on top of the book she’s placed on the table next to where she’s seated. When she stands and takes a few steps toward me I realize my heart is pounding harder than it was when I knocked on the door, like I’ve run a few miles. It’s been far too long since I’ve had this kind of reaction to a woman. “How long are you staying?” I inquire. “A couple of weeks. I promised the Colonel I’d help Ms. Polly take care of everything. We have to go through some things out in the shed this week too. Are you leaving to go back East right away?” “No. I’m moving back here. I’m staying at one of those extended stay hotels by the interstate until I can find something. If you need help going through any of his stuff or lifting some of those things, let me know. I don’t have a lot on my schedule yet.” Her head tilts and her eyes narrow like she’s trying to figure out if my offer is genuine. I lift up my hands in a gesture of surrender as I say, “I’m not saying you can’t do it, just that I’m available if you want help. I’ll write my cell number down and you can use it, or not.” She watches me intently as I jot down my number and leave it on the table. Then I walk back over, place my hands on her shoulders, kiss her forehead, lingering a little longer than I should so I can absorb the scent of her again, and limp out the door. I don’t wait to see if she has anything to say or any reaction to the chaste kiss. My heart and body both ache and I wish I were a different man. A better man. One that could have a woman as beautiful and amazing as she is and be worthy of her.

Perfect Storm by USA Today Bestselling Author Cheryl Douglas

Blurb

Mace Dark. Dangerous. Messed up. Yeah, I may be all of those things, but with her I’m not. She taught me how to love, how to be a one woman man. Except now my woman wants to leave me, ‘cause I can’t promise her forever. I know I’d never want anyone else but she wants the ring to prove it. Not to mention the baby. But if she knew about my past she’d run far and fast. Then I’d have no choice but to chase her, ‘cause I can’t let her get away. Cory I hate him. I love him. I want him. I need him. I hate myself for being weak and caving every every time he touches me. But I can’t help myself. He’s just that good. I can’t get over him if I’m always under him, but he’s not letting me go without a fight and you’d have to have an iron will to resist this man.

