Stirring Up Dirty was a lot of fun to write. Great and enjoyable characters, stubborn as all get-out, and secondary characters I've come to love too. It is the first of the Stirred by Love Series, but also connected to DARE, which is also available at Evernight Publishing! It is the story that first introduced Candy, so be sure to check that out too!

  Blurb:
Shaken and Stirred with a splash of dirty.

Candy Wilson arrives in St. Albert with one mission—to sign the next young, hot model to her modeling agency. She has no time for distractions and isn’t prepared for bartender Eric McKenna—the brother of her young client-to-be, Melissa. Eric challenges her on all counts, irritates her daily, and heats her body to boiling temperatures with just one touch. He’s hard to ignore and impossible to resist.

Eric McKenna will be damned if his baby sister signs any contracts with Candy Wilson. No way in hell will he allow anyone to whisk Melissa off to a foreign country and lead her on a path that’s not right for her. And yet Candy pushes him further than he’s ever been before and drives him crazy. Eric can’t control his need for her or the desire to engage with her … on so many levels.

 Excerpt © Kacey Hammell, 2015

“Hey there. It’s Eric, right?” He stalled and pivoted. Behind him was the one person he didn’t need to see right now. Melissa had talked about her enough that he knew all he needed to about her. And some shit he hadn’t cared to.
“Ms. Wilson. Hope you’re enjoying our little town here.” She leaned against the wall of Abe’s Diner.
“Little? This place is huge. I did enjoy some shopping this morning. The market a couple blocks over has some of the nicest things. I spent way more than I should.” He bet she did. From what she’d shown at the bar yesterday, she had more money than she really knew what to do with. In his opinion, she’d earned it all by letting it all hang out in fashion magazines for the world to see. Wearing skimpy outfits and bathing suits, which to him was too much to be taken seriously. She had the looks for sure, but he questioned her morals.
“Well, I have to get back to the bar. Nice seeing you.”
“Oh, you couldn’t spare a few minutes to have coffee with me? There are a few things I’d love to talk to you about.” She sidled closer to him, a smile lighting her face, her eyes twinkling like stars in the evening sky. He bet she was used to getting her way all the time. She brushed a hand over his bicep.
“Just a quick coffee, and maybe a bite to eat?” The heat from her palm rushed through him. His fingers tingled and the urge to feel her warmth around him caught him off guard. He took a step back and shook his head. Damn her for getting to him. He needed to steer clear. She would do anything to take his sister away from here, even use her wiles to do it; he’d seen her flirting with Drew yesterday. “Sorry, I don’t have time to entertain you. You’ll have to find someone else to keep you occupied, Ms. Wilson. Have a good day.” Eric turned and strode away. He needed to keep a watchful eye on his sister and find a way to dig himself out of the hole he was in. Neither would be easy, though. Not with the distraction of Candy Wilson around to battle with.

Beyond Fairytales: Soul Solution

By Katherine McIntyre
An Adaptation of String of Pearls by Hans Christian Andersen

Blurb:
For Erik Anderson, the Copenhagen line is his curse. He takes the train every night en route to collect souls. Like any lovelorn fool, he bargained his own long ago, and now pays the price—a lifetime of loneliness as a grim reaper.  Stay distant—that’s been his mantra and what keeps him sane.
Until Mina Castner drops into his life like a whirlwind, one spilled drink leading to staying up until dawn with the woman. He believed one night couldn’t hurt, but he sorely underestimated her determination. Every encounter between them is a reprieve from the guilt of reaping souls every night, but it can’t last. Even if she sparks long buried feelings, and even if her sheer presence intoxicates him, he can’t let this continue. For humans, his touch is poison, and if he slips up, it could cost her life.

