Fractured Fantasies Vol II by Torie James

Fractured Fantasies Collection (Volume Two)
In the burning lands of rapturous fulfillment and unrequited desire, one false step can lead down the path towards delicious destruction. Impassioned appeals, sinful seductions and fevered longings can often hide degrees of twisted tenderness but don't be fooled. Not all prisons have bars, silence can be deadly and even the sweetest face conceals monstrous insanity. Tread lightly, choose well or find sexual satisfaction at the dead end of one-way street.

Book One – The Factory
A glittering citadel born from blood money and power tripping provides the perfect stage for its mysterious owner and his young, dazzling wife. Before the final act is called and the curtain falls, they'll both be tested to the limits of their personal, moral compasses. And neither of theirs point true north.

Book Two – Nevermore
Newlyweds on a romantic, Spanish honeymoon find themselves battling against stereotypes after a short engagement leads to a much longer commitment. In the shadows of infatuation, however, lay the groundwork for a cruel coupling that even death cannot part.

Book Three – The Nomad
In a post-apocalyptic, dystopian future, one young warrior woman travels the world in search of help against The Great Evil. When her travels take her far underground to the lair of the last great Champion, she finds duty mixing with desire and a tender temptation that threatens her mission.

I'd sat down with intentions to write only ONE volume for what became this series but my Dark Muse thought otherwise.
I'm entirely comfy writing paranormal romance, along with sub-genres like fantasy, sci-fi, etc. Erotica, however, was a field I never dreamt of taking but all it took was one person to double dog dare me and here we are.
I'm a huge fan of older shows such as The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Outer Limits, Tales from the Darkside and Tales from the Crypt. I wanted to write dark erotica with those shows in mind, those tales of erasing the lines between good and bad, blurring the limits of decadence and darkness and as always, learning valuable lessons only when its too late.
I'd like to think I've conquered that challenge with these lush, dangerous and sexy offerings.
Past the shadows of lust and temptation there is a secret dimension of dark, forbidden desires. Abandon rational thought and step into a world of shattering rapture, furious ecstasy and burning secrets. Worship the flesh and submit to carnal seduction but remember passion comes at a high price. What are you willing to pay?

Author Bio:
Born on the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous, Torie is the illegitimate love child of Han Solo and Daenerys Targaryen. Rescued by Gandalf shortly before her home planet was destroyed in the last days of the Clone Wars, she was raised in relative obscurity by her foster parents, Severus Snape and Pippi Longstocking. At the tender age of 113, she inherited the best little whorehouse in Texas and is rumored to be bringing Sexy Back. A self- confessed chocoholic, she's been engaged to Willy Wonka despite gossip surrounding a lifelong affair with Bruce Wayne.
And clearly, she practices delusion on a daily basis.
The truth is, I'm just an overgrown kid with a vivid imagination who loves to write and share my crazy with the world. My future plans include, hopefully, buying a lovely Scottish castle and convincing Queen Elizabeth I that I'd make a fab addition to the Royal Family.
Three years ago, I finally got my 'brave' on and submitted a wee story about true love, honor, friendship and the magic within us all. That story was Timeless Night, the first book in a five book series I've named New Camelot. Since then, I've been lucky enough to have published Timeless Desire (Book 2 of New Camelot), Beauty and The Feast (A New Camelot Thanksgiving Novella) Ties That Bind (The Cloie Chronicles I), Fractured Fantasies (Valentine's Venom), Fractured Fantasies (Volume 1) and coming soon, Fractured Fantasies (Volume Two).
I live in Southern California, a stone's throw from Disneyland, with my family and the most ridiculously spoiled pets anyone could imagine. I wake everyday with the determination to make this life as random, quirky and beautiful as it can be.

