Thou shalt not covet thy host’s submissive
When a Domme loves a Domme, strange things can happen. When a Domme loves a Domme who is her former submissive and cheated with her best friend, all of the usual fun with handcuffs turns into something darker.
Graciela struggles to control her attraction to the headstrong, beautiful woman who broke her heart ten years ago. She offers temporary shelter to a fellow human in crisis, nothing more. But when Trinity buckles under Graciela’s righteous anger and begs for forgiveness, Graciela’s resolve wavers. Can she ever trust again? Does Trinity deserve a second chance, or is this yet another manipulation?
Review:
I first encountered Trinity in another book in this series. She had the role of a nurse in an age play scenario and I fell a little in love with the idea. Most age play stories leave me cold. I don't like the idea of regressing a person to a young state and sexualizing it. Especially men with women because of the abuse connotation. This series does it a little differently and that was appealing.
In Mistress, we have an act of betrayal where a sub in her care has fallen for Nurse Trinity and havoc has ensued. Gracelia, the Domme who trained Trinity is still smarting from an earlier betrayal by her and there are wounded women on every side.
How do you discipline someone who in her very essence should be the one to know better? That is a tough question to answer and as you read this book, you'll find each of these ladies has much to learn. When love happens, some rules fly out the window, even the ones you live by and that is a lesson both women in this story find out the hard way.
Past and present interchange in this book and you get a glimpse of what it was like for the couple at the beginning and now in the present.
Then there is the question of the abuse Trinity suffered at the hands of her father. Physical, mental and sexual. Abuse from a family member causes many problems in life and unfortunately I can speak from experience. It makes you question yourself, your boundaries, your reality and worst of all who to trust. Trinity has to relearn some of these things and at great cost to her and those around her. Graciela had been her instructor but her own weakness got in the way and everything fell apart.
One thing about Ana's books I have come to appreciate is her use of spanking to make the reader beg for more. No sex scenes per sea, but she takes you there with each little smack on the backside and nicely placed hairbrush.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and the passage at the end sealed for me to the point where a few tears were shed. That is the core of BDSM relationships, or any true relationship where there is love involved. Forgiveness. And when someone important in your life lets you down, that is the person who will be there at the end of the day, arms out and heart open.