Excerpt:
The whole date thing had been a bad idea.
She rounded a corner, stepping onto the street where the club was located. The Hive stood out even from a couple of blocks away. Its glass-and-steel exterior was slick, and lights flashed on different floors, granting glimpses of the chaos inside. Like other top-notch places, this one didn’t advertise—no sign out front since the building was imposing enough. A strain of music filtered from it, but the noise was muted—she’d bet the inside was the opposite.
She wrinkled her nose as she got closer. Great. A line. My perfect Saturday night—waiting in a line to get into a loud room with blinding lights, blaring music, and sweaty guys. No thanks.
One glance at the people waiting to get inside and she wanted to turn around. Caked on makeup, glittery dresses, and overly gelled hair dominated the crowd, all part of a scene in which she didn’t fit. A slight breeze carried the cloud of perfume teeming around the line her way. She fought not to gag.
Strands of her auburn-dyed hair kept slipping from her bun and trailing along her shoulders. Why did I even bother doing my hair? Once I get inside, the sheer heat from the place will frizz it out. Mina sighed, trying to calm her frazzled nerves. This is why I don’t date.
Up ahead, the bouncers were either admitting people or turning them away at the door. She joined the end of the line, checking her phone while she waited. He was already inside. Joy. Too late to suggest a detour to a coffee shop instead.
A man tall enough to stand out approached the entrance. With hoops in his eyebrows, ears, and, chances were, elsewhere, too, he didn’t mesh with the rest of the crowd. Nor was he wearing a polo or suit, the type of club attire the rest of these guys wore. Instead, his sleeveless, fitted hoodie made an impression of its own as did his tailored black pants, which were accented by his leather stompers. Even in a sack, the man would’ve looked good. When the guy opened the club door, the bouncers didn’t even give him a second glance. Seems they know their regulars.
She hoped her date stacked up. The line moved forward a couple of paces, and she crossed her arms over her chest. This was going to be a long night.

1.      How did you start writing erotic romance?
I write about love, about people who meet and fall in love. Despite whatever stands in their way they know they must have their chosen partner and take risks so they can be together. I have written some sweet stories, sensual stories and some that stand in the erotic category. I never made a conscious decision to write erotic romance, but developing the love between two people inevitably led to them having sex in a variety of ways. To me that is a totally natural consummation of a relationship whether it is vanilla or has a little or a lot of kink to it. Lovers will make love and I think readers enjoy sharing the experience with the couple they are reading about.

2.      Plotter or pantster?

I am mostly a pantster and always have been. If a story gets very complex I make notes for reference. Often I know the end of the story shortly or even before I begin it but sometimes I let the story run and see where it leads. I’ve found in the past characters have their own ideas about what is going to happen. If I try to mash them into what I want they fight me and I end up backtracking to change things.

3.      What are three things you have on your writing desk?

Amongst the other stuff on the desk I have a big chunk of rose quartz, the Oxford English Dictionary and Thesaurus, and two farthing coins. The coins are there to remind me, no matter what, I have two farthings to rub together.

4.      Favorite food?

I have to say my favorite nibble is cheese and crackers especially when accompanied by a glass of good red wine. I enjoy spicy food as long as it isn’t too hot. A balti curry with pilau rice is a treat for me.

5.      Tell us a little about your new release. What character in the book really spoke to you?
The latest release is in the Sexy to Go Compilation Volume 6. Sexy to Go contains the work of a group of authors who Eva LeFoy got together to produce sizzling stories for women who like it hot! Erotic romance for women by women featuring contemporary, paranormal, BDSM, and more. A new volume every month, always delicious.
My story Rewriting the Law is serialized in Sexy to Go. I have enjoyed Ansgar and Elana a great deal and had a lot of fun with them as they are such opposites. There are both learning the passion that flames between them has depths they hadn’t imagined.

6.      I write because ____...
I write because it is my passion. There are times when it is a compulsion to write the story in my head. I see images of situations and scenes in my mind. Sometimes they are from the middle of the story and I have to work out how the characters got into that situation and where they go from there. I write because I must.

7.      What is your favorite type of character to write about?
I enjoy writing about people who find their courage, who confront their problems or difficulties and find a way to solve them, even if they are afraid of what they face. I think courage is a very admirable quality in people and that it comes in many forms. This makes it an interesting thing to write about. I didn’t deliberately set out to write with a focus on courage I discovered the theme after I’d written two or three stories. I like my heroines to face up to their problems and I enjoy seeing how they deal with them, that is part of the fun for me in the writing process.

8.      What is the sexiest scene you ever wrote?
Hmmm. I’ve a lot of as yet unpublished stuff that is quite sexy. I’m working on getting it right for readers. I think the sexiest scene I’ve yet had published is between Sian and Magnus in my book Timeless, but saying that, Rewriting the Law has some sensual and hot sexy scenes.