Fractured Fantasies, Volume Two Excerpt:
"Babe, this isn't our first gig. I know what I'm doing. Right now, I'm Allan Poe. In a few more days, I won't be. Simple as that. I already have what I need to get us set up." He lowered his voice. "This is the last one. I swear. No one's going to miss her. I have access to all her personal accounts not to mention I've already siphoned off her business accounts. The house sold before we left and the monies transferred to her savings."
Aurelius snorted. "Well, hurry up. She bugs me."
"How? You've never met her."
"Are you defending her? Is that defense I hear in your tone?"
Allan's tone hardened, his words icy. "No. But considering I'm doing this for you, I'd appreciate it if you scaled it back and remembered the bigger picture."
Unmoved, Aurelius countered. "As long as you remember it. Call me when it's done." He hung up.
Allan's hand curled tightly around his own cell phone before hitting end call and leaning back. He loved Aurelius, he did. He wanted a life with him. But there were times, the younger man's narcissism and selfishness grated his nerves. He attributed it to the generation gap and could only hope Aurelius mellowed as time moved on.
"Did you really think I wouldn't find out?" Lennie demanded, intruding on his thoughts.
Allan nearly jumped, inwardly damning himself for not paying closer attention and noticing the hair dryer had been turned off.
She stood there in the doorway, the floral print of her sundress setting of her dark hair. Her jaw clenched several times and her eyes were devoid of the warmth he'd grown used to seeing in them.
How much had she heard? This wasn't good. What to do? Deny culpability? Play dumb?
He held her stare for countless moments before she burst out laughing and held up her bright pink, disposable Daisy razor. "You used my razor for shaving your scruff. Not cool, babe. But since you're pretty good in bed, I'll let it go. This time."
Allan nearly vomited with relief, managing to play the sheepish male. "Yeah. I left mine back home. Sorry, honey." His hammering heart began to slow down, his brows arching. "Wait. What? Pretty good in bed? How rude." Sauntering towards her, he leaned down to steal a kiss but laughed when she pinched his lips shut.
"Later, we can go for Gold and test that theory again. For now, my stomach is rumbling, the light is fading and we have sights to see."

Ties that Bind by Torie James & Jammie Lynn

1. How did you start writing erotic romance? Funny story that. Completely by accident and on a dare from a dear author friend of mine. At the time, I was under contract with Breathless Press (sadly, they've close up shop since) and a Valentine Anthology had been discussed. I'd made plans to stay out of it and stick to my straight paranormal flight path but once I'd mentioned that I got called out. You know those scenes in Back to The Future when anyone labeled Marty McFly a coward or chicken? That's me. I'm the Marty McFly of the literary world.
2. Plotter or pantster? An insane combination of both. I'm the bastard hybrid. Behold, The Plantser.
3. What are three things you have on your writing desk? A bag of Rolo's, sonic screwdriver (the 11th doctor's) and my Game of Thrones Daenerys POP doll.
4. Favorite food? Chocolate.
5. Tell us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to you?
Ties That Bind is the beginning of a new series, called The Cloie Chronicles.
The main character of Cloie is very precious to me. As are ALL of my characters! However, Cloie is the sole reason I found courage and strength to once more pursue my dream of writing. As a huge fan of mythology, I eventually tumbled into The Dark Hunters Series, by Sherrilyn Kenyon (*swoons* total fangirl!!) in which mythology plays a huge part.  One of the main protagonists is the younger half brother to the Greek Fates: Atropos, Lachesis and Clotho. They are referenced here and there, but not in a favorable light. No one really has anything good to say about those Goddesses now that I think about it!
I decided to change that after I joined a DH role play group and ended up with Clotho...Cloie...as my character. I began to ask myself what her real story was. I refused to believe, as all of mythology would indicate, that she was cold, unfair and vicious, playing with lives like a child with toys. There was more to Cloie...I just knew it.
One of the most amazing people I know, I met through roleplay in the DH world.  The person behind this particular role play character went on to become a very intense and major part of Cloie herself and I am very proud to have her input and work as my writing partner on this series. Without Jammie Lynn, there would be far less to this story overall. She's a true soul sister.
One of my greatest joys has been bringing  Cloie to life and sharing her story with the world. She has taught me there are differences between who we are and what we do. She has changed my life in countless ways and helped me change my own stars.
And we're still going strong...
6. I write because ____... I don't know how NOT to.
7. What is your favorite type of character to write about? I love writing about people with flaws. Anyone can fall in love with the sunshine. I want to present that shadows can be just as loveable.
8. What is the sexiest scene you ever wrote? Tough one! *thinks* Actually, the sexiest, thus far, is an upcoming scene from a future "Cloie" book. *fans self* Still waters run deep, right? *cheeky grin*
9. What advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field? Never give up. Never give in. It's hard and it's going to get harder. You will cry, scream, rip hair from your scalp and curse the stars. You'll want to quit a million times. I urge you to stop, breathe and remember why you started to begin with. You. Can. Do. This.
10. What is next on your writerly horizon?