Excerpt

Mace She was killing me and she knew it. My ex-girlfriend and business partner made it her daily mission to torture me. She flirted with the customers, agreed to dates with a few regulars, I’d even caught her kissing one in the dark hallway leading to our office. My reaction? I put my fist through the wall, scaring the shit out of her boy-toy and earning a stern lecture from her. Cory claimed I had no right to tell her what to do or who to do it with. She’d given me an ultimatum. Marriage. Babies. Or she was done with me. When push came to shove I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t put that ring on her finger. I watched what my old man went through when my mom left us. I couldn’t let Cory put me through that shit. So I let her go. Only we had to work together. Every. Goddamn. Day. And I was slowly losing my mind. “Cory get a new tat, boss?” our bartender asked, looking at the perfect swell of my lady’s ass as she bent over to take a customer’s order. Not your lady anymore, a little voice reminded me. Bullshit. She’ll always be mine. “Yeah, I think so.” I wiped down the bar, trying not to notice the way she filled out those tight black jeans. Memories came flooding back. My lips on her. Hers on me. Her riding me. Taking her up against the wall. Going hard all night… into the morning. “Gimme a Jack, man.” I’d been drinking too much since she dumped me, but I couldn’t seem to help myself. My mom left my old man because of the bottle. Now it seemed like I was destined to follow in his footsteps. Johnnie raised an eyebrow, but didn’t question me. He just did as he was told, poured, and sild it across the slick surface. “Why don’t you just buy her out?” he asked, obviously reading my thoughts. I tipped my glass back, my back to her. “She won’t let me.” I’d offered half a dozen times. Just like she’d offered to buy me out. But we both loved this bar. And we were stubborn. We wanted to make the other one suffer. “You two are gonna wind up killing each other.” He gestured to the glass in my hand. “I’ve been working here five years and ain’t never seen you drink like this.” Johnnie was my right hand man and I loved him like a brother, but I didn’t need to hear him telling me shit I already knew. I was self-destructing and I didn’t know how the hell to put the brakes on. “Shit,” Johnnie whispered, his dark eyes travelling to the door. I curled my hand into a fist when I spotted the punk who’d had his tongue down my woman’s throat last week. The reason I’d had to patch the drywall to repair the damage I’d caused. “What’s he doing here?” I asked, standing. “I told him not to show his face in here again.” Before I could kick his scrawny ass out Cory approached him, slaying me with her dimples, just like she did every time I saw her smile. She was a tiny little thing with a huge rack. That was the first thing most guys noticed about her, but four years of being mine meant it had been a long time since another man had been stupid enough to put his hands on her. Seeing that same dumbass who hadn’t heeded my last warning wrap his arms around her had me seeing red. “That’s it. I’m gonna mess him up.” “Mace, don’t man,” Johnnie said, trying to grab my shoulder. “It’s not worth it.” I shook him off and stalked across the bar, going toe-to-toe with my least favorite customer. “What’re doin’ back here, asshole? Didn’t I make it clear I don’t wanna see your face in my bar again?” “Excuse me,” Cory said, grabbing my arm. “It’s my bar too. And I told him he could come in anytime he wanted.” I knew I’d regret the day I let her invest in my dream. She’d been a real estate agent at the time and she was making big bucks. I was a bartender who used to serve her at a club she and her girlfriends frequented. She convinced me I was wasting my time working behind someone else’s bar when I should be lining my own pockets. She was the first person to ever believe in me and since my old man had left me a little coin when he died, I had some cash to burn. The rest, as they say, is history. “Why are you doing this?” I narrowed my eyes at her. “You wanna watch me bleed?” I said, only loud enough for her to hear. I turned my forearm over to reveal the colorful tattoo snaking over my wrist and up my arm. The one bearing her name. “You want to destroy me? ‘Cause you’re doin’ a hell of a job of it.” “Excuse me, Eddy,” she said to the guitar playing asshat watching our exchange. “I need to have a word with my partner.” She grabbed my hand and hauled me through the crowd and down the narrow hallway to our shared office and just that brief physical exchange tore me up. I wanted her hands on me again. Up my shirt. Unbuckling my pants. Wrapped around my shaft. “Why do you keep doing this?” she asked, slamming the door and throwing her hands up in the air. “It’s like you’re trying to prevent me from getting on with my life.” I sat on the edge of the desk sulking. Because I knew she was right. I couldn’t give her what she needed but I was trying to prevent her from finding a man who could. It was messed up. I knew that. I just couldn’t help it. I loved her. I loved her so goddamn much that living without her was destroying me. “I just don’t want to see you with a jackass like that.” I curled my hands around the edge of the desk as I watched her. Her long, blond, wavy hair was sweeping down her back as her high heels clicked across the worn wood floor as she paced the small, cluttered room. “He probably wouldn’t even know how to please you.” And if that visual didn’t make my blood boil. The thought of another man pleasing her hit me like a wrecking ball, knocking the wind out of me. My girl loved oral. And before too long it was going to be some other’s dude’s shoulders spreading her legs, taking what was mine. “How do you know that?” she demanded, planting her hands on her curvy hips. “You don’t know what he’s like in bed. Unless you and he have-” “Don’t even.” She liked messing with me and after so many years together she knew exactly how to rattle my chain. Her full lips turned up in a half-smile. “You don’t get to tell me who to sleep with, Mace. Just like I don’t get to tell you.” What a joke that was. I didn’t even think I could get it up for another woman. Her ass wouldn’t be as round as Cory’s. Her tits wouldn’t be as big. Her lips wouldn’t be as lush. Her eyes wouldn’t be as blue. I’d find something wrong with her. ‘Cause she wasn’t Cory. It was as simple and as screwed up as that. “I don’t see why you’d want anyone else.” I rubbed the bulge in my pants, the one I got every time I looked at her. “You’ve had me. You know what it feels like to have the best.” Was I arrogant? Yeah, sure. But I knew she hadn’t even gotten off with a man in the room until she met me. I made it a point to give her so many orgasms in a night she was literally pleading with me to stop ‘cause she couldn’t take anymore. “Is that all you ever think about?” she asked, rolling her baby blues at me. “Sex?” “With you?” I grinned. “Pretty much.” But that was a lie. I missed everything about her, from the way she smelled to the way she felt curled against my chest when she fell asleep. I even missed those gay-ass antique marts she used to drag me to and the girly movies she’d force me to watch. I missed the massages she’d give me after a hard workout or the way she’d model new lingerie for me. I missed it all. “I need you to just back off,” she said, gently. “Please, Mace. I want us to keep working together. I think we’re a really good team. But I need some space.” I didn’t want to give her space. I wanted to crowd her against the wall and kiss her until she remembered how much she loved me. How much she needed me. “You can’t date customers,” I said, biting the inside of my lip. “It’s not fair, Cor. I can’t deal with that shit.” She threw her hands up in the air. “Where do you expect me to meet guys? I’m here all the time or at the gym.” She glared at me. “And you’ve scared off all the guys there too. You know my personal trainer told me last week that he wanted to ask me out but he was afraid you’d kick the shit out of him.” I got into mixed martial arts when I was twelve. I would kick the shit out of him. “That’s not my problem,” I said, shrugging. “Guess you’ll have to find somewhere else to pick up.” “Don’t you want me to be happy?” Her tone was soft, almost pleading. “I want you to be happy. Why can’t you want the same for me?” “Sorry if my idea of a good time isn’t watching some asshole stick his tongue down your throat.” “He could be a great guy,” she said, stepping into my personal space. “The best thing that ever happened to me. He could be madly in love with me, treat me like a queen, want to marry me and have half a dozen babies with me and you still couldn’t be happy for me, could you?” I knew those were all the things she wanted and deserved, but she was right. I couldn’t be happy for her if she found them and that made me a grade-A asshole, because even though I claimed to love her I was too selfish to put her first. No one had ever taught me to love selflessly. My old man was a selfish drunk who made it impossible for my mom to stick it out. She didn’t love me enough to take me and my brother with her. Women had only ever used me for the pleasure I could give them. Cory was the only one who’d ever given a shit about me. And I didn’t want to lose that. I couldn’t lost that. Not to some other guy. “No, I couldn’t.” She shook her head, looking sad. “You used to be my best friend. The one person I could count on. I miss that guy so much.” I missed him too. I hated the bitter, resentful asshole I was becoming, but I didn’t know what to do about it.

