1. How
did you start writing erotic romance?
I write about love,
about people who meet and fall in love. Despite whatever stands in their way
they know they must have their chosen partner and take risks so they can be
together. I have written some sweet stories, sensual stories and some that
stand in the erotic category. I never made a conscious decision to write erotic
romance, but developing the love between two people inevitably led to them
having sex in a variety of ways. To me that is a totally natural consummation
of a relationship whether it is vanilla or has a little or a lot of kink to it.
Lovers will make love and I think readers enjoy sharing the experience with the
couple they are reading about.
2. Plotter
or pantster?
I am mostly a pantster
and always have been. If a story gets very complex I make notes for reference.
Often I know the end of the story shortly or even before I begin it but
sometimes I let the story run and see where it leads. I’ve found in the past
characters have their own ideas about what is going to happen. If I try to mash
them into what I want they fight me and I end up backtracking to change things.
3. What
are three things you have on your writing desk?
Amongst the other
stuff on the desk I have a big chunk of rose quartz, the Oxford English
Dictionary and Thesaurus, and two farthing coins. The coins are there to remind
me, no matter what, I have two farthings to rub together.
4. Favorite
food?
I have to say my
favorite nibble is cheese and crackers especially when accompanied by a glass
of good red wine. I enjoy spicy food as long as it isn’t too hot. A balti curry
with pilau rice is a treat for me.
5. Tell
us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to
you?
The latest release is
in the Sexy to Go Compilation Volume 6. Sexy to Go contains the work of a group
of authors who Eva LeFoy got together to produce sizzling stories for women who
like it hot! Erotic romance for women by women featuring contemporary, paranormal,
BDSM, and more. A new volume every month, always delicious.
My story Rewriting the
Law is serialized in Sexy to Go. I have enjoyed Ansgar and Elana a great deal
and had a lot of fun with them as they are such opposites. There are both
learning the passion that flames between them has depths they hadn’t imagined.
6. I
write because ____...
I write because
it is my passion. There are times when it is a compulsion to write the story in
my head. I see images of situations and scenes in my mind. Sometimes they are
from the middle of the story and I have to work out how the characters got into
that situation and where they go from there. I write because I must.
7. What
is your favorite type of character to write about?
I enjoy writing about
people who find their courage, who confront their problems or difficulties and
find a way to solve them, even if they are afraid of what they face. I think
courage is a very admirable quality in people and that it comes in many forms.
This makes it an interesting thing to write about. I didn’t deliberately set
out to write with a focus on courage I discovered the theme after I’d written
two or three stories. I like my heroines to face up to their problems and I enjoy
seeing how they deal with them, that is part of the fun for me in the writing
process.
8. What
is the sexiest scene you ever wrote?
Hmmm. I’ve a lot of as
yet unpublished stuff that is quite sexy. I’m working on getting it right for
readers. I think the sexiest scene I’ve yet had published is between Sian and
Magnus in my book Timeless, but saying that, Rewriting the Law has some sensual
and hot sexy scenes.
9. What
advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field?
Find a critique group
to work with, be prepared to take helpful criticism and learn. Write as often
as you possibly can and try as many different forms of writing as you
want. More than anything don’t give up.
10. What
is next on your writerly horizon?
I have a new release on
the 10th of August with Liquid Silver Books, Christmas Carols, a
sweet historical romance available for pre-order here http://bit.ly/1l0mX2Y .
I’ve just
signed a contract for another story which I hope will be out later in the year
or early next. I am also working on another full length historical and a
fantasy novella. I have another part of Rewriting the Law for the next Sexy to
Go compilation Volume 7. There may be even be two sections depending on how the
word count works out when I edit. Once Rewriting the Law is completed I am
looking forward to introducing Sexy to Go readers to The Weatherman.
As Sexy to Go Volume 6
is a compilation of stories by 10 other authors as well as me I’ve included the
blurb from each of the stories on offer. The excerpt is from my story Rewriting
the Law.

Excerpt
from Rewriting the Law.
The view of her flawless curves set his
cock solid. Astonishment overtook the pulse of desire. He wasn’t supposed to
become aroused when he punished her, to do so must break the law, somehow. This
wasn’t in the book!
Elana wriggled over his knee. “Are you
going to continue or have you changed your mind?”
“I can punish you. I should and it’s
the law that I do. Now be quiet.”
“I won’t. You know this behavior could
be described as an offense against a stranded individual. It breaks the rules
of the Ritwillner Concourse.”
He shook his head. If only she would be
silent. He needed to think. Reading in the book about disciplining a female was
one thing, but being faced with the silky flesh displayed over his knee quite
another. Elana was so soft and delicate, and he had no idea how to do what he
must. If he spanked her too hard he might injure her badly. He glanced to the
broad width of his hand. Why hadn’t he ever practiced what needed to be done?
“Ansgar? I’m getting cramp in my leg.
Will you please let me up?”
“No.”
“How can I convince you to listen to
me?”
“By being silent while I complete my
oath-sworn duty.”
“What?”
“You don’t understand. Any Jagan male
preparing for a mate must make a solemn promise to uphold the law. As I’d
almost saved enough to afford a mate I underwent the ceremony to ready myself
for one. If I break my oath and it is discovered I have, I may then have to face
the Commission. If I am found to be lax in my instruction I could be stripped
of my right to a female.” He caressed the soft skin of her ass. “They could
take you from me and offer you to another male.”
“I understand. If I allow this
punishment, will you then be within your law?”
Allow this? How had she turned things
around in such a way? “Yes, I would.”
“And if I agree you may do as you wish,
will you listen to me after?”
What a manipulative little creature she
could be. He couldn’t still his amusement at her guile. No Jagan female would
ever have thought of such a thing. “Yes, I will listen.”
“Then please, get on and do it.
I’ve got pins and needles in my foot.”
Thanks for reading.