Let's see. I'm nearly finished on the 3rd book in my New Camelot Series, working on Volume 4 of the Fractured Fantasies series I'm embarked on and mapping out the sequel to Ties That Bind, tentatively titled "Written in the Stars".

Torie James

Author Bio:
I've loved reading since I was old enough to hold a book in my lap. While my friends were out playing, I was generally curled up nearby falling down rabbit holes, catching second stars to the right, and stepping through wardrobes into mysterious lands and countless adventures. When those stories ended, I made up my own and kept going.
This later on translated into a strong passion for writing that has helped me keep my feet on the ground and my head in the clouds.
Lover of Dr. Pepper, all things chocolate, and Duran Duran, my dreams finally became a reality with the publication of Timeless Night, with the amazing people at Breathless Press.  Timeless Night begat Timeless Desire. I'm currently working on the third book in the series, Timeless Surrender. I've also written several short erotica tales called Fractured Fantasies on top of beginning the sequel to Ties That Bind: The Cloie Chronicles with my writing partner, Jammie Lynn.

Excerpt:
"Smile, child. This is your wedding day."
Cloie stared straight ahead, refusing to meet Zeus's gaze, although she heard thick lust coloring each word. The leisurely stroke of his hand swept down her arm in proprietary fashion, lingering along the gentle swell of her right hip before he stopped.
“I’d smile were the groom of my choosing, Papa.”
Zeus’s fingers curled around the nape of her neck, holding her in place. The stinging, heat of his powers seared her flesh with lacerating pain, causing her to flinch once, then grow still. She refused to shed a tear or make a single sound. Despite the burning agony, she wouldn't give her stepfather the satisfaction.
“I know well what your choice would be, Clotho. I’m about to make you Goddess Queen of the Norse Pantheon and you still defy me! For your idiot pet!" Zeus’s hot breath washed over her ear, his lips brushing the delicate shell. His grip on her neck tightened, the acrid stench of scorched flesh choking her.
“He’s not my pet.” She bit out, coughing.
“He is nothing! He lives because of Odin's stupidity and your defiance! And you would be his whore!”
“Better his whore than your daughter.” Defiance flared in her voice.
Snarling, the Greek King of the Gods shook her like a rag doll, forcing her to meet his blazing cerulean eyes. “You will marry Dagr. You will act as befits the daughter of Zeus and a Queen of Asgard. If at any time, I sense Dagr’s unhappiness with this union or you, I myself will destroy Soren. If you disobey me, the same. I see defiance in your eyes, Clotho. And arrogance. I can't kill him but I can make him wish for death. His quality of life depends on your performance and your obedience to your loving Papa.”
Always using her heart against her. His modus operandi never wavered. It worked every time. And well the Olympian knew it.
“Then best you get me to the altar, Papa.”
Each word was laced with careful respect, all rebellion gone from her in the face of his threat. She'd harmed Soren enough, she would not allow Zeus to lay one finger on the keeper of her heart. Cloie kept her face impassive when Zeus released her, swallowing hard past the knot of anguish his hands on her skin had caused. Clever God, none would see the wounds he'd inflicted with her hair down as it was.  Unbound hair to attest to her innocence. Ha!
“I will marry Dagr. I will be a most worthy Queen and helpmate. I shall unite Norse and Greeks together as no other union has. I will do all of this and more.” She slid dainty fingers around his elbow while he used his powers to swing aside the silky curtains of the white tent Hera insisted she have to prepare in. “But by my own word, if you ever lay a harmful hand on Soren, it will be the last time you have such.”
“Empty threats, child. And well you know it. Just do as I tell you and there will be no need. You’ll thank me when you are ruling Asgard.”
“Don’t you mean when you are ruling?”
“Clever girl.”

