There’s no place like home…especially for a wolf who shouldn’t have run away.

Wylder Aaron always knew Starr Joseph was his mate, but the time wasn’t right for them. To escape his hopeless feelings for her, he fled Los Lobos and joined the military, not even saying goodbye.

Starr wanted nothing more in life than Wylder. When he left, she fled too. Her sultry beauty made her an instant success as the new look for a major cosmetics firm. However, fame is fleeting. At twenty-six, she’s old news and forgotten. Worse, loneliness led her into the arms of another were-shifter with a jealous streak. During his last rage, he slashed the side of her face, promising to kill her the next time she tried to flee.

She did anyway, returning to the safety and anonymity of Los Lobos…straight into Wylder’s arms.

Excerpt #3:

His heart cramped but he managed a smile and held up the candy. “My treat. How many would you like?”
“The whole box.”
He counted thirty. “Didn’t your mom tell you these would rot your teeth?”
“I’m making up for lost time. For ten years, I wasn’t allowed even one candy bar. A camera puts on the pounds, you know.”
Poor deprived baby. He grabbed the box and the one with the Milky Ways beside it, her next fave. Some shifters had a hard time with chocolate, the same as dogs. Not her. Him either. Another way they fit. “You like Butterfinger, Twix, Snickers? Say the word, they’re yours.” He wanted to buy her the whole damn store. He would have done anything to give her the world.
Her irises shifted, turning a deep gold the way they always did when she was happy or aroused. However, her shoulders were also shaking with suppressed laughter. “I was only kidding. Not about the ten-year sentence without candy but wanting the whole box. You can put it back.”
He didn’t. “I’m serious. Whatever you want, name it, it’s yours.” As long as she didn’t tell him she wanted peace again, freedom, and space from him.
A pink flush crept up her throat, the same color tinting her cheeks. Shoppers passed. Neither he nor Starr acknowledged anyone else, the air between them suddenly thick with promise. Perspiration slid down his spine and the side of his face. He was so damn hot, in another couple of seconds he might burst into flames.
She cradled his cheek, drawing her thumb over his bottom lip. Currents of new warmth swept through him. His mouth, the back of his throat, and the tips of his toes tingled. A sound escaped his throat he didn’t recognize as being quite human or animal. She sighed breathily and melted into him with stunning ease, her lips brushing his.
He groaned. She fitted her mouth to his, muting the sound, and slipped her tongue inside.
Aw God. His knees sagged, bumping hers. She tasted of life, hope, pleasure, love, a flavor only a supernatural being could create, her mouth hotter than the sun, sweeter than spring. Nothing on this earth had ever satisfied him better.
He pressed into her. She did the same with him, their thighs touching. A pulse beat hard in his throat and temple. Each breath he took was meager but filled with her wondrous fragrance. His head swam and his muscles ached as he fought to suppress too many base urges—throwing her over his shoulder, carrying her into the forest, mounting her until the end of time.
She tore her mouth from his, her boobs wiggling prettily with her strained breaths. He wasn’t certain he’d ever breathe normally again.
“This.” She swallowed and pointed at him.
“Huh?”
She heaved in another breath. “You said to name whatever I wanted. This.” She touched his mouth.
No kidding? “Me, too.”

Excerpt
“I said, what do you want?” Ven sounded furious as he took a step towards her and Caitlyn shrank back, dropping the cooler as she raised her hands as though trying to ward him off. The box tipped over, spilling its contents across the scruffy lot and the man swore again. He stepped around the mess of food and drinks, advancing rapidly and she caught his scent, amber and dark wood beneath a layer of fresh sweat. Her wolf, normally so quiet, surged forward and she realized in terror that she was practically toe-to-toe with her mate. And he was mean and angry.
Knowing what it was to suffer at the hands of a cruel man, she turned tail and ran as fast as she could. She plunged towards the relatively safety of the trees, kicking off her shoes and dragging her clothes free as she fled.
Her wolf was whining at her to stop, but she pushed on into the heavy brush. Pausing to shed her jeans, she crouched, letting the shift take her over but making sure she retained enough control to force the wolf to keep running. The wolf howled, desperate to turn back, to catch again the glorious scent of her mate and offer her throat in submission to his dominant presence.
A heavy crash behind had her doubling her efforts and her paws scrabbled over the soft ground, seeking purchase as she ran as though the hounds of hell were on her heels. She risked a glance over her shoulder and an involuntary yip of fright loosed from her throat. An enormous gray wolf was gaining on her with every stride, the snarl on his face more terrifying than the scowl he’d worn in his human form.

She put on another burst of speed, her wolf suddenly in accordance that escape rather than submission was the best idea. Dodging around a massive pine tree, trunk broader than her back, she pulled up short at the remains of another fallen trunk that suddenly blocked her path. A snarl set her in motion again and her claws scratched at the bark as she desperately tried to clamber over the downed tree. The wood was soft, rotten in places and her front legs slid from under her as a huge set of jaws clamped around the thick fur at the back of her neck.

Claiming the She Wolf: Review and Interview

Black Hills Wolves
Claiming the She-Wolf by Louisa Bacio
When her older brother leaves the Black Hills to go to college, Tala Graystone stays behind, determined to restore their dilapidated home into a B&B for the pack. As more people return to the area, the need for temporary housing increases. Now, if only she can find someone to help with the heavy lifting.
Yas Collins fled Los Lobos as a child with his mother. As he struggles with his wolf and overpowering shifts, a desire for nature and the forest strikes hard. Black Hills, South Dakota, beckons him. With a background in construction, he easily finds work at Tala’s dilapidated B&B, but not everyone in town greets him with open arms.
As the remodel gets underway, Tala and Yas fight their growing attraction. Yas doesn’t trust his wolf urges around beautiful B&B owner. The she-wolf, however, has other plans.