Excerpt 1:
Bryce watched the blonde woman sitting alone at the table on the outskirts of the bar. Nursing his drink, he sloshed the remaining amber liquid in the glass and pondered going over and talking to her. Pretty and petite, he had a feeling she would be interesting to talk to. At one point, she’d met his gaze and something tripped inside him, making the bold comment he’d planned sink into wordless nothing.
His wolf howled, pacing beneath his skin, definitely interested, the call to mate nearly boiling under his skin. Was she any different than the others? Barflies, he was learning, were not helping in his search.
There was no mystery as to what that meant in the shifter world. His animal had found a woman he wanted as a mate. But that didn’t mean his human side necessarily agreed. He should be gearing up to go to his pack’s gathering, but none of the females had caught his interest. And if not now, he couldn’t imagine that would change in the two months when he was expected to go. All unmated wolves were required to attend.
Fuck that.
His mate was right here, staring him in the face. But she wasn’t a shifter, and he had to take care. It would have been so much more simple if she had been. Chemistry would have taken over, and that would have been that.
If he were smart he would walk away and just plan on going to the gathering. But there was something about her, drawing him closer like a fly to honey. He’d walked by the table earlier, and her scent had snared him, his cock hardening.
Huh. Fly. The irony of the thought made him cringe.
Bryce had seen her here once or twice before, but she’d been with two guys. The one from before and another guy. They’d always laughed and had a good time. But today she’d been down, barely meeting the other guy’s conversation from the looks of it.
Interesting.
His wolf rumbled in his chest, unhappy with his choice to remain an observer. But something told him all wasn’t as it seemed. As soon as the thought came, it went as he watched the woman his wolf wanted as a mate.
He’d brought other women home, but it was always her in the back of his mind. No matter the curves. But damned if she wasn’t always dating some other guy. The man she was with before had gotten up and left, but she’d stayed. Was she meeting someone here?
She’d danced with one of the guys from the bar, but one song later and she was back at her table, a new drink in hand.
It was now or never. Before some other asshole decided to get in his way.
And he was tired of keeping his distance.
Fuck it.
He stood, his pulse thrumming under his skin and made his way over to her table. Her blonde hair cascaded down around her heart-shaped face, her eyes twinkling with merriment as she took him in.
“Is this seat taken?”
She glanced up at him, a smile playing at the corner of her lips. “Not anymore.”