Breathless Monday: Point of No Return

Today please welcome the amazing Torie James with her newest Halloween Flirt! Torie is a talented author and I just finished reading another fun adventure from her today...take it away Torie!

1. How did you start writing erotic romance? A personal dare. There was a time when I'd thought I'd ever only want to write historical romance fiction (a la Barbara Cartland!) but I've yet to pen anything remotely resembling that. *laughs* I made the mistake of discovering some erotica and fell in love.
2. Plotter or pantster? Total punster. I have plotter tendencies and good intentions but never matters. I'm winging it!
3. What are three things you have on your writing desk? My Excalibur letter opener, a black rose and my Harry Potter wand!
4. Favorite food? Tacos!
5. Tell us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to you? Point of No Return is a prequel of sorts to a full length novel I'm working on. It tells the story of Avan Noxturna, the only daughter of the Devil himself and anxious to prove to her father that she is more than capable of taking over the business. However, both Heaven and Hell are conspiring against her and a very big, arrogant fly is about to land in her personal ointment. Avan spoke to me right from the beginning. She's challenge to write because she is very much into business, numbers, statistics and data. I, however, am not! *laughs* I love her independence. Yeah, her dad is Lucifer and all that jazz but she wants her life to mean more than just being a pampered princess. She's very somber and serious. Another challenge as I am neither!
6. I write because I have no other desire...
7. What is your favorite type of character to write about? I love writing about imperfection. We all have flaws, character defects, issues, etc. Mostly, I find joy in writing about women or men who are different, yet confident with it.
8. What is the sexiest scene you ever wrote? My first book, Timeless Night. My heroine, Sabrina, had finally had enough of the sexual tension between her and her protector, Alex. She lured him to a night club and teased him mercilessly into losing his cool and shattering his reserve. He took her up to the roof of the club, under the stars and made her his. It was beautiful and poignant for them both and in the end, sensual and loving.
9. What advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field? Hold on. Don't let go. Write from your heart and soul and go from there. Do NOT worry about what anyone else thinks and carry on. Trust your voice!
10. What is next on your writerly horizon? Book 4 of my New Camelot Series, I'm outlining Fables of Fire and Stone, as well as researching for a book on the Tudor family. Oh, and happily planning work for my book about the Greek Goddess of Fate, Clotho.

Author Bio
"If you really want to read a book that hasn't been written yet, then you must write it" ~Toni Morrison~

Torie James has loved reading since she was old enough to hold a book in her lap. While her friends were out playing, she was generally curled up nearby falling down rabbit holes, catching second stars to the right, and stepping through wardrobes into mysterious lands and countless adventures. When those stories ended, she made up her own and kept going. This later on translated into a strong passion for writing that has helped her keep her feet on the ground while her head stayed firmly in the clouds. Slated for 3 more books in that series, she's also currently working on The Cloie Chronicles, The Tudor Files, Avan Noxturna: Soul Broker and the Fables of Blood and Stone. Two short stories, No Change Policy in Room 8 and Reclaiming the Rabbit Hole can be found in My Bloody Valentine and Wonderland Tales, respectively, through her publisher, Breathless Press.

Review:
This flirt was smoking hot and I couldn't put it down. The start of what I am told will be a much longer story, I am eager to read more. The voice was snarky, the characters wonderful and the stage Torie James has set with her angels and demons makes me wish for an invitation to this party. The seven deadlies really do have the most fun...but I want more right now.

Excerpt
She enjoyed being a highly sexual female who felt no shame in shagging a man for recreational purposes. Guys did it all the time and they were called studs. A woman with the same goal? Slut. Luckily, she didn't much care what anyone thought. She had no desire to settle into a bullshit relationship where she lost her identity. Her mother had schooled her. She was an island and it suited her fine when the occasional ship came into port, docking on a temporary pass. A lustful interlude with a masked stranger on Halloween? Cliché. And tempting. She did have a few extra minutes.
Then he filled her vision and she grew damp under the heated gaze.
One. Quick. Fuck.
Medicinal purposes only.

He opened his mouth to speak and she shook her head. "Shh. Don't talk. You'll ruin it."

Torie James: Timeless Desire

Trust hides the truth and spans eternity when one secret—born of treachery and upheld by honor—stands between a broken heart and shattered soul.

