Blog Tour and Giveaway: Unrestrained by Joey W. Hill

Blurb:

Release Date December 3, 2013

Note: This book was previously titled Letting Go; updated 6/2013.
Athena is a widow and an accomplished businesswoman. She's the type of person who exceeds expectations in business, family--life in general. Since the death of her husband, she's had a desire to explore submissive cravings she's had for some time. The hitch is, Athena is known as a Mistress, because that's the role she played to her husband.

Though she knew her submissive nature was strong enough to serve her husband as a Domme, because that's what he needed, it's when she meets Dale, a retired Navy SEAL, that she attempts to discover what her own submissive desires are. But letting go of that control is harder than she expected.
Fortunately, Dale is an accomplished Master who can help her accept the true nature of her submission, rather than how she's tailored it to meet the expectations of others. But in the course of learning what letting go means, both of them will learn a bit more about the nature of love between Dominant and submissive, and how it defies all categories.

  2. Good morning, Erzabet! It's wonderful to be here! I'll be cruising by throughout the day (except for a block of time when the husband is going to take me to see Frozen - looking forward to some Disney magic!), so if anyone has any questions or comments about anything, I'll be happy to answer. Otherwise, I hope you all enjoy Dale and Athena! Oh, and for a limited time, the FIRST THREE CHAPTERS are available as a PDF download on the book page of my website. Just go to http://www.storywitch.com/book-nst-lg and look to the right of the cover, under the RT Top Pick designation. Enjoy!

    1. Grin - yes and no. I've always had a lot of animals in my life, not just my own, so they're probably a lot like my human characters - a compilation of different traits from different "people". The shepherd mix that Dale adopts out is a prime example of that. I've fostered and placed dogs with that wonderful combination of smarts, playfulness and unbridled affection. As many blessings as I have in my life, I count my animal relationships in the top tier always.

Just a side note - I have a golden retriever, so I have loved "George" in the JR Ward series, and the first time I read him, I knew JR had to have a retriever of her own, because George is SUCH a Golden. They're amazing dogs - so expressive and loving, and they all seem to want to be lapdogs, even if they are 70-90 lbs!!

    1. Thanks, Christi - just finished getting most of the Christmas lights up, so will try to run through shower - else I'll have shrubbery debris raining off me on whoever's sitting next to us in the theater (lol). And I loved the fact Dale and Athena were pretty much in my age bracket. I have plenty of characters who are younger, and I don't mind writing them, but every once in awhile it's nice to deal with people in their mid-forties (or at 50, as Dale is) - they tend to be less contrary with the author (laughter). Though Dale could be stubborn on a couple points, and I wasn't going to argue with him too much (wink).

    1. I adore Disney movies as well, particularly Pixar films, and that peak period when they produced Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, etc.I wish I could say we enjoyed Frozen as much, but we thought Tangled was much better. Tangled had a small selection of musical numbers that fit the moment and plotline. Frozen threw music in everywhere, most of it not that great, and in some cases tried to make it into dialogue, like an opera. One exception was Let It Go, sung by Idina Menzel. Fabulous. And the graphics were exceptional, especially the ice sequences. I think if they'd left most of the music out of it and focused more on the story, it would have been awesome. And tried to make the reindeer more of a reindeer and less of a dog (not sure what was going on with that). Still worth seeing - just didn't think it lived up to all the hype.

    2. Well that's a little disappointing but I wasn't planning on seeing it in theaters anyways so maybe I'll watch it when it comes out on tv I really enjoyed Tangled and also the older movies by Disney, oh and I love the Minions but I haven't seen Despicable Me 2... just haven't been watching too many movies lately except when their on tv I really loved Up but it was so sad!

    3. Keep in mind I'm kind of a picky bitch when it comes to these things, so I may be wrong and you'll absolutely love it. We don't see many movies in the theaters anymore either - usually too many rude people flashing their screens with texting, talking, etc. but we felt in a movie-going mood. Of course we had to move at least once because the pathetic excuses for parents behind us were letting the kids kick the back of our seats over and over and over, but once we moved, all was good. :> I love the Minions!! And I'm with you on Up - one of my favorite Pixars, but I always cry during the first ten minutes.
