We don't see many movies in the theaters anymore either - usually too many rude people flashing their screens with texting, talking, etc. but we felt in a movie-going mood. Of course we had to move at least once because the pathetic excuses for parents behind us were letting the kids kick the back of our seats over and over and over, but once we moved, all was good. :> I love the Minions!! And I'm with you on Up - one of my favorite Pixars, but I always cry during the first ten minutes.Joey W. Tangled had a small selection of musical numbers that fit the moment and plotline. Frozen threw music in everywhere, most of it not that great, and in some cases tried to make it into dialogue, like an opera. One exception was Let It Go, sung by Idina Menzel. Fabulous. And the graphics were exceptional, especially the ice sequences. I think if they'd left most of the music out of it and focused more on the story, it would have been awesome. And tried to make the reindeer more of a reindeer and less of a dog (not sure what was going on with that). Still worth seeing - just didn't think it lived up to all the hype.Joey W. And I loved the fact Dale and Athena were pretty much in my age bracket. I have plenty of characters who are younger, and I don't mind writing them, but every once in awhile it's nice to deal with people in their mid-forties (or at 50, as Dale is) - they tend to be less contrary with the author (laughter). Though Dale could be stubborn on a couple points, and I wasn't going to argue with him too much (wink).Joey W. I've always had a lot of animals in my life, not just my own, so they're probably a lot like my human characters - a compilation of different traits from different "people". The shepherd mix that Dale adopts out is a prime example of that. I've fostered and placed dogs with that wonderful combination of smarts, playfulness and unbridled affection. As many blessings as I have in my life, I count my animal relationships in the top tier always.

Just a side note - I have a golden retriever, so I have loved "George" in the JR Ward series, and the first time I read him, I knew JR had to have a retriever of her own, because George is SUCH a Golden. They're amazing dogs - so expressive and loving, and they all seem to want to be lapdogs, even if they are 70-90 lbs!!Joey W.