If you could live forever, what would you choose to live for? I chose honor...

Awakening to a new world, Gawain has high hopes that the last 500 years have cooled the fires of hatred burning in the heart of his wife, Nimue. Cruelly betrayed by the one person she put all her faith and trust in, Nimue hasn't forgotten the lone cowardly act of one of King Arthur's greatest knights. Together again and yet forever apart, can they heal the past when a new enemy rises to threaten the foundation of all they hold dear?

Excerpt:

"Nim. I don't want to fight anymore tonight. I'm tired and annoyed. Hate me all you want, berate me until you're blue. But you need to feed. You're still not fully recovered from the poison. Stop being stubborn, woman and take it."
Her light fingers on his arm were soft as she pushed it away and rolled up her own sleeve.
He faltered. "What are you doing?"
"I've taken enough of your blood, Gawain. And you've not once asked for mine. Fairness dictates I rectify that."
He caught his breath, already salivating at the image of his lips on her flesh, her taste filling his head, his body. "Change of heart, Nim? Dare I hope your hatred for me is weakening?"
Her pale, azure eyes met his own, face impassive. "Don't read anything into it, Gawain. As I said, I owe you. And despite my personal views on your black soul, your brothers love you. As does Merlyn. Uther needs to be destroyed, I understand the need for retribution, trust me. And it's your right. I swore to never reveal your treachery. And I won't. I can hope you have presence of mind, someday, to come clean and admit what happened to the others on your own. Once you clear your conscience, I'll be more than happy to help you along to the afterlife. But right now, they need you. So do you want it or not?"
"I'll take anything you offer me, Nim. Even if it's just your blood."
His large hands caressed her arm, curling around the delicate wrist and bringing it closer. It would be ecstasy to drink from her, it always was. Her taste always hinted at pomegranates or elderberries. Delicious, heady. He could smell her blood now, saw it thrumming through the delicate blue veins under the skin. Her heart pumped fast, her pulse skittish. Feeling his fangs punch down in anticipation, he hovered over her ulnar artery, his gaze holding hers as he bit down, breaking through the skin. She gasped, her eyes holding his. The rich flavor of her blood hitting his tongue was all it took and he was harder than stone, throbbing for her. He pulled on the vein slowly, watching her lashes sweep down, obscuring her eyes, her breathing altered in panting sighs. Another mouthful and memories fell into his mind, of them making love, laughing. So long ago. Teasing minx, he'd shown her decadent things that had her blushing but eager. Her mouth on him, warm and wet, torturing him with her tongue, her grip on his shaft all the while. His hands buried in her glorious, silky blonde hair as he came in throbbing spurts and she greedily swallowed it all down. Oh Gods.
Her blood heated, the flavor coupled now with her own body's arousal as he drank. Lifting his head, he ran his tongue over the fang marks, head buzzing with energy, with her. His mouth trailed a moist, bloodied path up her arm, dipping into her clavicle. His fangs nipped her throat, he moved closer and before he could stop himself, he sank into her carotid artery and almost came from the intense rush it brought. He barely missed her own arms wrapping around his shoulders, pulling him down on top of her as she laid back, hooking a long leg around his hip unconsciously.
Was he dreaming? Surely, he must be and had no wish to wake. He felt her arch up under him, every sleek angle of her body pressing up into him and lost control. Tearing his mouth from her throat, he laved the wound shut and sat up, grabbing the hem of her thin top, ripping it off. She wasn't wearing a bra. Her perfect, small breasts thrust upward proudly, nipples tight and begging for attention. She moaned, thrashing beneath him, her own fingers fumbling for the zipper on his pants when a soft knock on the door had her freezing, eyes snapping wide open to blaze hell his way. She growled low, blinking and shoved upwards so hard, he flew back and hit the floor with a solid thump.
"Nimue? Is Gawain with you? I'm making sure everyone is accounted for. Alex reset security to extend down the whole hill. I’ll add my wards to reinforce." Merlyn's voice was muffled on the other side.
"Yes. He's with me. He's just leaving. Is Bri okay?" She narrowed eyes at him and he glared back, standing up slowly and looming over her.
"She's sleeping already. I doped her up. She won't be pleased when she wakes, I'm sure. Alex is with her."
"That's good." She pointed at the door, dropping her voice to hiss at Gawain. "Get. Out."
He gave a slow, devilish grin, staring at her wickedly. "I'll have you again, Nim. We both know it." Christos, she turned him on so much, even in anger.
"You're threatening the wrong person, Gawain. My blood is the only thing I owe you."
"We'll see, my Lady Disdain. And it wasn't a threat, love. It's pure promise." He swooped low, capturing her mouth once more with his for a quick, hard kiss then was gone in a rush of air.

