Melody Manning’s workaholic ambition, coupled with a
slave-driving former boss, has made her the youngest market analyst in her
firm. It’s also killed her personal life, including losing her fiancé. When she
receives a message from him on New Year’s Eve announcing his engagement to
another woman, Mel loses it. Her new, more compassionate boss has the perfect
solution for her—get laid. Good and laid.
At his suggestion, she signs up with the 1Night Stand
service, listing her deepest sexual desires on the application. A speedy
response from Madame Eve has Melody on her way to Sonoma Valley wine country
and a one-night stand with a mysterious Dom.
The sexy, masked Master promises to get to the bottom of her
guilt and provide ultimate satisfaction under the safety of his stern hand.
After an emotional night of submission and uninhibited passion, will her
lover’s unmasking lead to the end of their encounter or give Mel another chance
at love?
Lots of us are workaholics. Raise your hand. Yup. I knew it. My hand is in the air too. If I am not at my day job slaving away, I am here on the computer either blogging, doing a music review or writing something deliciously smutty. It is my calling. I love it. In between I read books. That is my candy. My vacation of the mind. It is nice when I can find that mini vacation in a book I enjoy. Night With A Dom was both. Mind candy and a short trip to "wow, how freaking fun is that..." When I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, I was thrilled. The cover art alone was very seductive and being the cover slut that I am, was hooked by that alone. It is simple, yet alluring.
First off, I love the premise of the One Night Stand Series. It all centers around a mysterious woman who acts kind of like a match maker. It is all very scintillating really. In this book, Melody has been a work a holic to the point where she let work overtake her and she lost the main relationship in her life. Was it on purpose? When her boss leaves for good and she finds out that her once boyfriend is about to tie the knot, she decides to throw caution to the wind and go on a one night stand date. She needs to have a roll in the sheets bad.
What a great concept! When Melody meets her date for the evening, sparks fly and she could swear those eyes behind the mask are awfully familiar. (This is one of those moments when I would love to share what happens, but that would ruin the surprise.) She begins an adventure that will rock her to the tips of her designer shoes.
There are lots of reasons to love this short lunch time novel. BDSM elements, spanking, a Dom you would do anything if he would just look at you like that and the utterly sweet bliss of submission to desires of the heart and mind.
Give this one a shot. I know you will love it as much as I did. Two thumbs up for a short read that is full of passion and delicious sex scenes.
