A healthy Master/submissive relationship is not very different from a regular relationship! That might surprise a lot of people, but the fact is that ALL strong, long-term relationships rely on the same few key elements to survive; Love and Trust. A BDSM relationship certainly relies on trust... but then so does a regular relationship! And the best BDSM relationships are loving, caring ones.... just like regular relationships! What really sets a BDSM relationship apart from the regular ones we might enjoy in our own lives is the distinction between the roles. Most relationships might be mutual in every way, whereas a submissive CHOOSES to submit to their Master. This submission might manifest itself in who makes the decisions between the couple, as well as the nature of their sexual relationship.

Writing about BDSM and dominant men who interact with submissive women is a challenge for any writer who doesn’t know their subject - or what makes people tick. I have been very fortunate to be able to draw on the experiences of several real life Masters, and many women who live their lives as actual submissives.

It is that research that makes my stories so realistic, so relatable, and so accurate. My stories, such as Her Master’s Voice, and Her Master’s Kiss have earned high praise from authorities within the BDSM community for their accuracy - it is acclaim that I am immensely proud of.

Review:

This book grabbed me on the first page and was a titillating read. Viv is totally right. The dynamics of BDSM are all about love and trust. I found this book to be very spot on when it came to emotional responses, especially when Kate's new Master called her on the phone and began giving her direction. *shivers* I could completely imagine the scene in my head and the story just took off from there. Balancing "real life" with a BDSM relationship has its challenges and Kate will have to navigate a few of those as the story unfolds. 

One thing did strike me overall and that is you don't need anything but voice and intent to stir the blood and author Vivien Sparx does a wonderful job showing us just how its done.

Great read and smoking hot!

They may be fictional worlds and fictional characters, but the themes of love and romance and erotica are so universal, and so personal to each of us that we all respond to stories in different ways.

But we all respond.

And that’s the true joy of writing erotic romance. It matters not so much how you respond as you read… it matters only that you do respond. If a writer can engage you and make you feel, then the story’s journey is one well worth taking.

This story captured my attention on the first page. Julianna has a voice that resonates with any strong willed woman trying to find her place. In her world, that is being a submissive. Open mouth, insert foot is a common affliction of mine and I had to laugh out loud every time Julianna found herself in just that predicament. 

Lonely and trying so hard to be the perfect submissive, Julianna finds herself in the middle of a sadist bent on destroying her, but is saved by her protector and the man she has been dreaming of for years. The story spins into a powerful passion play of love, forgiveness and tenderness that had me turning the pages late into the night to find out what happened next. 

Drake, Trevor, Julianna and Mika are all characters with breathable characteristics and I felt like they were my friends by the time the book was over. The drama was unpredictable, the tensions palpable, chemistry undeniable and the little humorous points interjected here and there make the story absolutely perfect. We haven't even gotten to the sex scenes yet.

The club scene was right on, as were the interactions between Drake, the protector and his slave/lover Trevor. Julianna and Mika were the perfect match as well as we journey with them into the hesitation of a new relationship and beyond. Author Jenna Jacobs explains much of what happens in BDSM dynamics for the reader who may be unfamiliar with the lifestyle and illuminates Master/slave and Dominant/submissive roles. The sex is smoking hot and you are going to need some ice water. Lots of it!

I loved every page of this book, even the parts that had me cringing in horror. There is a scene where Julianna is attacked by the sadist she mistakenly thinks is a potential Dom. It can be a trigger if you have been a victim of sexual violence. It is powerful but so is the aftermath, and reading through it is worthwhile, even if it leaves you shuddering and crying like it did me. Flashbacks are a bitch, but Jenna Jacobs has done a superb job on this first book in the series and I am anxious to read the next one. This book is 5 stars all the way! If you want a book that will have you sweating bullets and turning the pages, you have to give Embracing My Submission a read. You won't regret it.

That is the ultimate question facing Emily as she makes a discovery that her marriage is nothing but a shell and her husband Justin is a Master in a Guild that trains and brokers slaves.  Emily is turned on  by the idea of becoming a slave and soon learns that some things there is no going back from. 

This book was a page turning journey of self discovery. A slave has nothing. No personal possessions, rights or anything else. Watching as Emily, now em walks down the  road to sexual submission, I found myself riveted by her ordeals and the freeing aspect of what and who she becomes. At times, the book gets very dark, but without the dark, there is no light. I could literally write about this book for hours. I had to put it down and pick it up again very shortly thereafter. Reading about the things Justin puts Emily through, I was torn about how I wanted the story to end. It leaves it open and I am hopeful that it will lead to another book. One word description: epic.

I have to say this is one of my favorite books in the dark erotica category and I will be checking out more of this author's work. It is electric and visceral. You feel what the main character is going through and you know that this author is well versed in the BDSM lifestyle and writes from the heart and soul of her experiences. To say I was moved was an understatement. This book is epic and needs to me on every BDSM reader's TBR list.