Timeless Night: A Visit with Torie James

If you could live forever, what would you choose to live for? I chose love...

A silent guardian, Alexander has walked the corridors of time in pursuit of an end to a haunting prophecy. Sabrina has lived a life surrounded by modern magic, unaware that the greatest and deadliest of powers reside within her own soul. If it only takes the light of love to ignite the stars, what of the decadent seduction of darkness? All roads don’t lead home and some myths only grow into legend.

Excerpt:

"Did you do that?"
"Do what? Screw up a perfectly good cake? Yes, yes I did."
He moved to her side. "No. I mean, did you make the fire go out?"
"What? I don’t know. No. Yes. Maybe. Why?" She slid her eyes up to his and he was taken aback by the venom in that gaze.
"What’s wrong with you?"
"You want the whole list or just the Cliff Notes?" She frowned back down at the pan and snorted in disgust at the blackened lump and shook her head. "Sorry about your oven. And pan. Cooking was never a strong point." She evaded answering his question.
"Then why did you start it?" He watched her agitated actions as she tried to dump out the "cake", shoving it down the garbage disposal with a wooden spoon. She was upset about something but for the life of him, he couldn’t figure out what.
"My Huntress, what’s wrong?"
"Stop that! Just stop that!" She threw the switch on the disposal, keeping her face from him.
"Stop what?" He was genuinely confused.
"That whole "my huntress" bit. I’m not yours." Killing the switch, she mindlessly cleaned up her mess, stepping around him, still not making eye contact then she switched topics. "What are you doing home already anyway? Thought you’d be out for hours or whatever. You know, hunting." The way she curled her lip on the last word wasn’t lost on him.
"Sabrina, it’s necessary I make sure there are no more loose rogues running through the city, I told you that. The last thing we need is an army sneaking up on us. We need to fo—"
"Focus. Yep. I know." She made to go around him again as she grabbed at some dusty measuring cups, but he snaked out a hand and pulled her closer.
"What is wrong with you? And don’t bother ly—"
She cut him off curtly. "Lying? Because you’ll know? Does that line work on all women or do you just save it for me?" Her angry, bright eyes met his again, her tone derisive as she forged on, not letting him answer. "Fine, want to know what’s wrong? You. You’re what’s wrong. You come blowing into my life looking like yummy wrapped up in delish, turn me into a vampire...excuse me...a guardian...my bad. Then you make me live in this freaking palace with you. One minute you’re either chastising me or you’re turning me on, and then pushing me away. And all the while, feeding me some mythical crap story about how I’m your dead wife and then leave me here, alone, while you go off and fang fuck God knows how many women and I have to..."
Alex was close to losing it, half torn between laughing at her obvious jealousy and growling with displeasure at how she wasn’t seeing the larger picture at all. He yanked her even closer.
Again, bad idea.
Her unfettered, sweetly rounded breasts crushed against his hard chest, causing her to squeak and him to moan, whispering low. "Are you truly being obtuse or do you just enjoy torturing me?"
"Torture you? Torture You? What about me? I go my whole damn life wondering when or if, I’ll ever know what it feels like to desire anything other than work and there you are. But you can’t stand touching me. I’m repulsive."
He wanted to shake her, throttle some sense into the stubborn package that was Sabrina. "So, the concerns of a thousand years mean nothing to you? Or the fact that I’m trying desperately to figure out how we keep the past from repeating itself and all you’re concerned with is having sex?"
"Oh, way to trivialize my feelings. Thanks."
"They are trivial compared to everything else, yes. You think I’m not touching you because I find you revolting?" He pushed her back against the counter, a devil on his shoulder as he slowly ground his hips into her, letting her feel the steely bulge of his erection. "Does that feel like I’m disgusted by you?"
"Then why? Why won’t you...?" She bit off her own low growl, shoulders slumping in defeat even as her arms slid around his waist unconsciously, keeping them together. "Why won’t you make love to me?"
"Did you ever think for a moment in your lovely, outraged sense of dramatics that perhaps I don’t want to do anything that will harm you more than help?" He couldn’t be this close to her without his heart hitching painfully, his instincts keening as the sleeping beast struggled to take over. The fact remained it was becoming harder and harder to resist her, to resist the passion that was clearly there between them. It was much stronger this time around. Much.
"Alex." Her voice was husky, sincere. "I read your other journal. I know you think that making love will somehow make me more vulnerable. That you felt you had diminished Vivianne’s power somehow. But, I don’t think that’s it at all."
"You read that?" A low growl rumbled deep in his chest. "Break into my things, did you?"
"Recon work. That’s my story." She snaked a hand up his back to curl around his neck. "Alex. You didn’t do anything wrong. Neither did Vivianne. Why do you think it made her vulnerable?"
He set his face mulishly. "Merlyn once said that her power lay in her purity. She died the day after I made her mine." His haunted tone was thick. "Merlyn also said he thought she was invulnerable to mortal weapons and yet Mordred ran her through and pierced her heart. Tell me how that was not my fault? I’m not willing to risk you like that. Do you understand me? I won’t sit by and watch you die. Not again."
He lowered his head even as he spoke, unable to stop the scorching, needy kiss that had her clutching at his back and him lifting her slightly onto the counter. She wrapped her legs around him tightly, body arching under the contact. He was going up in flames, and knew she was melting into a puddle of need and arousal, he felt it for one hot moment.

