Cowboy Lust Virtual Book Tour and Giveaway

Cowboy Lust
an anthology edited by Delilah Devlin

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
These cowboys ride hard...
There's a reason Western romance novels never go out of fashion. The cowboy is an iconic figure embodying the dichotomy of the fiercely independent, earthy alpha male crossed with the male as a nurturer and protector. Cowboys take care of their women in every possible way. Wild and wayward women are gentled by the scent of horse and cow and the sight of sun-kissed skin, the feel of work-hardened thighs and arms, and the sound of a deep-voiced Texas drawl.
Contributors at the top of the Western romance genre, including Charlene Teglia, Randi Alexander, Cat Johnson, and editor, Delilah Devlin, have corralled strong and memorable characters ranging from ranch hands to cattle barons, to a rodeo star and a feisty female gunslinger. Traversing romantic settings from Montana, Texas, California, Mexico, and the Outback of Australia, the stories in Cowboy Lust are risky and risqué, full of studs in spurs hot enough to send you to a vacation on a dude ranch!
One randomly drawn commenter at each stop will win one of the following:
Cowboy Bad Boys (digital) by Randi Alexander
Reader’s Choice of any backlisted ebook by Lissa Matthews
Reader’s Choice of any backlisted ebook by Charlene Teglia during her stop
Signed copies of Cowboy Fever by Delilah Devlin to two winners
Love in Short Order (digital), a romance by Michael Bracken writing as Rolinda Hay
Plus one randomly drawn commenter will win a $50 Amazon GC grand prize. So, make sure you leave a comment about your favorite smokin hot cowboy!
EXCERPT:
“The Ranch Hand”  by Sedona Fox:
Jesse carried Charlene to the guest bed and laid her down gently.  He made quick work of unbuttoning the front of her dress and grabbed his boot knife from the side table, slicing the corset’s lacing on both sides.  He never understood why women would torture themselves with such a restricting garment and he had seen too many suffer the consequences of the fashion.  This woman had seemed uncomfortable from the moment they met, and he wondered if she normally adopted more practical clothing on a day to day basis.  The fact that her skin held a healthy sun glow told him she didn’t spend her days shielded by shadow doing needlepoint.
Now that the corset had been loosened, her breathing became easier.  Jesse couldn’t help but place his hand on her cheek as he watched her.  He tried to tell himself it was to make sure she didn’t have some kind of fever that may have caused her distress.  Suddenly, he found himself brushing her bottom lip with his thumb.  Her skin was like silk and he wondered if her hair was just as soft.  The space where her full lips parted was like an invitation to kiss her, but he held himself back as her eyelids fluttered, slowly opening to reveal the rich brown of her eyes.
“How are you feeling, Miss Solt?”
“Charley,” she whispered.  Was she delirious?  Her eyes did still seem a bit glazed.  Or was she mistaking him for someone else?  That thought disturbed him.
“Everyone calls me Charley,” she continued.  “Except for Papa.”  Her gaze flickered around the room and back to him, and she seemed more aware of her situation.  “What happened?”
“You fainted,” Jesse told her, a slight smirk picking up the corner of his mouth.  “Why you women insist on wearing such things is a mystery to me.”
1. How did you get started writing erotica?  Writing erotica is something I never thought I would do.  I read a lot of romance and erotica, but had always written in other genres.  I went to a signing event to get a book signed and met several other authors while I was there.  Delilah Devlin was one of those authors.  She told me about different calls for submissions that were available and I decided to go for it.  That is how The Ranch Hand came about.  I am thrilled to be included in the Cowboy Lust anthology.
2. What is the funniest sex scene you ever had to write and why?  For me, any sex scene I write strikes me as humorous.  Mainly because I blush so much while writing it.