9.      What advice would you give new authors in the erotica/romance field?
Find a critique group to work with, be prepared to take helpful criticism and learn. Write as often as you possibly can and try as many different forms of writing as you want.  More than anything don’t give up.

10.  What is next on your writerly horizon?
I have a new release on the 10th of August with Liquid Silver Books, Christmas Carols, a sweet historical romance available for pre-order here http://bit.ly/1l0mX2Y . I’ve just signed a contract for another story which I hope will be out later in the year or early next. I am also working on another full length historical and a fantasy novella. I have another part of Rewriting the Law for the next Sexy to Go compilation Volume 7. There may be even be two sections depending on how the word count works out when I edit. Once Rewriting the Law is completed I am looking forward to introducing Sexy to Go readers to The Weatherman.
As Sexy to Go Volume 6 is a compilation of stories by 10 other authors as well as me I’ve included the blurb from each of the stories on offer. The excerpt is from my story Rewriting the Law.

by Pamela Moran

Dreamwalker Lee Jacobs needs answers to who shot him, to who wanted him dead. Can a dream date with sexy Dr. Brynn Keegan, a researcher at the Lucid Dream Center, help him find the answers? Or will that date only lead to murder?

Excerpt from Rewriting the Law.
The view of her flawless curves set his cock solid. Astonishment overtook the pulse of desire. He wasn’t supposed to become aroused when he punished her, to do so must break the law, somehow. This wasn’t in the book!
Elana wriggled over his knee. “Are you going to continue or have you changed your mind?”
“I can punish you. I should and it’s the law that I do. Now be quiet.”
“I won’t. You know this behavior could be described as an offense against a stranded individual. It breaks the rules of the Ritwillner Concourse.”
He shook his head. If only she would be silent. He needed to think. Reading in the book about disciplining a female was one thing, but being faced with the silky flesh displayed over his knee quite another. Elana was so soft and delicate, and he had no idea how to do what he must. If he spanked her too hard he might injure her badly. He glanced to the broad width of his hand. Why hadn’t he ever practiced what needed to be done?
“Ansgar? I’m getting cramp in my leg. Will you please let me up?”
“No.”
“How can I convince you to listen to me?”
“By being silent while I complete my oath-sworn duty.”
“What?”
“You don’t understand. Any Jagan male preparing for a mate must make a solemn promise to uphold the law. As I’d almost saved enough to afford a mate I underwent the ceremony to ready myself for one. If I break my oath and it is discovered I have, I may then have to face the Commission. If I am found to be lax in my instruction I could be stripped of my right to a female.” He caressed the soft skin of her ass. “They could take you from me and offer you to another male.”
“I understand. If I allow this punishment, will you then be within your law?”
Allow this? How had she turned things around in such a way? “Yes, I would.”
“And if I agree you may do as you wish, will you listen to me after?”
What a manipulative little creature she could be. He couldn’t still his amusement at her guile. No Jagan female would ever have thought of such a thing. “Yes, I will listen.”
“Then please, get on and do it. I’ve got pins and needles in my foot.”

Thanks for reading.

She still had to face the things that caused her fear, and as much as Shadow made her feel safe, she couldn’t quite let go of the responsibility of taking care of herself. She couldn’t in good conscience give him any hope when she had no idea what she faced in the next few days. That kind of trust required more than she was ready to give just yet. Still, resisting the temptation to give in to their attraction was becoming more and more difficult.
“I know you’ll do everything you can to protect my life, and if I survive this mission, we can talk about my heart,” she said, resting her head on his chest.
“You’ll survive,” he said. “I’ve already saved you twice. I’ll do it as many times as I need to.”
“As I recall, the last time it was a team effort,” Holly teased. “If I hadn’t shifted form, you wouldn’t have been able to carry me away.”
She heard his laugh rumble in his chest. “Very true. That just proves what a good team we are.” He pushed her back just a little to look her in the eyes, “And as I recall,” he said, a wicked grin spreading slowly across his lips, “the last time I saved you, you wore nothing but a smile. Is that going to be a habit?”
“You wish. What does that have to do with anything anyway?”
Still holding her close, he traced the line of her dress, down one shoulder, across the valley between her breasts, and back up again, making her shiver.
“Nothing. I was just thinking how impressive it was.”