1. How did you start writing erotic romance? I’d tried several genres before I returned to what I loved most which is erotic romance. Nothing immerses me more in fantasy or makes me feel more magical than the world of romance. That’s not to say I won’t attempt to tackle other genres at some point, but for now, if it ain’t broke, no need to fix it.

2. Plotter or pantster? Both! It’s a sickness from which I’m afraid there is no cure. I have the best of intentions at the beginning of each book but usually two to four pages in, all my meticulous planning sails right out the window and I’m pantsering it big time!

3. What are three things you have on your writing desk? My Harry Potter Wand, the framed copyright to Timeless Night and my big ol’ Owl decorated sippy cup.

4. Favorite food? Taco pie! My mum makes the best!

5. Tell us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to you? Timeless Night is the first book in my New Camelot series. I took all the worn out, done to death, tales of Camelot, Merlin, Arthur and Excalibur and refashioned them, retooled them. What if Excalibur hadn’t been a mystical, mythical sword? What if it was more? What if all that legendary power was actually embodied in a person? And what if decisions made a thousand years ago were still being played out today? Of all my characters in this book, I’d have to say the character who haunted me most was Alexander, the Knight formerly known as Lancelot. To love like that? To have that kind devotion and soul? To carry the burden he has since one rainy day in Wales...well, he and I had many heart to heart chats. I like to think I helped to heal him as much as Sabrina, my heroine, did.

6. I write because ____...its unbearable to NOT write.

7. What is your favorite type of character to write about? Women with massive flaws. Imperfect and a bit loony in their ways, yet strong and independent.

8. What is the sexiest scene you ever wrote? Mmm! The first sex scene with Alex and Sabrina in Timeless Night. Dark, heated, a bit of the kink thrown in for their public display of affection. *winks*

9. What advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field? Don’t give up. Ever. It will be hard, you will want to quit and you will find yourself wondering if it’s ever going to be worth it. It is. Trust me.

10. What is next on your writerly horizon? Book 2 of New Camelot, Timeless Desire, will be available on March 21st, through the fab peeps at Breathless Press. I’m so excited! And I’ve submitted the beginning of what I hope turns out to be a new series called The Cloie Chronicles. That’s about the Greek Goddess of Fate, Clotho. Torn between two men who want her and the secret they all share. And...I’ve already begun working on Book 3 of New Camelot, Timeless Seduction.