3. Cowboys are pretty sexy. Who are some of your favorites?  Clint Eastwood and Sam Elliott.  They both have that ruggedness about them that I find intriguing.  They represent what I always thought cowboys would be like.  Although, Nathan Fillion played an incredible modernized cowboy in Firefly.  Admittedly, I have a thing for gunslingers.
4. What other writing projects are you working on?  Currently, I’m working on the first book of a paranormal romance series called Darkstar Assassins.  I’m hoping to have it out by the end of 2012 or the very beginning of 2013.
5. Cowboys vs. Aliens or Blazing Saddles?  Cowboys vs. Aliens.  I have a soft spot for sci-fi.
6. Lone Ranger or John Wayne?  Lone Ranger.  I think it’s the mystery of the mask.
7. What makes a cowboy erotica story really hot for you?  It’s difficult to pin down any specific element.  Perhaps it’s the potential for light bondage with the lasso.  Though, I have to say, there’s something about a cowboy being able to wrestle a steer to the ground that makes you wonder what they might be like in bed.
8. Did you have music in mind when you wrote your piece for the anthology? Do you write to music?
Usually when I write, I have a soundtrack in my head that suits each scene.  Oddly enough, that didn’t happen with this piece.  However, I don’t write to music playing in the background.  I find it distracting.
9. Do you plot your stories or just let the characters take you where the story leads?  Typically, I have a general plan of how I’d like the plot to play out, but my characters usually have different ideas and I let them take the lead.
10. What are some of your hobbies when you are not mad at work writing wonderfully seductive erotica?  I absolutely love to read.  When I’m not reading or writing, I like to design costuming or play around in Photoshop.  The rest of my spare time is spent with my husband and rescues.
Cowboys are just dead sexy. Can't get around it. I remember reading a series called Crystal Creek back in my early bookseller days and falling in love with the idea of a hero that could walk into my life with a full passel of manners, a hat, a horse and sexy swagger that could melt my bones by just imagining what he could do to me when the lights were out. Combine that with a little rope bondage now and that would be just my speed. Hmmm. Maybe an idea for a story. Cowboys and rope bondage. I like it, but I digress...
What I Liked:
This anthology was all rough riding cowboys that made my toes curl. Every story had a different take, from contemporary to historical. Anthologies are great because you can get to know tons of new authors and then branch out to see what else they have. I loved these stories. Cleis always puts together a beautifully done book and this one is no exception.
Some of my absolute fav's were Sedona Fox's The Ranch Hand, Michael Bracken's Drought, Charlene Teglia's Roped, Randi Alexander's, Banging the Cowboy and Kimber Vale's Some Like It Dirty. Full of spurs, bucks and broncos of every kind, this smoking hot collection of hunks on horseback is addictive and I read it cover to cover. It has earned a spot on my favorite e-book list.
What I Didn't:
It ended. Sigh. I want another one.
Overall:
This collection of erotic cowboys stories is one that I have been recommending to friends and co-workers. Full of authors I am now adding to my ever growing must read list, this book was a rowdy romp in the saddle with some hotter than hot cowboys. Makes me happy I live in Texas! Full of romance, erotic moments, well defined characters, spice, adventure and some creative horsemanship, this book is staying on my erotica shelf for a long time to come.
5/5
BDSM Blog Hop and Giveaway
Welcome to the BDSM Blog Hop hosted by Scorching Book Reviews!
Why do we like BDSM? As I read more and more fiction and study the nuances of the reality, I think it has a lot to do with giving up control, to get it. As a sub, the biggest gift I could give would be my undivided trust that my Dom knows my needs and can take me places that only He/She can. Likewise, the biggest gift a Dom could give would be to treasure and love His/Her sub and keep them safe, even in the midst of places where pain and pleasure become one.
Today, I am having a giveaway for print copies of some of Cleis Press' wonderful erotica anthologies. There will be three books up for grabs. This is a US only giveaway. These anthologies have some of the best authors in the erotica field today. All you have to do is vote on the book you would love to have and why it strikes your fancy...
