Flower shop owner Alexa Conroy had it all before the recession hit and her customers fled to cheaper shopping grounds. Desperate to make ends meet, she sells her dream home and moves into the rundown apartments above her shop. When she spots six feet of sexy distraction—complete with muscles, piercings, and tattoos—ripping up flooring, Alexa knows the karmic windfall she’s due just landed on her doorstep.
And the attraction’s definitely not one-sided.
Dillon James, reluctant heir to the corporation about to foreclose on Alexa’s shop, is not about to jeopardize their scorching chemistry by admitting he’s not the building’s handyman. But with only weeks until her business goes under and his identity is revealed, Dillon must find a way to convince Alexa cooperation isn’t a dirty word, help her save the shop from his brother’s greed, and persuade her that he’s not the enemy…or risk losing the only woman who’s seen the real him.

What if you all of a sudden inherited a business and instead of being a gift, it ended up being a curse?
In these challenging financial times, Alexa has just found out that being a business owner can really make life a challenge, especially when you have discount stores that take a huge chunk out of your business. Selling her house and cutting her lifestyle to the bitter edge, Alexa moves into an apartment and struggles to adjust to the not so party girl life she was used to. It isn't easy.
Enter in Dillon, the sexy "maintenance man" who fixes her sink and a hella of a lot more than just her bathroom plumbing. Things get complicated when you don't know who you're sleeping with, especially when you might just be bedding down with the enemy.
I enjoyed this book. It was a smooth ride, and I felt for Alexa. Changing your whole life for the sake of a business is hard work, especially when it feels like a sinking ship the size of the Titanic. The unwinding of her relationship with Dillon was hot and I couldn't wait to lose myself within the pages of the story. Cari Quinn does a great job of making a sex scene pop and I wanted nothing more than to fall into this book and not come out for a couple of days.
The characters in this story really made it work for me. These are people who have real life frustrations and urges that may get them into trouble once they are played out. The tension between the characters was spot on and I really loved the mystery angle- Alexa did not know who Dillon was. That really spiked the suspense, along with the hot stairwell sex. Loved it!!!