Excerpt 2:
The little dog rested against Mallory’s chest. Exhausted from the events of the day, she carted her purse, the bottle of pills, bowls, a bag of kibble, her new prescription cards and the cans of wet food the vet seemed to think were must-haves all the way up the stairs to her second-floor apartment.
The vet had woken them both up after about an hour to check the pup’s progress and then carted him away for a quick bath. The dog returned to her promptly, tail wagging, and they took off, the scorch marks still steaming from her credit card.
Ouch.
She could do this. Be the person the little guy needed. He didn’t have anyone else.
Yeah. And that’s worked out so well for you in the past.
She willed her internal voice to shut the hell up. Pets were different than men. And dogs were different than a goldfish. They told you when they were hungry. Or at least she thought they did.
He’d slept peacefully on the seat next to her all the way home, and when she stopped, he barely perked up as she jostled him and the rest of her parcels to her front door. Finagling her keys, she kicked the door open with her foot and shut it unceremoniously with her mud-covered ass.
“There.” She tossed the bags onto the kitchen counter and carried the little guy back with her to the bathroom.
“Shower time, kiddo.”
This was going to be weird. Mallory nibbled on her lip and pondered what to do with him while she was in the shower. Terrence wasn’t a problem. She knew what to expect from him, but this little, unnamed pup was something else entirely. The vet had also told her to make sure there was nothing that he could run into and hurt himself. After her shower, that was right up there on the list.
She lowered the little dog down on the floor, towel and all, just inside the bathroom and hustled to the bedroom closet to divest herself of her clothes. She felt disgusting. Covered in mud and hair and God only knew what else, it was time to get clean.
A yip sounded down the hall, and she hurriedly stripped. Dropping her clothes in the hamper, Mallory streaked back down the hall to the bathroom. The little dog had gotten up and started exploring, bumping into everything in sight.
And why did she get the distinct scent of brimstone?
Huh.
Go figure.
“Hey there, buddy. How you doing?” The little dog whined and made his way tentatively toward her. She scooped him up and gave him a kiss on the forehead. “Well, hi there.” He gave her a look and nuzzled his head against her cheek, his little tail wagging.
“What do you think I should I name you?” She really had no idea. The dog nosed her again and gave a snort. “What do you think of Doodle?”
The dog made a little whining sound, and his eyes took on a distinct shade of red.
“Well, I don’t hear you making any suggestions.”
That explained a few things. Puppy in the street when Luc had told her to get her hair done. Only an idiot wouldn’t put two and two together. Her bestie had sent her a hellhound.
Mallory grinned. She should have known he wouldn’t forget to make sure she was protected.
Mallory reached over and shut the bathroom door. “You stay in here while I get cleaned up. Then we’ll feed you and talk about the rest, OK?”
The little dog cocked his head and wrinkled his forehead as if he were trying to figure out what she was saying.
“Here.” Mallory reached inside the bathroom closet and plucked out a large towel. She reached under the vanity and laid out the towel, bunching it up to be sort of like a dog bed.
Then it hit her. She hadn’t gotten him a bed.
“We’ll get you fixed up, sweetie. Don’t you worry about a thing.” But she knew getting a dog bed was probably going to be a futile endeavor. Terrence had slept with her every night, and part of her hoped the little guy would be similarly inclined. She’d never slept so well in her life as when she’d had his tiny warmth snuggled up next to her. Inviting the devil into your bed for night nights should have given her nightmares. As long as he was a cute little Chihuahua everything was fine. Luc was a gentleman.
Speaking of Luc. She went back to her purse and snagged her phone, shooting him a pic of the dog.
Your replacement. Traitor.
Let him sink his teeth into that for a bit. Mallory grinned and went back to her shower preparations.
“Why don’t you lay down here, honey?” She picked up the dog and deposited him in the towel bed. “Stay here.” She turned on the shower and jumped underneath the warm spray, letting the water take away the grime, grit, and mud from her day.
Mallory should have known it was too quiet. Strawberry shampoo and lavender soap reinvigorated her, and as she stepped out onto the mat, she felt her toes sink into something warm and squishy. Then the smell hit her.
“Ugh! Doodle!”
The dog raised its head from the towel and snuggled in deeper.
At least he was beginning to know his name.
“You…you…ugh!” Mallory put her foot back in the shower, wrenching on the water and removing the sprayer from the showerhead above it. Squirting the unholy mess off of her foot, she soaped it and sprayed it again. “That was nasty.”
Mallory emerged from the tub and cursed. She’d forgotten to grab a towel for herself from the bar across the room. Edging around the poop and dripping water everywhere, Mallory stepped onto the rug and carefully navigated her feet to avoid touching it again.
How could such a huge pile of crap come out of such a small dog? Mallory curled her lip in disgust, and she looked at the dog with horrified wonder.
She kicked the rug over and reached for a towel, trailing water across the floor.
“Great.”
Tucking the towel around her, she started to go for the soiled rug when the doorbell rang.

Chance Encounters, an all-new romantic comedy from Jessica Prince is available now!!

CHance-Encounters-for-web
There are three kinds of nerdy women in the world.
- The Sexy Nerd
- The Confident Nerd; and
- The So-Socially-Awkward-it’s-Painful-to-Watch Nerd.
You can probably guess which one I am. After witnessing me making a fool of myself, Chance Hoffman decided to take pity on me. He’s smart, sexy, charming, and totally out of my league… and for some unexplainable reason, he wants to help me. Who am I to say no? Besides, I need all the assistance I can get.
There are three things that make a woman irresistible.
- Confidence
- A Wicked Sense of Humor; and
- A Killer Rack.
Melany Fitzgerald had none of those things. Or so I thought… until I really got to know her. She’s the total package and she doesn’t even realize it. Now I’m stuck with the uncomfortable task of helping her land another guy, all the while trying to ignore the fact that I’m starting to fall for her.
She thinks she’s an ugly duckling and wants to become a swan. All I want is her. And I’m not giving up without a fight.

About the Author:

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That's why God created central air, after all. Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy--she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says. In addition to being a wife and mom, she's also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books--romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it's a passion...there's a difference. Not that she'd expect a boy to understand. Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