Excerpt
Nikki slumped with her back against the closed front door. To say she was relieved to see Viper leave was an understatement. Again her hormones reacted to him. Why they had to come to life after three years, she had no idea. And even worse yet, for her best friend’s new brother-in-law. The situation had disaster written all over it. Even if her fear would allow her to make a move on the unsuspecting man, her conscience wouldn’t. As he had pointed out, they were now family. And she couldn’t risk Gabby’s happiness by throwing herself at Viper. It would lead to uncomfortable family gatherings.
Pushing herself off the door, she attempted to eject her sexy rainbow-colored angel out of her mind as she went about getting herself ready for bed. By the time she was snuggled under the blankets, she was exhausted. Half an hour later, sleep still refused her. Her body needed something—something she knew B.O.B. could provide.
Reaching across to her bedside table drawer, she pulled out her purple vibrator. This silicone cock had been the only form of male company her body had allowed over these last three years. And he never disappointed her, except when he ran out of batteries.
Throwing the blankets back, she quickly removed her pajamas. The cool air hit her sensitive nipples, causing them to harden further. They were begging to be teased. Her hand molded around her tiny breast, roughly massaging it. The harsh manhandling had more juices leaking from her already flowing pussy. Her thumb and index finger found her pebbled nipple, pinching it hard.
A groan escaped her as her hips lifted from the mattress, seeking out its partner. The hand that held B.O.B. travelled lower. B.O.B.’s head circled her hypersensitive clit. Electricity raced through her whole being, enticing her orgasm closer to the surface.
As if on its own accord, B.O.B. found her entrance. Scooping up some of her escaped juices, it slowly entered her. Each thrust took her higher, but still it wasn’t enough to take her over the edge. Suddenly Viper’s image popped into her mind. No longer were her fingers pinching and pulling at her nipples. Instead, his mouth had engulfed her breasts, his teeth worrying her nipples and sending shock waves throughout her whole being. As for B.O.B., he had been replaced as well. Viper was carrying her body to the heavens, and she welcomed it. Her imagination took the fantasy further.
Her legs widened, allowing room for Viper’s large body. The thrusts were coming harder and faster. Her orgasm quickly approached, catapulting her over the edge. Still Viper’s body continued to drive into her. Suddenly he pulled out and turned her. With her head on the mattress and her backside in the air, he slammed back into her. At this angle it was enough to encourage another orgasm to make itself known. It danced around the edges, avoiding her pleas for completion. More punishing thrusts were delivered from behind. Then it came, a command her body seemed to be waiting for.
“Come for me, sweetheart.”
Light burst behind her closed eyelids right before she screamed her completion. As she tumbled back to earth she felt tears falling from her eyes. Her head was turned to the side, allowing the sheet and mattress to absorb them. It was then that she realized how uncomfortable she was. True to her fantasy, her backside was in the air, while her head rested upon the bed. One arm held her balanced while the other one was under her body. Her hand was between her legs, holding B.O.B. in her pussy.
As she went about cleaning B.O.B and remaking her bed she expected embarrassment to consume her. It never came. In its place was confusion. How could that fantasy have felt so real? In her mind, she felt his body against hers. Never before had any of her masturbating sessions felt like that.
The man she was trying to view as family had somehow accomplished the impossible. In her mind, he had truly been with her in this bed. Yet the fear that usually accompanied the idea of being sexually involved with a male was absent. How was that possible? Why was he having such an effect on her?
This man with his brightly painted skin and rusty red hair had her craving things she didn’t think were possible to ever want again—a sexual relationship. His messy locks with their just-out-of-bed look called to her fingers. They desperately wanted to delve into his thick mass of hair. His plump, kissable lips had her mouth watering and her chin itching. In her mind she could see the stubble rash that would appear after a kiss from her new fantasy go-to guy. How was she ever going to look at that man again without blushing?
She was glad that she didn’t have to see him every day. Otherwise she suspected her rampant hormones would have her doing something impetuous. With her hormones in overdrive she knew it wouldn’t be long before she threw herself at this man who was only being friendly with her because of Gabby’s relationship with Devil. She needed to minimize her exposure to Viper. It was the only way she wouldn’t embarrass Gabby and herself.