Excerpt from Claiming the She-Wolf:

A growl from low in his throat threatened to escape. The rumble started in his chest, and he fought to keep it down.
She turned, looking down at him. “Did you say something?”
“Umm, no. Just clearing my throat.”
He needed to get his base instincts under control. Recent research showed that wolves in the wild killed in order to protect their domains and to get more space. He didn’t want to be ruled by his wolf. He’d grown up in the city, with humans, not out in the forest. His mom had tried to talk to him about shifting, but as a woman, she didn’t have the same experience.
He couldn’t go to a shifters anonymous group for help with his sexual urges. Maybe he needed to start his own support group. He snorted at the idea. At the top of the landing, Tala turned to the right, and he followed.
They entered what had to be the master bedroom suite. It was painted a vibrant lavender color, and the bed had a green floral comforter with an abundance of fluffy throw pillows. White dollies rested on the two nightstands, and a vase of wildflowers called for attention. The feminine room seemed in sharp contrast to his host. She didn’t look frilly.
“This will be your quarters.” Her lips pursed, and she blinked a few times.
The idea shocked him. “What? I’m sorry, but it looks like your room.”
“Well, it has been. But it’s the nicest room in the house, and as a guest, figure you should have it to be comfortable. I’ll move my things into another one.”
He waved his hands in front of him, as if shooing away something physically bad. “No way. No can do. Give me the second best, then. My first job can be fixing it up.”
She smiled. “Well, second best would be my brother’s room, and even though he’s on a trip right now, I don’t feel comfortable moving his stuff. So third best, and we work today to make it more, um, livable?”
Her choice of words made him pause. “Deal.”

Author Interview:

Why did you start writing erotic romance?
I grew up with both of my grandmothers reading romance. One of my first books was Danielle Steele. On the other side, my grandmother taught high school English for 30 years, retired and then poured through two Harlequins a day.
I don’t exactly see it as writing “erotic romance,” but more about love and real relationships. In most courtships, they do have sex!
Name three things on your desk right now.
Pixy Stix, a cowgirl bottle opener and the Beast bobblehead (from X-Men).
Heels, flats or nothing at all?
Thongs or anything open-toed. I hate being confined.
Favorite dessert?
Vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. Love Farrell’s since it has lactose-free.
Burger or sushi?
Hmmmm. Pasta? I’m a total carbs gal.
What do you enjoy most about writing for the Black Hills Wolves series?
The sense of community is amazing. I like being able to step into this alternate world with so many other talented authors.
Tell us something about your main character that people will find interesting.
Yas has problems controlling his Wolf urges. Those desires fight to control him.
What is next up for you on the writerly horizon?

I recently got the rights back to the first book I ever sold – Sex University: Physical Education, and a new publisher, Riverdale Avenue Press, will be releasing it, along with a new short and full-length, The Master Class. It’s amazing to reflect back upon the work I’ve done and have the chance to make it better.

Review:

I love the Black Hills Wolves series and this book is right up there with the rest of them. Great book and I enjoyed the interplay between Tala and Yas. Good characters, spicy sex scenes and all the goodness that comes from reading a Louisa Bacio book. You can't go wrong.

Infiltrating Her Pack Release Day!

Infiltrating her Pack
Black Hill Wolves
By Dominique Eastwick

The mysterious and intimidating lone wolf, Z, has returned to Los Lobos. Descended from a long line of gifted yet secretive shifters known as Infiltrators, his people are the spies of the shifting world, rarely seen and harder to track.

Ripley Greystone has a big problem—her pack is Alpha-less and a local coyote band knows it. The safety of her pack rides on trusting Drew, the new Alpha of the Black Hills Wolves. But, admitting the reason for needing his help isn’t something she’s quite ready to do.

Drew senses there’s more to Ripley’s request to join his pack than what she leads him to believe. There’s only one way to know for sure—send an Infiltrator to spy on Ripley and her pack.

Forced to infiltrate her pack to discover its hidden secrets and protect it from the coyotes determined to claim the she-wolves for themselves, Z finds more than he expects—all the while fighting the need to claim Ripley as his mate.

Except
A hairsbreadth divided them, and it took all the willpower he processed to fight the building desire to pull her into his arms. Her breathing quickened, and as he gazed into her blue eyes, her raw sensuality forced him deeper into the cavernous pit he’d fallen in when he’d first seen her.
The words came out on a whisper. “You feel it, too, don’t you?”
“This attraction?” Z raised an eyebrow.
She closed her eyes. “It won’t work. I have secrets you could never understand.”
“We all have secrets,” he said then gave in to his animal nature and claimed her lips, though touching her nowhere else. He burned himself into her, forcing her to recant her words of denial.
It will work. He didn’t know how, but he didn’t think he could walk away from these feelings again. Having ensured the Greystones posed no threat to the Tao Pack, he could make his top priority the safety of his mate. His second would be to figure out the logistics of having a mate not of his pack.
Her deep groan rumbled through him, and every thought but Ripley faded. Passion swirled and something new, something different…something more, accompanied by a fizz running along his spine and through his nervous system, charging his powers. The urge to howl grew.
